When Bravo held its upfronts last week, three returning cast members were confirmed for season six of The Real Housewives Of New York City: Ramona Singer, Carole Radziwill and Heather Thomson (hallah!).

We haven’t heard much on whether LuAnn de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan will return, but Singer may have let it slip that Aviva Drescher will be back for more white trash/oversexed dad/alcoholism-accusing banter.

During last season’s reunion, sh*t got real bad, real fast (as it always does at these things) between Drescher and Singer.  At Thursday night’s We Are Family gala in New York, Celebrity Magnet‘s Tom Murro asked the blond New Yorker if things had changed between the two women.

“No,” was Drescher’s direct response.

Well, then!

And what about wide-eyed, True Renewal/Pinto Grigio-lovin’ Singer,

“It will be interesting to see where my relationship will go with Aviva, for as of now we have what viewers saw at the end of season 5,” Singer told Murro.

“I am happy to be coming back as long as I have fun doing the show I will keep doing it,” Singer went on to say about the franchise.  ”My daughter Avery will be off to college this August which is bittersweet for me, and all moms watching will see me trying to cope with this as we are so close and she is my only child.”

Avery’s going to college?!  Damn it.  This means we’ll see even more of Singer “renewing” herself, her face, her sex life, her wine.  Oy.

For The Real Housewives, happily ever after more often than not ends in divorce.

That’s what the numbers prove of the trend that’s taken over the famed Bravo franchise. More than half of all the current cast members on the six series under the Bravo franchise — New York City, New Jersey, Miami, Atlanta, Orange County and Beverly Hills — have been divorced at least once, according to the calculations over at Buzzfeed.

But Andy Cohen, Bravo’s executive vice president and Watch What Happens Live host, rationalizes the series’ split-up statistic as a representation of the state of marriage in the country.

“I think it’s a phenomenon among America,” he told Celebuzz at the Bravo upfront event in New York City. “The divorce rate is 50 percent and about 50 percent of the Housewives have gotten divorce. So I think we’re a reflection of what goes on in America.”

But upon closer look, Buzzfeed found that frequetly-reiterated figure is in fact far off, as the nation-wide rate is actually lower. In fact, the Housewives divorce rate — 51.3 percent — is nearly double that for average American women at large, which currently stands at 22.4 percent.

The trend has hit headlines recently, as Real Housewives of Atlanta‘s Porsha Stewart became the latest of the Bravo franchise to announce her marriage is heading for divorce. The breakup comes on the heels of two other Housewives heading to splits-ville in the past few months — New Jersey’s Dina Manzo separated from husband of seven years, Tommy Manzo, and Bethenny Frankel, formerly of the New York City cast, filed for divorce from her second husband, Jason Hoppy, in January.

Though the cold, hard numbers can be grim, Cohen put a positive spin on the situation as he speculated if the spotlight may play a part in pushing Housewivesto divorce.

“I think what it does is accelerate any problems that exist, because people have opinions about their problems and they’re voicing them,” he explained. “I think a lot of women find great strength by doing the show and they feel like, ‘Wow, I can do this.’ It’s an interesting phenomenon.”

Kelly Killoren Bensimon wants to get an advanced degree — but not the old-fashioned way.

“I decided to feed my mind with education, and instead of going to a bigger school, I wanted to show the rest of the world that everyone can get educated online,” the 44-year-old Columbia grad told Celebuzz at Saturday’s 2013 Kettleball Kickboxing Fitness Gala in New York City. “So I chose Northeastern University [in Boston.]”

When the former fashion model isn’t hitting the books, she’s writing them. Bensimon also told us that she has a new book coming out, titled In the Spirit of the Hamptons, just in time for Memorial Day. And this isn’t her first time being published — her recent titles include The Bikini Book and I Can Make You Hot!: The Supermodel Diet.

Bravo’s Real Housewives castmembers live in big homes, drive (or are driven) in expensive cars and wear the latest in designer clothing. But, that all comes at a price – literally.

The Total Bankruptcy website took a closer look at three of the women who have been forced to publicly claim they can’t pay their bills: New York’s Sonja Morgan, New Jersey’s Teresa Giudice and D.C.’s Michaele Salahi.

