Scott and Allison (Crystal M. Reed) had broken up; Jackson (Colton Haynes) had turned from one supernatural being into another, and Derek’s pack was left alone in the woods, being circled by the unknown.

When Teen Wolf returns for its third season on Monday, June 3, four months have passed and the new school year is just starting. But while it is doing so without one conflict-filled character, a whole new pack of them are coming in. Beacon Hills will soon be home to a bunch of new Alphas, sure to stir the pot and raise the stakes even higher.

Celebuzz was on-set with the Teen Wolf cast to get the scoop on Season 3. Here are some highlights.

1.) Jackson may not be dead, but his absence still hits harder — some harder than others, for obvious reasons. “I personally think [Lydia] went through a breakdown because she’s no longer with her boyfriend and the love of her life,” Holland Roden said. “It’s a little bit of a certain… musically talented couple that like to break up and get back together a lot. Maybe he’s not the best for her, but it doesn’t matter because that’s who she loves. I think at the end of the day, whether it’s good or bad, it’s realistic. Jackson might not have treated her right at times, but I think he was the love of her life, and so she’s devastated.”

2.) Allison has vowed to get out of the werewolf-hunting business, but that’s easier said than done when new threats come to town, resulting in a kind of vigilante stance. “She figures out pretty quickly that they’re not kind, and they’re a threat. People are dying, and that’s quite alarming to her. Her need to protect her friends — because she has no family — overpowers the pact she has with her dad [to be out of the family business],” Reed said.

“She has to be off the radar. She’s kind of like the person you don’t see coming. Because she’s doing it so low-key, it’s kind of like ‘Oh, where did that arrow come from? Must be Allison!’”

3.) Both Scott and Stiles are focused on growing up and bettering themselves, not relationships. “Scott is really trying to take care of himself,” Posey said. “He wants to feel good about himself, so to do that he really has to be proactive and responsible, and he’s in a great place, even [with] the break-up.”

“Towards the end of the second season, Scott was kind of getting behind in school, and he was putting everything before school and trying to save people, and he has since prioritized his life. He’s doing great in school; he’s reading every day; he’s doing a bunch of pull-ups — one-armed pull-ups, by the way!”

And as for Stiles, O’Brien shared that his research is actually evolving into real detective work: “His room has turned into a crime scene [investigation] of sorts. He has boards everywhere and pictures up and things connected. He has this web of information around his walls, kind of. He’s always been the detective, sort of, but now he’s actually becoming like his dad.”

4.) The new Alphas that come to town see Derek as a prime target and plan to infiltrate the inner circle any way they can. For some, this is through straight intimidation, but others take a more “manipulation by seduction” approach. “Some of the folks look at us as threats, and a lot of them find us attractive as the new set of twins in town, so it’s really playing that up. Being both threatening, and as much as one could be, attractive. That’s what we’re there to do,” Charlie Carver, who plays Ethan, said, noting that Ethan is “going after Danny” in a way that is a bit “blurry” as to whether or not any of his feelings are real.

Each one has their own unique, special ability, too. Carver also shared that for twins Ethan and Aiden, the ability is that they’re “super fast when apart” and that when they “fight, it’s very much as one.”

5.) Loss is a huge motivator for many characters in the beginning of the season, including Boyd, who is reeling from the loss of Erica when he comes back to town a changed kid. “He’s a man scorned, and he’s out for blood,” Sinqua Walls said. “He’s massively in touch with his wolf-like tendencies and still trying to control them and still learning, and now he’s kind of breaking out, not sure of who to trust. He has a tendency now to want to lash out, and there’s no one there to guide him in how to become a good wolf.”

Teen Wolf returns for Season 3 on Monday, June 3 at 10PM on MTV.

Who won the ratings game on Thursday?

It was another good night for The CW as the premieres of The Vampire Diaries and the Beauty and the Beast re-boot had 3.5 and 3.2 million viewers respectively. Not surprisingly thought, CBS juggernaut The Big Bang Theory led the pack in the 8 PM hour with more than 13 million viewers and contributed to CBS’ win of the night. Meanwhile, ABC edged out FOX for second place. Numbers for the vice presidential debate were down from the presidential debate but still performed respectably. [Zap2it]

Oprah’s Favorite Things is back! The two-hour special will air on OWN and feature Oprah Winfrey revealing her must haves to a group of military spouses. This year, viewers will also get a chance to get in on the action with a watch and win opportunity during select segments of the program. Oprah’s Favorite Things: 2012 will air on Sunday, Nov. 18 at 8 PM. [OWN]

Colton Haynes is leaving MTV’s Teen Wolf. The actor, who played Jackson Whittemore on the drama, is reportedly being forced out of the show, as producers only wanted him to appear on 12 of the upcoming 24 episodes of Season 3. When the second season ended, his character had transitioned into a werewolf. The actor tweeted Thursday: “These past few yrs have been the best of my life. I’m sad that this chapter has ended, but excited for a new one to begin. Thanks for the love.” [US Weekly]

And the overall theme? Everyone was just trying to make their father figures proud — and you know what happens when you choose your actions based on what someone else may want you to do, right? You overlook what’s really important, and people get hurt.

Note: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen “Master Plan” yet.

“Master Plan” kicked off right after the (seemingly) deadly lacrosse game, and we got our answers pretty quickly about whether or not Jackson’s (Colton Haynes) gouges were fatal and just where Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) ended up after the lights went out.

Much to our surprise and dismay, respectively, Jackson was still kicking on the morgue table, scaring Isaac (Daniel Sharman), Melissa (Melissa Ponzio), and Scott (Tyler Posey) alike. In fact, Scott was so concerned about the kanima that he had his mommy try to zip him (it?) up in the body bag. Come on, man; you’re a werewolf; sack up!

