Zach Galifianakis is so much more than that funny bearded guy from The Hangover movies.

On Saturday, the actor took over the stages of Saturday Night Live and delivered one of the season’s more entertaining episodes (up there with Justin Timberlake and Joseph Gordon-Levitt).

In his opening monologue, Galifianakis presented joke after joke, some accompanied by his piano-playing skills, before opening an Altoids box that was supposed to be a cellphone. (Watch the clip above)

Decked out in a green dragon costume, Galifianakis later took part in a game show sketch called “Game of Game of Thrones,” where he faced real life questions (“What is the capital of Wisconsin?”) while his opponents answered book-related trivia.

Following the wild fire round, he gets a question from none other than Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, aka. Jamie Lannister on the HBO series.

“Nikolaj I have dreamed about meeting you for so long,” Galifianakis, in his dragon outfit, says. “Look at that jaw. I bet you smell like Drakkar . . . I just want you to know, I would make a great best friend. We could go to the movies, we could share jeans, we could shower together, even though I wouldn’t look down. I would want to.”

Galifianakis was later joined by his Hangover co-stars Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms, who played themselves in a Jennifer Aniston lookalike contest.

Jon Hamm also made a surprise guest appearance in a two-part sketch that deserves more watching than explaining:

Of Monsters and Men served as musical guest.

Kristen Wiig will make her return to SNL on May 11, hosting nearly one year after leaving the cast, while Vampire Weekend will serve up new tunes from their upcoming album Modern Vampires of the City.

Ahead of this month’s release of The Hangover Part III, The Hollywood Reporter today published an oral history of the wildly successful franchise. Among those interviewed include the stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis as well as producer/director Todd Phillips. The story contains several gems — including one about Heather Graham having to film a Hangover spoof for her agent’s son’s bar mitzvah, yikes — but nothing is quite as interesting as reading about how this surprise hit came together.

Given that neither Cooper nor Galifianakis were major stars when the first movie came out, it’s not really a surprise that they weren’t the first picks to play Alan and Phil. But what if it was Jake Gyllenhaal who was responsible for the group’s unremembered misadventures? Here’s who could have been in the Wolf Pack:

Phil Wenneck: According to The Hollywood Reporter, both Jack Black and Paul Rudd passed on the role of the booze-swilling teacher. There were also “others” who passed before the role eventually went to Bradley Cooper. Cooper recounts he got the role after having met Todd Phillips at an audition for Starsky & Hutch several years earlier.

Alan Garner: This role went through several rewrites before Galifianakis was cast. Initially intended to be a younger brother of the bride-to-be, both Jonah Hill and Jake Gyllenhaal were considered. After he was re-imagined as an older brother, Thomas Haden Church almost got the role.

Perhaps it’s because most people weren’t familiar with any of the stars before The Hangover, but it’s hard to imagine anyone else playing the infamous Wolf Pack.

The story also reports that the first Hangover movie earned Phillips nearly $70 million, so we know who’s buying drinks after the third and final movie’s premiere.

The E! television network catapulted itself to the centre of a race storm before Sunday’s 85th Academy Awards after broadcasting a game featuring Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas and a monkey predicting who will win an Oscar statuette.

The backlash was swift, with one angry viewer joking online that “someone on E! dropped acid” during their pre-show planning whilst another television watcher suggested the producer responsible for the segment should be fired.

It’s the second time NBC has been involved in a race controversy surrounding Douglas, who became the first African-American to win the gold in the women’s all-around gymnastics competition at the London 2012 Olympics. E! is also owned by NBC Universal.

During the Olympics, NBC aired a commercial featuring a monkey on gymnastics rings that aired right after Douglas, 17, clinched the gold. African-Americans in the past have been disparagingly referred to as monkeys to the point where it is considered a common slur.

The network later apologized for the advertisement’s poor timing, explaining: “No offense was intended.”

The time around, however, Douglas appeared complicit with the skit. She appeared alongside “Crystal the Monkey” from The Hangover Part II for a game in which the stunt animal predicted who will claim an Oscar. Ross Matthews and movie critic

Her participation in the segment, co-hosted by Ross Matthews and Dave Karger, didn’t deter viewers from lashing out at the network on social media platforms, like Twitter.

“This is the day you get to tell every bouncer [I’m 21],” Miller (Miles Teller) tells his buddy Jeff Chang (Justin Chon) in 21 And Over. “This is a sacred rite of passage. It’s like when an eskimo kills his first penguin.”

The new comedy from writer-directors Jon Lucas and Scott Moore takes place on Jeff’s birthday, which happens to fall on the day before his big medical exam. And perhaps unsurprisingly, the two guys who created The Hangover have something decidedly outrageous and irresponsible in mind for Jeff’s coming of age, including rampant alcohol consumption, fights, ritual spankings, and plenty of male and female flesh.

In a new TV spot exclusive to Celebuzz, the trio of friends make the questionable decision to celebrate Jeff’s big day, leading to all sorts of hilarious mayhem.

Miller leads the charge with an inspiring speech, insisting that the evening is a pivotal one in his young friend’s life which he will inevitably regret if he doesn’t celebrate, consequences be damned.