What did Total Bankruptcy find?

Well, Morgan has clearly suffered from a long drawn out divorce battle with her ex-husband, John Adams Morgan, a great-great grandson of the financier John Pierpont (or J.P.) Morgan — ring a bell? That along with a court judgment for a movie deal gone sour and poor spending choices landed Morgan with $19.8 million in debt.

Giudice has claimed on the show that husband, Joe, has left her largely in the dark about the family’s finances. Total bankruptcy finds that the Giudices were living in New Jersey extravagance without the paper to back it up. Their findings show the couple has $104,000 in credit card debt, $2.6 million spread over eight mortgages on three homes and $5.8 million in business investments. The damage? $10,853, 648.04.

Salahi may have left husband Tareq for Journey guitarist Neal Schon, but it remains to be seen if she can get away from the debt she accrued during her marriage. The alleged White House party crashers’ debt pales in comparison to other housewives, but it’s still a major sum for average Americans struggling in this wonky economy. At $1 million in debt, the couple clearly lived beyond their means and their debt was further complicated by a failing winery. Among their repossessed items is a $150,000 Ashton Martin.

On the fifth season of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York City, Sonja Morgan gave fans a taste of her romantic history.

She went head-to-head with her ex-husband over their divorce settlement, but she kept herself fun and flirty for whoever crossed her path — whether she was in NYC or on a completely different island… like St. Barths, perhaps.

“I love being married, I love being single,” Morgan tells Celebuzz.

After three years of dating, the socialite and entrepreneur broke up with her artist boyfriend Brian Farrell last year. And she isn’t worrying about when her next beau will show up.

“Right now I’m focused on my businesses,” the 48-year-old, who filed bankruptcy in 2010 after a court found her liable for $7 million in a movie production deal gone sour, says. “Unless someone special comes along, I’m focused on being married to my house and my business.”

Morgan is working on building her two brands, Sonja in the City and Sonja Home, right now. And earlier this year, NBC’s 30 Rock gave her some free advertising when Liz Lemon exclaimed that she would definitely buy the toaster oven cookbook the housewife has been working on.

“Tina Fey shouted me out on 30 Rock, it’s amazing,” she excitedly tells us.

But, just because she’s all about work right now doesn’t mean she knows exactly what she wants in the romance department.

“I want a man who’s smart, loves to brainstorm, and can keep up with me, because I go a mile a minute,” she describes.

“A sense of personal power is always good in a man,” the ambitious blond explains. “But, he doesn’t have to be a financier. Confidence is always sexy. I want someone who’s engaging, confident and sexy.”

And when asked to name the perfect man for her, Morgan knew exactly who would sweep her off her feet. “Tom Ford, because he is sexy, stylish, confident and creative,” she explains about the designer.

Bravo has yet to announce a Season 6 pickup for The Real Housewives of New York City. But, Morgan seems confident that she and the other women can deliver despite their on-screen differences.

“We’ve had a lot of good times and have enjoyed each other, even though you don’t always get to see that on TV,” she says. “It seems like it’ll be a hell of a Season 6.”

The St. Barths trip may be over on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York City, but the reverberations of the trip are still hitting castmember LuAnn De Lesseps.

Reports of a breakup (or an impending one) between De Lesseps and wine importer boyfriend, Jacques Azoulay, have spread since she admittedly lied on-camera about bringing a local man back to the Housewives’ St. Barths rental house. And now the reality star wants to put the breakup rumors to rest.

“We are still very much together and have never been more happy,” De Lesseps, 47, tells Celebuzz.

In fact, the couple spent the past weekend together in The Hamptons working on their tennis game in preparation for their doubles match on Friday at the Match for the Cure at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. The event benefits the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center and the Miracle Match Foundation.

De Lesseps provided Celebuzz with exclusive photos of the couple on the tennis court.

For her part, De Lesseps previously told Celebuzz of the St. Barths controversy that “what may have looked like infidelity… was in reality a ride home and a tour of the house after an evening of fun on vacation eight months ago.”