The kanima’s power proved to be greater than even Jackson could have imagined, though, because instead of dying — and taking the host body along with it — it soon began to heal bigger and better. In fact, if all went according to plan, Jackson was supposed to gain the ability to fly. We can’t make this stuff up, folks! But Lydia (Holland Roden) intervened — she was the only one who seemed upset about his “death” anyway, and that includes his adoptive parents in the consideration — and she managed to get through to the humanity in him once again. Who said high school relationships are superficial!? Haynes has never been better than right here tonight when he channeled vulnerability instead of shaking rage.

Unfortunately, it seems that soft side to Jackson will prove to be short lived, as Derek (Tyler Hoechlin) attacked him once again during a pretty epic showdown between werewolves, hunters, and the kanima (while Peter Hale just stood around and watched). Rather than finally paying off the dying promise, Jackson emerged a shiny, new (naked) werewolf, with bright blue eyes. What does that all mean!? And will he finally be happy now that he got what he wanted from Season 1, or will he have second thoughts about being supernatural at all?

Stiles was revealed to be down in the Argents’ basement with Boyd (Sinqua Walls) and Erica (Gage Golightly), watched over by Gerard (Michael Hogan) and Allison (Crystal M. Reed) who were going to use him to get to Scott. Stiles held it together better than we may have expected. Though, knowing his “stench” would be enough for his friend to track him, he stared Gerard down better than the werewolf cubs who cowered behind him. Sadly, though, Stiles’ attempted appeal to Lydia, who was hell-bent on saving Jackson even if it meant throwing herself in harm’s way, didn’t go as well. His plea to her and then his heart-to-heart with his dad was one of O’Brien’s shining moments, too. In a show as full as testosterone as Teen Wolf, it’s the sensitive sides to these guys that really stand out.

And Gerard had a dastardlier plan up his sleeve. It appeared the pills he has been popping ever since he got to town were to treat his cancer, but he found a better cure in Derek deciding to become a supernatural being in order to stay alive as long as possible. That’s pretty greedy, right? Especially considering tonight he proved his willingness to sacrifice the rest of his family for his own life.

But Scott had his own plan. It turned out his heightened sense of smell allowed his smarts to finally kick in, and he switched out Gerard’s pills with mountain ash, which a supernatural being cannot ingest without terrible consequences. The sheer amount Gerard took in should have had him keeling over immediately after the bite, but instead, just like Jackson before him when getting bit by a werewolf, he began to ooze black sludge from his orifices, his body rejecting the transformation.

When all was said and done, the only real deaths in “Master Plan” was that of Scott and Allison’s relationship as Allison couldn’t quite forgive what she had done (though he, of course, believed fate would have them finding their way back to each other), and that of Derek’s reign of power, as he returned home to see an insignia of a whole Alpha pack on his door. With his pack disassembled (Boyd and Erica quite literally surrounded in the woods and Peter letting Isaac in on the truth about too late), he better hope for a lot of new castmembers to bite next year!

Buzz Moments

OMG!: Who would have guessed that it would be Lydia — not Jackson’s birth parents — that ended up validating him enough to “save” him?

Thank you, TV gods: Maybe it’s just us, but we’ve been clamoring for the hunters and the werewolves to see the bigger threat at stake and withdraw their claws (metaphorically anyway) against each other for the short-term, and tonight that wish finally came true.

Awk-ward: There must be a quota for using the parents of Beacon Hills. How else do you explain Scott needing his mommy’s help with Jackson in the morgue?

Hotness: Jackson’s transformation to werewolf took place bathed in headlights. It may not be as romantic as the moon, but the light still bounced off all the right muscles.

Fab-u-lous: The final shot of the episode was not one of an epic cliffhanger but just a sweet, sentimental callback to the pilot, as Scott and Stiles took to the lacrosse field to just be normal boys for a few minutes. If this was the series finale, it would be more poignant, but it was a “pretty” moment nonetheless.

Can. Not. Wait.: Um, so when exactly does Season 3 start? Because we need more, like, right now!

But ignoring those forces is no longer an option as the crescendo is upon Beacon Hills just as the season finale of Teen Wolf is upon its audience.

Scott must finally turn his attention to Gerard (Michael Hogan), who has promised he will let Scott be with Allison (Crystal M. Reed) if he just delivers Derek (Tyler Hoechlin) and his pack. But whether or not Gerard’s deal is legit is not even Scott’s biggest concern, as Allison has finally embraced her warrior side and gone off the deep end a bit in her own right.

Can Scott pull her back to save everyone once again? And is Jackson *really* dead?

Though it appeared from his stunning lacrosse “death” that Jackson (Colton Haynes) did the noble thing and took himself out before the kanima could kill again, we have to wonder if Teen Wolf really wants to lose one of its star players.

(We also have to wonder if Jackson really did take himself out or if someone else on that field had a secret they were just determined to keep, but that may be a whole other conversation…)

Judging from the clip MTV has teased the finale with below, though, it seems the supernatural drama isn’t so ready to say good-bye to Jackson after all, as some part of him is still fighting — even when on a slab.

Or Gerard is still managing to control him — quite literally the puppeteer of this now immobile kanima vessel?

But there may not be much time to deal with that, as in “Master Plan,” the second season finale for MTV’s Teen Wolf, Scott and his friends — and mom! — have to rush to figure out Gerard’s master plan while Derek plots to take him down using his own methods, and Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) is being tortured in his own right.

Can’t they ever just sit down to a nice, normal dinner instead?

On a show like MTV’s Teen Wolf, that would be a bit too obvious, though, wouldn’t it? And for that, we have to thank Jeff Davis because otherwise tonight’s summary by Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) — and subsequent turn on the field (!) — could have ended really, really badly.

On any other show, this would have been his swan song. Thankfully, Teen Wolf is so much smarter than that… right?

Note: Spoilers ahead if you have yet to see “Battlefield.”