But after raucous hijinks ensue, the three buddies find themselves scrambling to recover as Jeff races to take his medical school exam. As Miller and Casey (Skylar Astin) struggle – and fail – to haul a passed-out Jeff through a window, Miller makes a moderately mature suggestion on how to wrap up the bacchanalian.

“One more party and then we’ll go home,” he says.

The teaser trailer for the highly anticipated sequel to 2009′s megahit The Hangover has finally found its way to the internet. This is one hangover you can get excited about!

While it doesn’t give away too much, we do see the reassembled wolf pack — which includes Stu (Ed Helms) rocking a Mike Tyson tat on his face (an homage to the first film?), a bald headed Alan (Zach Galifianakis) and a and a sexy looking Bradley Cooper walking the streets of Thailand with a monkey in tow.

Let the record show: If you steal Mike Tyson‘s tiger, as the boys of The Hangover did, there will be problems — but if you find yourself on the bad side of public opinion, as Mel Gibson has, fear not.

Tyson told the NY Post Wednesday that he didn’t agree with his castmates — Zach Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper, Justin Bartha, and Ed Helms — on dumping Mel’s cameo as a Bangkok tattoo artist in Hangover 2, and that he ’100 percent’ wanted to work with the troubled Oscar winner.  

“I’m not going to ever in my life point my finger at anyone. I don’t live in a glass house. None of us do. I work with anybody, as long as they’re respectful,” the retired boxer said.

Tyson is no stranger to comebacks himself. Once known as the “baddest alive,” Tyson spent three years in jail after being convicted of rape in 1992, but eventually returned to boxing and won back a portion of his heavyweight title. 

“We all have that guy — a Mel Gibson — in us,” Tyson said. “We just don’t want people to be exposed to it. Maybe he needs to go get help. We all need help, and need someone to talk to. I’m not against him, but I’m not for him.”

Filming for sequel to the 2009 hit comedy The Hangover has just begun, but there are signs that one of the movie’s stars, Zach Galifianakis, is already wishing he could block it out of his memory.

The Due Date funnyman recently granted an interview to podcast Comedy Death-Ray, and while he didn’t come right out and explicitly state his displeasure with the film, which will lens on location in Thailand, he did note that he’s “in a deep protest” over a current project.

After telling host Scott Aukerman that he’s turned down several projects on moral grounds, Galifianakis offered,

“But a movie you’re acting in, you don’t have a lot of control — you just show up and vomit your lines out. I’m not the boss. I’m in a deep protest right now with a movie I’m working on, up in arms about something. But I can’t get the guys to [listen] … I’m not making any leeway.”

When Aukerman sought to clarify, telling Galifianakis “I know you’re filming The Hhhhhhh,” the actor abruptly cut the host off, cagily offering,

“It has something to do with a movie I’m working on, yeah, I’ll tell you about it later. It’s very frustrating.”

Maybe he’s bummed out about having to spend time on the set with Mel Gibson? That could put a damper on any actor’s spirit.

Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and their friends are heading to Thailand, and they’re in a drinking mood.

Coming Soon confirms that a sequel to 2009′s hit comedy The Hangover is a go, and they’re moving the action from Las Vegas to Thailand to provide a whole new backdrop for the debauchery.

Though it was rumored that the sequel would be set in Thailand last fall, director Todd Philips initially dismissed the notion, stating,

“I don’t know. There’s a lot of rumors. There was a rumor also that it was going to Mexico or something and neither is true.”

Maybe they can save Mexico for the third installment.

Released in June 2009, The Hangover amassed a global box-office gross of $467 million on a budget of $35 million, and racked up Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture—Musical or Comedy.

Ouch. This could be even worse than the much-dreaded feeling after a night of drinking.

Us Weekly is reporting that Lindsay Lohan was offered a part in this summer’s surprise hit movie, The Hangover. So far, the movie has made over $205 million.

Todd Phillips, the movie’s director, offered the skinny tanning gyro the role of Jade the stripper (played by Heather Graham), but she turned him down!

Apparently, Lindsay’s agent “tried hard to get Phillips to consider her,” and after he finally agreed to meet with the actress, she said the script “had no potential.”

Guess this is one hangover that’ll last Lilo a while.

Heather Graham probably won’t be among the celebrities to score an underwear endorsement deal anytime soon. Because apparently the Boogie Nights actress isn’t big on wearing undergarments.

Graham showed up at the UK premiere of her new movie The Hangover at the Vue Cinema Leicester Square  on Wednesday. From the looks of things, she decided to pack light for the trip and leave her bra at home.

A ton of celebs showed up at last night’s premiere of The Hangover at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. We wonder why? 

The Hangover is about three groomsmen who, after a night of drunken partying in Vegas, lose the groom and must retrace their steps in order to find him. 

The movie’s leading man Bradley Cooper showed up with a gorgeous Eva Mendes. He was  linked to Jennifer Aniston last month.

There was plenty of skin being shown on the red carpet, including sexy ladies like Audrina Patridge, Kendra Wilkinson and a super-busty Heather Graham. Where did that come from? 

Also on the red carpet were Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who showed off rarest of smiles! We guess this movie does crazy things to people.
