Some five months after making a huge splash at the Sundance Film Festival, Grand Jury Prize winner Fruitvale Station is making the rounds with its first trailer.

Starring Friday Night Lights’ Michael B. Jordan and the amazing Octavia Spencer, Fruitvale Station recounts the last day of Oscar Grant, the 22-year-old who was killed by a police officer at a transit station in Oakland, Calif. on New Year’s Day 2009.

The film is the first feature length project from Ryan Coogler, a 27-year-old director who grew up in Oakland.

Chad Michael Murray, Kevin Durand and Melonie Diaz also star in the picture co-produced by Oscar-winner Forest Whitaker.

Fruitvale Station, which was acquired by The Weinstein Company for around $2 million following its Sundance debut, is set to compete in the Un Certain Regard section of the 2013 Cannes Film Festival this month. The film will open stateside in limited release on July 12.

Just in time for the upcoming awards season: Ashton Kutcher‘s transformation into Steve Jobs is set to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January.

Out of the 115 films making their debut on Jan. 17-27, the actor’s biopic, Jobs, was selected as the festival’s closing-night film in Park City, Utah, according to Variety. The much-anticipated flick chronicles the late Apple founder’s rise to fame as one of the revered entrepreneurs of the 20th century.

“Ashton is going to blow a lot of people away. His performance was absolutely transformational,” Kutcher’s costar Josh Gad told Us Weekly.  If he looked any more like Steve Jobs, I think it would just confuse a lot of people in thinking Steve Jobs never passed away. It’s that uncanny.”

Hollywood’s finest actors and actresses never miss a chance to attend one of the film industry’s biggest events of the year — and the 2013 Sundance lineup is proving to be another star-studded soiree. Also celebrating their respective film’s debut: Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Scarlett Johansson, Nicole Kidman, Shia Labeouf and Paul Rudd.

Elizabeth Banks proved that you needn’t sacrifice fashion during the cold winter months when she stepped out in an eye-catching parka at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this week.

The gorgeous 30 Rock star kept warm in a bright red parka with a fur collar and tortoiseshell buttons. Elizabeth accessorized her red statement coat with some vintage Wayfarer sunglasses and a pretty beige wristlet purse.

Most of Hollywood’s stars have migrated to Sundance for the annual film festival, and the talented Emma Roberts is one of them.

The 19-year-old actress, who is there to promote her film Homework, strolled down main street in Park City, Utah on Monday and bundled up in a puffy black jacket.

Other stars who have been spotted at Sundance? Penn Badgley was seen hitting the slopes and Eliza Dushku hit the town with her beau, Rick Fox.

The Sundance Film Festival is officially underway, and apparently people whose name starts with “Eliza” got the memo.

Eliza Dushku, Elizabeth Banks and Elizabeth Olsen were all photographed enduring the Park City, Utah snow on Saturday as the opening weekend of the independent film showcase rolled on.

The younger sister of the Olsen twins, Elizabeth, is the talk of Sundance so far, with her films Martha Marcy May Marlene and Silent House generating that familiar indie buzz.

As for her similarly named brethren, Elizabeth Banks is promoting two films too – My Idiot Brother and The Details, but Eliza Dushku is simply enjoying the movies and slopes with her ex-Laker boyfriend Rick Fox.

Everyone always talks about the Sundance Film Festival, but how much do you really know about it? Well, thanks to Celebuzz and Bing, you’re about to get a history lesson.

The film fest, which has become an iconic part of Hollywood and launched the careers of directors like Steven Soderbergh and Quentin Tarantino, started in the early ’80s and worked its way into becoming a staple for hungry and visionary filmmakers. Penn Badgley took a little break from the Gossip Girl Upper East Side neighborhood for the snowy mountains of Utah this weekend.

The actor shredded the slopes on a snowboard during some time out from the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. Judging by the photos, Penn seems to be quite good on the board, as he and a mustachioed friend slalomed their way through the mountain.