The penultimate episode of Teen Wolf’s second season, “Battlefield,” saw the lines being clearly drawn when Gerard (Michael Hogan) used the kanima against Scott’s mom (Melissa Ponzio) in order to get Scott (Tyler Posey) to lead him to Derek’s pack. His mission all along has been one of vengeance for his daughter’s death at Derek’s (Tyler Hoechlin) claws, but only now, with the kanima at the ready, is he able to carry it out.

But twist! Gerard told Scott that the real trade would be Derek for Allison (Crystal M. Reed) — that’s right Grandpa would let the young werewolf “have” his beloved granddaughter if he handed him Derek, even if not on a silver platter. Um, did any of you completely buy that the way Scott seemed to: hook, line, and sinker?

As much as Scott always wants to do the right thing, “Battlefield” saw him genuinely torn — first when his mother begged him to just give Gerard whatever he wanted, and then with what to advise Isaac (Daniel Sharman) when the rest of his pack wanted to defect out of Derek’s control. However, any good hero can’t lay low for too long, and he ended up taking his own stand when realizing if he didn’t play in the lacrosse game, Jackson (Colton Haynes) would, and blood would be shed.

Meanwhile, Allison was still raging blindly in carrying out her own side to this plan of vengeance. She lured Derek’s pack into her woodsy path by creating fictitious wolf calls that led them to think there is a new pack out there in which for them to seek refuge and shot arrows into Erica (Gage Golightly) and Boyd (Sinqua Walls). Somehow Derek managed not to feel her pain the way he did Scott’s weeks earlier, as he was distracted by a tete-a-tete Peter (Ian Bohen).

See, Peter’s plan for Lydia (Holland Roden) has been to save Jackson from his “reptilian skin.” Because of their once-deep bond, she is the best way to the little heart Jackson has left. And getting to his heart can save the humanity in him. The “undeniable power of human love” may just save Beacon Hills.

Did those words really come out of a Teen Wolf character’s mouth?

Surprisingly, it was Argent himself (J.R. Bourne) who put an end to Allison’s rampage, though, suddenly seeing the monster he may have created with her. And it was Isaac who stood alongside Scott in the fight against Jackson.

But when all was said and done, it wasn’t Scott or Isaac or Derek or even an Argent who brought someone down. The game ended without incident, Jackson’s kanima side kicked in late, and the lights went out. As panic ensued, you might think someone wound up trampled, but instead, it was Jackson who was found sliced on the field — at his own scratchings.

And Stiles? Well, Stiles was nowhere to be found…

Buzz Moments

OMG!: Scott walks out of the shower to find his mother strung up by the kanima — and it proves not to be just another hallucination or nightmare sequence.

Thank you, TV gods: Jackson shows a shred of humanity — perhaps more than he ever has, from even before he became the kanima — by warning his friend Danny to get out of his way on the field, lest he take him down. And then he shows more by taking himself down. All in a day’s work, you guys.

Awk-ward: Derek’s so-called loyal pack prepares to leave him to find a “new pack.” Even after putting up with being chained during a full moon, it finally appears this father figure just doesn’t cut it.

Hotness: Stiles scores! Not with Lydia or anything but an actual goal during an actually important lacrosse game. It’s a freakin’ miracle!

Fab-u-lous: The symmetry of the fallen on the lacrosse field and the field in the woods was poetic, even if a bit on-the-nose.

Can. Not. Wait.: Why didn’t Derek feel his pack in trouble? What turned Jackson against himself? And where did Gerard and Stiles go??

MTV’s Teen Wolf universe is crawling with so many creepy creatures, could it be that Melissa is as in-the-know as the Argents, just chooses to co-exist peacefully, the way you might expect a nurse to do?

But now that the secret about her son is out, things are bound to be different. It’s just too bad Scott (Tyler Posey) won’t have time to deal with repairing his female relationships right now, as Gerard (Michael Hogan) has a new task for him: deliver Derek (Tyler Hoechlin) to the hunters or else he will have Jackson (Colton Haynes) kill someone.

Clearly someone won’t make it off Teen Wolf’s “Battlefield,” but who will it be?

“Battlefield” is the second to last episode of Teen Wolf’s second season, and the lines are not as clearly drawn as one might think. With Scott knowing Allison (Crystal M. Reed) is capable of coming for him, his focus of protection may be shifted, leaving those he cares about vulnerable.

We all know Gerard’s hit list can include anyone who doesn’t share his bloodline, and Scott, thus far, has been such an earnest kid, he should come to all their rescues. But what happens if Gerard’s medical condition flares up? Will Jackson as the kanima feel that pain, the way he felt Matt’s (Stephen Lunsford) fear of water, making him a potential victim, too?

Perhaps the big bad here never was the kanima, or even the person controlling it, but specifically Gerard, this season’s wild card.

It started out so simply, this week’s episode of Teen Wolf. Scott (Tyler Posey), Stiles (Dylan O’Brien), and their respective parents were trapped in the Sheriff’s station by a gun-wielding Matt (Stephen Lunsford). Derek (Tyler Hoechlin) was tracking them, and Allison (Crystal M. Reed), out for revenge in her mother’s name, was tracking Derek.

But the episode that started in flashback to the night Jackson (Colton Haynes) videotaped himself sleeping very quickly spun out of control, revealing yet another (bigger, badder) kanima master, as well as Scott’s secret.

Note: Spoilers ahead if you have yet to see “Fury.”

After watching Matt make a connection with the kanima through his camera, we suddenly have a new definition for the term “brotherly love.” It turned out Matt had a mega grudge from over half a decade ago, when Isaac’s brother got drunk and tossed him into a pool, and Isaac’s dad told him not to tell anyone. And Matt was victim enough to listen. Talk about an anti-bullying PSA!

Matt’s motives may have been warped, but his means were a pretty fascinating. Through a long spew of exposition, we learned that using his camera once again, Matt took photos of the would-be victims, letting the rage build in himself and ultimately projecting it onto Jackson to carry out his dirty work. Of course, he had dozens, if not hundreds, of paparazzi style shots of Allison on his camera, and she ended up assaulting the precinct, rather than ending up Jackson’s victim.

