In Hollywood, there are well-dressed men — and then there’s Ryan Gosling.

The 32-year-old Oscar nominee, who stars in this Friday’s Gangster Squad, has made quite a name for himself on the red carpet lately, often donning looks that mix old-school class with modern-day edge.

Such was especially the case at Monday night’s premiere of Gangster Squad. Gosling hit the red carpet wearing a caramel three-piece suit, black tie and studded black boots.

His best accessory, though? His mom, Donna, whom he brought as his date. (Seriously, this guy can’t be real, can he? Can he?!)

But like most stars, Gosling didn’t arrive in Hollywood clad in Armani…

Though these days, the Notebook star makes headlines for breaking up street fights and taking girlfriend Eva Mendes on dates to Disney World, Gosling embraced a far more casual, bad-boy look (think: tank-tops, t-shirts and baggy pants) back in the day.

These days, Gosling may be one of the red carpet’s best-dressed men, but he hasn’t left his bad boy style completely behind. Though the actor regularly pushes the red carpet style envelope, eschewing basic black suits in favor of retro three-piece suits and blue, burgundy and charcoal tuxes, his off-duty wardrobe is far more laid-back, though slightly more polished (think: t-shirts and fitted jeans).

It’s hard to believe that just six years ago, Vanessa Hudgens was dancing down the hallways of East High, belting out “We’re All In This Together” alongside ex-boyfriend Zac Efron. But today High School Musical star turns 24.

No longer dancing down the hallways of East High in girly dresses and headbands, Hudgens is all grown-up, with a more sophisticated style to boot.

Though the birthday girl has always glammed it up for the red carpet, she’s gone through different fashion phases since first hitting the scene as a teen.

When she first hit the red carpet in 2004, Hudgens was all about breezy dresses in pretty pastels. But even during this ultra-girly phase, there were still hints of the boho style — like the low-sung belt she wore with a long pink lace dress to a press event in 2005 –  she would come to adopt in her twenties.

As she entered her late teens, the star began to branch off from her High School Musical image, showing off her sexier off-screen style in curve-hugging dresses in sultry hues and animal prints. Though the look was more va va voom than boho chic, Hudgens let her inner hippie come through in her loose wavy strands and even the occasional peace sign necklace.

Now in her 20′s, Hudgens has really come into her own. Having developed a professional and sartorial identity outside of her High School Musical crew, the Spring Breakers star has found a way to marry her inner flower child with a more grown-up glamour in time for her big red carpet year ahead, as she stars in three movies in 2013.

Happy Birthday, Taylor Swift! Though you’d never guess it from all the Grammys she’s scooped up, the country super star turns 23 today.

In honor of the country superstar’s birthday, we’re celebrating 23 years of Swift style, with look at her fashion evolution throughout her career.

She may be one of country’s biggest stars, but Swift has a look that’s anything but country. And while the fresh-faced singer has made a career out of singing about her past romances, when it comes to her style, she’s not looking back.

Swift started walking the red carpet in her teens, and, while she’s always had an eye for fashion, she’s certainly stepped it up in her twenties. Still, the singer has stayed true to her whimsical, girly style as she’s grown both professional and sartorially.

Though the pop star will strut the red carpet in a pair of sky-high stilettos, she still dons Keds (she’s even designing a line for the classic sneaker brand) and her kitschy kitty ballet flats.

The signature tight ringlets of her teen years have given away to more grown-up ‘dos as well. Swift may not have deviated from her sparkly red carpet style much in the past few years, but she’s experimented with her hair, mixing in a side pony or straight sleek ‘do into the mix. And she’s traded in her lip-gloss for red lips.

In the last year, Swift’s style has gotten more sophisticated and adventurous as well. The singing sensation has mixed it up on the red carpet in everything from long shimmery gowns to sleek pantsuits and sexy mini-dresses.

All the birthday girl’s recent experimentation has been paying off. Swift has already begun to hone in on her signature red carpet style without ever boring us, with her glam-girly style.

Kristen Stewart’s style has grown up right along with her Twilight character Bella.