Knowing that it looked bad that she was caught on-camera trying to cover up the late night visit, The Countess also admitted, “My big mistake was trying to avoid the speculation and assumptions by telling a white lie.”

Aviva Drescher has found herself embattled in drama since she stepped into the world of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York City. And all the on-camera cat-fights and bitter backstabbing has taught the reality star one lifelong lesson.

“In all honesty, I think I’ve learned to, especially on television, definitely don’t meddle,” Drescher told Celebuzz. “I don’t like getting involved in other people’s arguments. It’s very difficult to argue other people’s arguments, and I would… meddle much less.”

Nevertheless, Drescher has her own wrangles to worry about.

On Monday’s episode of the Bravo hit series, Drescher blew up at costars Ramona Singer and Sonja Morgan after joining the cast on what turns out to be a conflict-filled getaway to St. Barths.

“Monday is, I think, sort of the crescendo of my storyline,” Drescher admits. “We need a whole hour to discuss Monday’s episode. I really become unhinged. All that biting of my tongue when I was in the pool, or when I was going in the Jacuzzi, or when Ramona was in my kitchen, sort of comes out.”

“I was very hurt, and very angry with Ramona and Sonja and, unfortunately, I called them a name in the heat of the moment that I regret,” she continued. “I feel badly about that. With that said, these women didn’t behave like friends or even acquaintances. It was very disappointing to me.”

Though she regrets the St. Barths trip, Drescher boasts about other moments on the show.

“One of the greatest ones was giving Jake his legs,” Drescher says of a 10-year-old who lost both legs above the knee at birth. Through her One Step Ahead Foundation, Drescher helped equip Jake with custom running prosthetics. “That was just an incredible moment,” she recalls. “He’s an incredible boy, and being able to raise the money and give him those legs was a lifetime memory.”

Another memory Drescher holds dear to her heart involved fellow Housewives newcomer, Heather Thomson. “Later in the season…I help Heather put together a charity function and somebody walks in her fashion show,” she spills. “It was an incredible experience. [That's just] a little hint of something to come. It was really fun.”

For new castmember Aviva Drescher, stepping into Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York City society has been like reliving the horrors of high school.

“It felt a lot like Mean Girls to me,” the reality star told Celebuzz. “I got sucked in by the mean girls, and then I discover that they’re not such nice people.”

Since the fifth season kicked off June 4, Drescher — a show newcomer alongside Heather Thomson and Carole Radziwill — has found herself facing off with co-stars Ramona Singer and Sonja Morgan.

And Drescher reveals that brewing battle comes to a head on Monday night’s drama-packed episode.

Though she “went on this trip because the ladies had been pushing me and pushing me and pushing me for weeks,” Drescher regrets “taking the time to go away with them…. Only to get there and be abused.”

Clearly, LuAnn de Lesseps wasn’t looking forward to reliving the events of Monday’s episode of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York City.

Weeks in the making, the women finally arrived to the Caribbean island of St. Barths for a girls’ vacation. During the trip, de Lesseps — who had been dating 37-year-old French wine distributor Jacques Azoulay since January 2010 — shocked her castmates when she returned from a night of partying with Tomas, a Frenchman who worked at the bar whom she had just met.

“What may have looked like infidelity on last night’s episode was in reality a ride home and a tour of the house after an evening of fun on vacation eight months ago,” de Lesseps tells Celebuzz in an exclusive statement.

What else does the Countess have to say about that night?

She adds, “Do you think I would bring a man back to a houseful of housewives (and cameras) if I were planning on having an affair?”

If having the man at the house wasn’t enough to get the other ladies’ tongues wagging, the Countess says that she definitely complicated the situation by not being honest about the nature of Tomas’ visit and asking a friend to help her cover it up. And now, the reality star wants to come clean about her error in judgment.

“My big mistake was trying to avoid the speculation and assumptions by telling a white lie,” the 47-year-old housewife tells us.

“The problem with telling a white lie is that you have to stick to your story,” she continues. “That’s why I made the call when I heard that Tomas was coming for dinner that night. Never tell a fib, because it can snowball out of control. LESSON LEARNED!”