Between Matt’s story of being bullied and then pushing a gun in our beloved heroes’ faces and Allison ultimately bringing her trusty crossbow and also automatic weapons into a police station after receiving a little approval and a whole lot of manipulation from her grandfather (Michael Hogan), this whole episode of Teen Wolf felt a little too celebratory of the sloppy mass violence that populates headlines.

We’d be lying if we said Allison’s killer aim and ability to make an entrance didn’t unleash the wannabe Lara Croft inside us, too, but we found ourselves just hoping all her stray bullets would shoot through Matt, teaching him a lesson once and for all. Even before he pulled the cliche “If I can’t have you, no one can” card. Sure, he went through some rough stuff, but he ultimately intensified the cycle of violence. Teen Wolf delivered a number of teachable moments tonight about living with fear and hate in your heart.

Derek and the Kanima took each other on in an epic fight that Scott only entered when he saw his mother was in danger. But before they could even get to that, Matt left Scott with a bullet in the chest. That would be bad if he was an average boy, but because he’s a werewolf who heals faster than most, let alone at all, it was only a matter of time before his mother the nurse realized he was back in tip-top shape after only a few minutes.

That’s right: Scott’s secret got out! Coming to his mother’s rescue, he “wolfed out” and couldn’t hide his face from his mother, who shrank away in disappointment but not quite fear.

But Teen Wolf wasn’t leaving the reveals there. Because Matt was breaking the rules of the kanima and killing people who didn’t actually deserve to die, he started to become the kanima. Grandpa Argent ultimately came to the rescue, drowning Matt once and for all and absorbing his power to become the new master. Meanwhile, Peter (Ian Bohen) stood and watched in shock and awe. That seemed to imply a new power struggle to come.

Buzz Moments

OMG!: Allison encounters Scott in the Sheriff’s station and keeps her gun level on him, warning him to stay out of her way. And, for once, we have no doubt she is angry enough to hurt even the one she loves.

Thank you, TV gods: The veterinarian finally has a purpose! Revealing that he vowed to protect Derek, as he once did for his family, not only gives the Alpha a new ally but also gives the show a source of explanation for some of the unseen dynamics that might get lost amid the chaos.

Awk-ward: Matt’s crazy eyed “I want to hurt a lot of people” was the stuff of sophomoric slasher films except for the real world similarities of recent current events.

Hotness: The slash shippers were given a little something extra tonight when Matt compelled Jackson to scratch Stiles’ neck, and he fell face down on top of an equally immobilized Derek.

Fab-u-lous: We’re not quite sure exactly why Derek’s dream was one in which he saw himself standing half-naked in a cloud of white, but we certainly liked looking at it!

Can. Not. Wait.: What will Grandpa Argent do with his new power?!

Celebuzz Meter (1-10): 9

Are you sad to see Matt not survive Beacon Hills? Sound off in the comments below!

Next week is the Sheriff’s station as Scott (Tyler Posey), Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) and their parents are being held hostage in “Fury.” And Celebuzz has an exclusive sneak peek at next Monday’s captivating episode.

Though Allison (Crystal M. Reed) and her trusty crossbow are heading their way, recent developments with her family may be weighing too heavily on her mind to see the bigger picture of the innocent humans who need help. Instead, she’s focused on tracking Derek (Tyler Hoechlin), who has also caught the scent of Scott in trouble (again).

With the return of Peter Hale’s power, though, Derek may be stripped of some of his own, leaving an opening for Allison to be the hero — or get her revenge.

Will the Sheriff’s station withstand an attack or end up just as demolished as the library?

In Celebuzz’s exclusive preview of “Fury,” Allison has a heart-to-heart with Grandpa Argent (Michael Hogan) in which he instructs her that the actions taken against the werewolves is up to her now. And her strong stance may surprise you, but it certainly solidifies herself as a new leader among the hunters.

Where will Allison as an enemy leave the leaders of the supernatural, though?

“I think Derek as a leader, in the beginning of the season, was a little in over his head,” Hoechlin admitted at San Diego Comic-Con, calling his leadership skills “flawed” and “cocky.”

“I think he’s going to need some help,” he goes on to say. “He’s definitely going to have to turn to some people that you would never expect him to turn to. He’s going to have to dig himself out of a hole.”

Though Derek has been training his new pack, and they survived their first full moon without major incident, they may have a long way to go to actually be that help. Scott, his former protégé, is one option for the werewolf who will soon have to lick his wounds and swallow his pride a bit.

“The fact that they have such different motives does put them in conflict,” Hoechlin explained the brotherly dynamic for Derek and Scott. “But it’s also at the same time [a point of] pride, and it’s his excitement at watching [Scott] come into his powers and learn how to control them. I think he ultimately believes that he and Scott could be allies — that they should be allies.”

And where you get Scott, you also get Stiles, so could the somewhat bumbling “every teenager” finally step up and show his worth once and for all? Already this season he has proven very useful in putting the pieces of the kanima puzzle together. And when Celebuzz also caught up with O’Brien at Comic-Con, he shared that Stiles would “never think twice” about helping his best bud out — but that recent events have made Stiles think twice about how his actions are affecting other people. How can those two concerns co-exist without Stiles snapping!?

“Ordinarily Stiles would never think twice about helping Scott and diving into a situation and taking the reigns, even if it means he’s in danger. It’s just his instinct… He’d never not be there for Scott; they’re brothers, essentially,” O’Brien said.

“[But his] dad loses his job, and I think that’s the first moment where he thinks about it, and he mulls over not only how often he’s getting himself in trouble, but now he’s also screwing over the one family member he has in his life. Other than Scott, the most important person to him [is his dad]. I think that will make Stiles question whether or not he can continue to help out.”

The bottom line is, if Scott can’t get things under control in “Fury” for fear of revealing what he truly is to everyone, then it really may be up to Allison to push past her personal pain and maturely put everyone else’s wellbeing first.

With so much to say, let’s just dive right in, shall we?

Note: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t yet seen “Party Guessed.”

It was Lydia’s (Holland Roden) birthday in “Party Guessed,” so naturally she was going to throw a house party, but before she could she had a couple of hallucinations thanks to Peter (Ian Bohen). Kicking off spring break right, seemingly the entire high school gathered at Lydia’s to celebrate, but what we learned was actually that there is a lot more to fear right around the corner.

First of all, what’s scarier than realizing Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) may actually have an aptitude for something!? Because tonight saw him hunched over books, studying, but not in the usual sense. He was going through old yearbooks to try to find the connection between the kanima victims, and voila! He found it in the fact that they were on the swim team, and their coach was none other than Isaac’s dad.

Similarly, we saw a much softer, more tender side to Argent (J.R. Bourne) tonight, as he tended to his newly bitten wife. Even though he knew better, he wanted to pretend the bite just wasn’t “that bad,” but of course Gerard (Michael Hogan) put things in perspective. He won’t be winning any “Father of the Year” awards calling Victoria (Eaddy Mays) a “thing” and a “cocoon waiting to hatch.” But the bottom line is, the Argent family is about to endure a huge loss, and losing her mother to such a savage situation may change Allison (Crystal M. Reed) forever.

After blowing her mother off to plan a superfluous party with her BFF, Allison got the shock of a lifetime, and Teen Wolf fans were treated to a surprisingly thoughtful story point about allowing Victoria to “die with dignity.” The moment during the full moon when Victoria’s transformation began to occur, she had her husband kill her — her way, and on her terms.

The other werewolves in town didn’t fare so well, either, though none were fatal. Derek (Tyler Hoechlin) chained his pack in for the night, after giving them a foreshadowing speech about choosing to ride together or fall by the side, but then he still went out. And he ended up back at the mansion where Lydia used her special wolfbane spiked-concoction to not only free Peter but to give him back his Alpha power.

But back to the party: no one showed up at first because of Lydia’s recent freak status, but Scott (Tyler Posey) and Stiles saved the day by filling the house with lacrosse players and people from the rave, respectively. And then they saved the day again, and much more seriously this time, when they realized who is controlling Jackson– Matt (Stephen Lunsford)!

After hallucinations from Lydia’s spiked drink (where Stiles saw his father railing against him for ruining his life; Allison saw herself hunting down, well, herself; Jackson saw his real parents are faceless creatures; and Scott saw Jackson and Allison getting it on), Scott realized something fishy was going on. But it wasn’t until Jackson pulled Matt out of the pool, where he had been tossed in and flailing that he couldn’t swim, that he (and Stiles) saw the deeper meaning.

Kanimas can’t swim. And just in case that still left too many questions, Scott watched as Matt stood on the street, with a transformed Jackson at the ready… or did he? Could that have been just another hallucination? Or is Matt more deeply connected to Jackson than we realized– maybe his brother?

Buzz Moments

OMG!: Allison sees her mother in the hospital and assumes it’s a “sick training session.”

Thank you, TV gods.: Allison finally realizes just how creepy Matt is when she finds his surveillance photos of her on his camera — and then she uses some of her sweet hunter moves on him at the party.

Awk-ward: Suddenly Victoria became a teachable moment when the character you loathed, and perhaps feared this whole time, gave an impromptu diatribe about the stigma of suicide before asking for help committing her own.

Hotness: There was something oddly music video-esque about the way Derek’s pack raged and rattled in their makeshift cages during their first transformation. And you know, Derek in his sweaty and bloody tank top wasn’t so bad either!

Fab-u-lous: Some random chick dunks Stiles in the pool, head first, in order to sober him up.

Can. Not. Wait.: So, what exactly does the kanima master want with Allison!?

Celebuzz Meter (1-10): 10

Seriously, what do you think the master really wants with Jackson and Allison? Tell us your best theories in the comments below!

Just last week, Scott (Tyler Posey) and Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) stalked Jackson (Colton Haynes) around a warehouse rave, occasionally getting distracted by pretty girls, other werewolves and an army of hunters, but just because they’re back on home turf this week in “Party Guessed” doesn’t make things any easier.

After surviving a skeevy warehouse rave, how dangerous can a little house party get?

Lydia’s (Holland Roden) birthday house party just happens to fall on a full moon, further complicating the teens’ right to, well, party.

Naturally, the gang’s all there, though Scott is still recovering from his run-in with Victoria (Eaddy Mays), as well as Allison’s (Crystal M. Reed) new found closeness to Matt (Stephen Lunsford).

“She doesn’t realize it, but she’s egging it on a little,” Reed told reporters at Comic Con last weekend.

“You know how those naturally flirty people that are really kind — everyone thinks that you’re flirting with them? I think that’s who Allison is, and Matt is very obsessed with her… Matt’s obsession takes on a whole other level– a very, very distinct other level.”

See what happens when Scott and Stiles are off trying to rework their plan to catch Jackson (Colton Haynes)!? Meanwhile, Derek (Tyler Hoechlin) is off chaining his new werewolf cubs in for the night.

It’s all fun and games for teenagers come party time, but Reed had a little tease of the much more serious stuff to come for the Argent family, too:

“Allison is becoming more and more of a hunter, and Scott is becoming more and more a part of Derek’s pack, and those two things can’t exist comfortably,” Reed previewed.

“What happens with her family… her mom was bitten, and that’s a line for her. It’s like, ‘I have to embrace the fact that I’m a werewolf hunter.’ And she takes on more of a [big] role. If you remember her aunt in the first season, but she was bad-ass and incredible, and [Allison] sort of becomes that character. [She] is very, very, very physical and is not afraid to kill anybody who is in her way.”

While Allison attempts to get her vengeance by any means necessary, Scott will begin to realize he doesn’t recognize Allison as well anymore. The two are growing farther apart by the day, and it all seems to be leading to an epic Romeo & Juliet style choice for Allison, which Reed admitted will come at the end of the season in the form of her choosing “between her family and Scott.”

Calling Scott and Allison “star-crossed lovers,” the decision seems easy, doesn’t it? Reed herself pointed out that “they belong together but can’t be together” and the choice is not about whether or not she loves him because obviously she does.

“It’s simply, logistically, ‘Can we be together and have these different worlds?’ And I don’t know that that’s going to happen, but she loves him!”

Teen Wolf airs on MTV on Monday nights at 10 PM. Watch a preview for “Party Guessed” below.

As promised tonight in “Raving,” he delivered a killer party, a misguided plan, and a threat that Scott (Tyler Posey) had previously overlooked. But Davis also delivered new nuances to Jackson’s (Colton Haynes) manipulation, daddy drama, and one hell of a cliffhanger!

Note: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t watched “Raving.”

Before we get into what went down in “Raving,” we feel we have to point out just how many characters Teen Wolf now has to service. For a show that could easily just kill people off, it is instead choosing to do the more complicated thing by weaving its characters together more intricately and with ever-evolving relationships. That deserves some kudos for Davis!

“Raving” saw Scott stalking Jackson, trying to trap him at a warehouse concert. But what really piqued our interest right from the get-go was that when Jackson walked in, he did so already in a trance, seemingly from the message he got on his beeper (!?). Um, did we see that right? What year is this, and how can mind-control cross numeric messaging!? Is it a commentary on who is controlling him?

We already know that the kanima kills those who have killed themselves — you know, like a Reptilian Dexter — but “Raving” makes it a point to remind us. So when Jackson starts a little stalking of his own, we know his motive. And suddenly the shot he took at his so-called best bud Danny (Keahu Kahuanui) a few weeks ago makes more sense: he just has bad aim when he’s not on the lacrosse field, and he was actually gunning for a girl all along.

Though the plan to trap Jackson and the other kanima — using a powder the vet claims such beings cannot cross (you know, like demons with lines of salt!) — starts off well-intentioned enough, things go awry when Derek (Tyler Hoechlin) and his minions and the hunters all show up at the warehouse, and fighting amongst each other ensues. Isaac (Daniel Sharman) proves his worthiness by distracting Jackson with multi-species dance-floor threesome with Erica (Gage Golightly), and later, shooting him with a tranquilizer, not to ensure he gets the girl, but to be able to lure him back to his lair to be interrogated.

Can we just point out that pre-werewolf Isaac and Erica never would have been allowed entrance into such a cool underground party!?

Stiles learns his antics got his dad booted as Sheriff but not until after his dad lets him in on a major coincidence in his case: All of the ages of the victims were the same, which put them in the same high school class. All except for Isaac’s dad, who may have been a missed target. And wouldn’t you know it? They were all in the creepy chemistry teacher’s class…

Meanwhile, Allison’s mom (Eaddy Mays) has been doing a little spying of her own — on her daughter and the boy with whom she supposedly broke up. Scott expresses worry about her mom and warns Allison (Crystal M. Reed) the time might be coming for them to step up appearances that they’re split up. She already has that plan in motion, by agreeing to go to the warehouse concert with creeper Matt (Stephen Lunsford), but it’s too late, as Allison’s mom is onto Scott’s scent and runs him down — literally, with her car.

Scott may be hurting, but his body still heals faster than most. So while she spills a monologue over him, Derek has ample time to come to his little cub’s rescue — which he does by biting Mrs. Argent, turning her into the thing she hates the most.

After spilling to Stiles, Erica, and Isaac that he is killing those who killed him (as if Beacon Hills Class of 2006 had it’s own “secret circle”), the thing inside Jackson turns and manages to track down his prey once and for all, and the guidance counselor pops up to be ominous with Scott’s vet boss, leaving us with more questions than answers after “Raving.” Are we ever going to learn who is controlling Jackson!?

Buzz Moments

OMG!: Derek bites Victoria — but perhaps more importantly, she actually reveals this truth to her husband.

Thank you, TV gods.: Gerard (Michael Hogan), in all his creepiness, has finally returned.

Awk-ward: Matt finally locks lips with Allison — and she just walks off, leaving him to lick his own wounds.

Hotness: Derek and Argent’s brief battle of words, as ripe with tension as they were, led into a much better use of the show’s physical specimens than anything done with glowsticks inside the warehouse.

Fab-u-lous: Victoria’s wide-eyed menace makes a lot more sense now that we’re looking at it as foreshadowing for tonight’s turn of events!

Can. Not. Wait.: Will Allison’s mother prove to be immune from Derek’s bite, or is she going to have to bite the (silver) bullet of her husband’s gun just to stop from completely turning?

Celebuzz Meter (1-10): 9

Does the fact that Jackson is now technically a vigilante make him more or less likeable to you guys? Let us know in the comments below!

Of course, being teenage boys, their plan involves some bumping, some grinding, and some skulking around a somewhat underground concert. If that doesn’t sound like trouble on its own, add in a second kanima and a very scary human gunning for Scott, and things are about to get… hairy.

Who’s the biggest threat in Teen Wolf these days?

Teen Wolf is talking a big game about the biggest threat being the one no one sees coming, but let’s be honest: The paranoia that sets it from having so many threats around you must be doing a number on Scott, too. Who does he have to worry about the most, and who should he “put down” first? Let’s look at the usual suspects:

There is Jackson, obviously, who grows more and more violent and exhibits less and less control over himself or his faculties day after day.

There is Derek (Tyler Hoechlin), who is building his own unpredictable pack.

There are the hunters, who are simply out for werewolf blood, as they have always been, with no regard to personal feelings or the human connection the wolf still may maintain.

There is Lydia (Holland Roden) who has been given a mission that is still unknown– but bound to be detrimental, since it comes with wolfbane, and it comes from a dead guy!

There is Gerard (Michael Hogan), who pops too many mysterious pills and seems to know more about the kanima than he is admitting to his so-called inner circle.

And of course there is the other kanima—Jackson’s master—who is unknown and unpredictable.

“Raving” is set to see a whole lot of serious consequence behavior stemming from what is deemed natural instinct at trying to eliminate, or at least alleviate, as many threats as possible.

Scott and Stiles feel like Jackson would be vulnerable in a place with loud music, no air, and flowing drinks; that is probably just their typical hormones influencing them. But then there is Derek’s own Alpha instinct that comes into play when Scott gets separated from his pack and ends up in danger…from the hands of Allison’s mom’s (Eaddy Mays) own “mama bear” instinct to protect her child — and the town — from werewolves at all costs.

Star Tyler Posey did the honors: Teen Wolf has been renewed for a third season and they’re giving fans a double load of episodes — 24 episodes instead of 12.

The renewal is well earned: the show is currently the top series across all TV in its time slot with MTV’s younger key demo, the 12-34 crowd. It draws 1.8 million total viewers each week.

So, now that you know there’s way more Teen Wolf to come, here’s what the cast revealed Thursday at San Diego Comic-Con.

Spoilers for Monday’s new episode: Allison’s father has figured out that two people are responsible for the murders in town – but Scott is more worried about her mother figuring out that their dating. But, uh oh — she was watching them as they talked and then kissed. Meanwhile, Stiles is charged with trapping Jackson and luring his master into a trap. But, Allison’s father has his own plan that may foil everything.

Here’s more details revealed by the cast:

– An Allison and Matt hook-up? “Anything’s possible,” Crystal Reed teases.

– Allison’s about to reveal some crazy new werewolf hunting skills.

– Jackson won’t shed the lizard skin anytime soon. Colton Haynes doesn’t see his character getting out of the monster business. Instead, he says there may be yet another monster transformation for Jackson in store.

– Will Derek cease to be a lone wolf and get a love interest soon? Tyler Hoechlin says there’s a “50-50 chance.”

And when it comes to television, there doesn’t seem to be any other place where small screen fanatics can find their favorite shows, producers, writers and hot actors in the same place at the same time.

Celebuzz already told you what we’re most looking forward to during the fest, but it never hurts to get a second, third or maybe fifth opinion from those in the know. So, we turned to some of our buddies who cover and write about television and entertainment and asked, “What are you most looking forward to at Comic-Con?”

Read on to find out how the TV experts answered our question.

Teen Wolf Panel, Thursday at 2:30 PM, Room 6A
“I’m looking forward to the Fringe and Teen Wolf panels, because they represent one show wrapping up its run and another that’s shaping into a long-running hit. The fact that Fringe is in Hall H is less about ratings and more about fan love, which is what Comic-Con is (and should be) all about. And Teen Wolf may be the newer kid on the block, but it is having a strong second season. And it is growing in buzz worthiness due to story by Jeff Davis and his writers as well as delicious eye candy!” – Jim Halterman, Entertainment Reporter, AfterElton.com

A Conversation with Bryan Fuller, Saturday at 1 PM, Room 7AB
“Definitely can’t wait to see the Bryan Fuller panel, “A Conversation with Bryan Fuller.” The man knows how to write character-driven stories with a complex ensemble cast. I’m curious to see more of what he’s got in mind with re-telling The Munsters, a classic television series, in the upcoming Mockingbird Lane while he also takes on the gritty Hannibal.” — Connie Allen, Writer and contributor, Blast Magazine

Fringe Panel, Sunday at 10 AM, Hall H
“What I am most looking forward to is the crowd at Fringe’s final panel on Sunday. The fans have been so amazing over the course of the show’s run, and I’ve heard that there’s a group planning a special salute to the cast when they take the stage. If they pull it off, it may be the one of the greatest Con moments ever.” — Damian Holbrook, Senior Writer, TV Guide Magazine

Supernatural Panel, Sunday at 11:15 AM, Hall H
“When Jeremy Carver left the Supernatural writing staff to executive produce Being Human, I mourned for months. So, I’m excited to see what he has in store now that he’s returned to the SPN fold as the new showrunner. The panel always boasts a hilarious preview of the show’s latest gag reel, and with Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Misha Collins, Jim Beaver, Mark Sheppard and writer Ben Edlund in attendance with Carver, I’m sure the presentation will be both fascinating and nice to look at.” — Laura Prudom, Associate Editor, HuffPost TV

Tokidoki booth #4731, Special appearance and autograph session, 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM daily
“I am most looking forward to my interview with the artist/co-founder of Tokidoki, Simone Legno. I’ve been a huge fan of his work for years and have been going to his signings. I love his collaboration with Hello Kitty, Sandy and some of the cutest, most amazing drawn characters he’s created. This is the first time I’ll be able to have a conversation after following his work for so many years.” — Joei Nguyen, Entertainment Writer, MSN TV

But MTV’s Teen Wolf is stepping it up week to week, not afraid to unravel new pieces of its mystery week after week. “Restraint” certainly did that in abundance by not only revealing the truth behind Jackson’s (Colton Haynes) adoption, but also revealing the truth behind Lydia’s (Holland Roden) hallucinations.

Note: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t watched “Restraint.”

“Restraint” started off kind of weird; we’re not going to lie. The initial teaser was just two random people potentially getting ripped apart in the woods. By a wolf, by the kanima, or by government officials who didn’t want them living on land for free. It didn’t really matter (though, for the record, the answer was the kanima), and it was too reminiscent of countless crime procedurals, supernatural or not. We already knew what damage Jackson could do in his “other state,” and thankfully, soon the episode got into that in spades.

The always slightly off Jackson made friends with a snake, got naked (not complaining!), and went after huntress Allison (Crystal M. Reed). Of course the brooding Scott (Tyler Posey) stepped in to save his lady love once again, providing ample material for Jackson/Scott slash writers everywhere (we’re not necessarily condoning, but we’re not judging either). Unfortunately, while Scott was distracted by the damsel in distress, lurker photographer Matt (Stephen Lumsford) found the information on the kanima. We have to hope this means he’ll be a target, not a reluctant addition to Scott’s Scooby pack, though.

Scott and Jackson’s fight surely only exacerbated the restraining order passed against Scott and Stiles for their “joke” with the prison van. But legal ones were the least of their problems, as the ever-closer-growing Erica (Gage Golightly) and Stiles learned that both Jackson’s dad and mom actually died before Jackson was born. Clearly, he was a kanima from birth, not having been turned later by a bite or scratch of some kind. They still don’t know who is not only controlling, but also looking out, for him. Yet, now Stiles knows Erica used to have an “epic” crush on him. So, there’s that.

Here’s the interesting thing, though: “Restraint” detoured from its usual kids’ adventures to show Scott’s mom (Melissa Ponzio) running into a kanima in the hospital. It was a story that ran too parallel to the exposition Erica gave about Jackson’s own birth to be completely coincidental…

After Jackson attacked Erica, scrawled a serial killer style message on the blackboard (“Stay out of my way or I’ll kill all of you”) and flew out the window, Scott reluctantly realized it was time to team up with Derek (Tyler Hoechlin) for a better chance at catching Jackson.

Meanwhile, Lydia finally had a seemingly sweet romantic encounter that allowed for a glimmer of hope that she could have a moment of typical high school teenage times. But, of course, the guy on the other end of it turned out to be supernatural himself. Her admirer was a young version of Peter (Ian Bohen). And when he revealed himself to her, he called her his “Plan B.” We told you she was one to worry about —perhaps even more so than Jackson!

Buzz Moments

OMG!: Jackson inhaling a snake like a tapeworm… and then it climbing out of his body the same way.

Thank you, TV gods: Revealing Peter Hale to be Lydia’s boy toy went a long way towards explaining her overall abilities and purpose past having flawless hair and being a great screamer.

Awk-ward: Scott’s mom snoops in his room, finds a box of condoms, and then narcs on him to Allison’s mom. Equally awkward was Allison’s mom’s “threat.” Um, Scott is a werewolf, not a vampire, so sharpening that pencil to a nub shouldn’t do much to quicken his pulse. An Argent should know better!

Hotness: Completely taken over by evil or not, a dripping wet Jackson staring Allison down in the boys’ locker room reminded us why we have a penchant for bad boys.

Fab-u-lous: Erica’s sassy leather jacket cements her place among the strong female characters of today’s television.

Can. Not. Wait.: Just how connected are the “adults” in this town to the kanima? More than we’d expect — the science teacher, Gerard Argent, even Scott’s mom — seem to be “in the know” in ways we did not anticipate. And, um, just WHAT is that “one very important thing” Peter wants Lydia to do?

Celebuzz Meter (1-10): 8

But just as that one mystery was solved, it brought with it a whole new slew of questions that the next all new episode, “Restraint,” will only scratch the surface of answering.

What happened to Teen Wolf’s former “golden couple,” Lydia and Jackson!?

Left still to wonder just who else in town is a kanima, and one strong enough to control Jackson, Scott (Tyler Posey), Allison (Crystal M. Reed), and Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) certainly have their hands full in “Restraint.” Jackson’s family is already spinning the story of how their adopted son came to be locked in a van by some troublemaker teens, too — which is sure not to sit well with Stiles’ Sheriff dad (Linden Ashby).

But just because the focus is on Jackson for now, let’s not forget the quiet threat and giant question mark that is Lydia (Holland Roden), lurking within the group, as well. Potentially immune from her own bite, she has been hallucinating, losing periods of time, bleeding intensely, and you know, randomly knowing archaic Latin. Will the “connections” she starts to make about her bite in “Restraint” spell even more trouble for our beloved teen wolf!?

Lydia certainly seems to be the biggest wildcard right now. After all, even though Scott — or even the Argents — have yet to figure out how to stop Jackson, at least they know what he is!

Teen Wolf airs Monday nights at 10 PM on MTV. Watch a preview for “Restraint” below:

ABC’s Happy Endings is coming out… with an unaired episode from Season 2 at LA Outfest on July 22 at the Director’s Guild of America. And for those who can’t make it to the LGBT film festival, ABC says the kickball-centric episode will appear sometime during the 2012-2013 season.
Apparently, people like watching Men at Work. TBS has just renewed the summer comedy about four guys who work at a magazine for a 10-episode second season. The announcement follows the Breckin Meyer-produced series’ success with the ad-coveted adults 18-49 demo. The show airs Thursdays at 10 PM.
Want a glimpse of what Britney Spears is like on Fox’s The X Factor? After ruling over auditions in three cities, sources say that she has become very blunt when it comes to judging performers.
After Community’s showrunner, Dan Harmon, was replaced, the show’s fans may find comfort in the news that the entire cast has signed on for next season.
Airing just after the MTV Movie Awards, Wolf is a much darker, horror-based version of the ’80s classic. With newcomers Crystal Reed, Tyler Perry and Tyler Hoechlin as part of the dazzlingly attractive cast, the show is already off to a big start and will likely only lure in more fans during weeks to come.

And, in case you missed it, we’ve got the entire episode for you to watch above, and be sure to tune on on Monday nights at 10pm for new episodes!

Wolf is set to premiere on Sunday night directly following the MTV Movie Awards. And if you think it’s the fun, light-hearted Teen Wolf of the ’80s, think again: This time around, it’s much more horror than comedy.

Tune in on Sunday night at 11pm to watch Wolf, and stay tuned to Celebuzz for all-out coverage of the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night!