As for her relationship with Azoulay, the complicated situation doesn’t seem to have put a damper on the romance. “As I write this, Jacques and I are on vacation and we couldn’t be more united and happy!” de Lesseps says.

Already an author, actress, reality star, mother and New York City socialite, Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York City castmember Countess LuAnn de Lesseps knows a thing or two about entertaining society’s upper crust.

And now she wants to share her party planning know-how for a memorable summer soiree exclusively with Celebuzz.

Here are the Countess’ top 10 summer entertaining tips to bring out your inner-hostess and make your next bash the hottest of the summer season.

What are her festive ideas?

1. Send a “save the date” in the mail or via email a month or two in advance so that you get on your friends’ calendars before they book up. You can also send a fun Evite invitation, which is better in the summer since mail often goes to the guest’s main residence rather than their summer homes. Remember to indicate how guests should RSVP, the time it begins and the dress code for the party.

2. Invite a variety of people. Having a mix of guests from all walks of life makes any gathering more interesting.

3. Circulate your party. Introduce people to one another, spark up conversations, or tell a good joke or two when there’s a lull in conversation.

4. Plan a creative and fun menu that works well in the hot summer months. Keep the food colorful, light and fresh. Think ceviche, grilled chicken and fish, and cold salads. Passed hors d’oeuvres followed by a buffet supper is a great option for summer dinner parties.

5. Put your mark on the drinks. I love to serve Rose and white wines — but serving signature cocktails in the hot summer months is also a great idea. Think sparkly and fruity when choosing the libations.

6. Greet your guests at the door with a smile on your face and a glass of wine in your hand. If the party is outside, make it clear where your guests should go upon arriving by stationing a friend or a staff member at the entrance.

7. Illuminate the party with tiki torches and candles rather than electric lights. Everyone looks fabulous in candlelight.

8. Don’t play the music by ear. Play easy-listening music for cocktails then transition to more festive, fun dance music to get the party started…or sing to your guests as I like to do.

9. Your guests are not on the menu. Use Citronella candles and other mosquito control measures so that your guests can be outside without being eaten alive.

10. All good parties must come to an end. Turn down the music, offer your guests an espresso and call a cab for those who’ve had a little too much to drink.

Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York City star LuAnn de Lesseps is coming to her own defense after a controversial episode Monday night in which fellow castmember Carole Radziwill takes offense to the Countess’ reference to Native Americans.

De Lesseps, who has talked about her own Native American ancestry on the hit reality show in past seasons, uses the word “Indian” which sets off all the drama.

In an exclusive statement to Celebuzz, de Lesseps said, “I want to say that if anyone thought that something I did on last night’s episode was offensive, I’m sorry. To insinuate that I am insensitive or racist is insulting and flat out not true.”

What else did the Countess say?

During the episode, Radziwill told de Lesseps, “Everyone over third grade knows not to say ‘Indian.’ I thought they were making fun of people who have a history of being neglected, discriminated against and abused. And that is not something you joke about.”

LuAnn responded to her co-star: “Well, I guess I can because I am an Indian.”

Here is the Countess’ full statement to Celebuzz:

“Everything I say seems to bug Carole Radziwill. If I say tomato, she will say tomahto! First, I want to say that if anyone thought that something I did on last night’s episode was offensive, I’m sorry. To insinuate that I am insensitive or racist is insulting and flat out, not true.

“Let’s let the facts speak for themselves. The U.S. Census Bureau surveyed people of various races, asking what they liked to be called and over 49% of American Indians preferred to be called American Indian while 37% said that Native American was their preference.

“Furthermore, the museums dedicated to American Indian heritage in Washington, D.C. and New York City are both called the Museum of the American Indian. As The American Heritage Book of English Usage points out, ‘the acceptance of Native American has not brought about the demise of Indian.’ Now almost every style or usage guide describes these terms as synonyms that can be used interchangeably.

“Many people will no doubt favor one appellation over another — and will have strong reasons for doing so — but such choices are (or should be) no longer accompanied by a sense of righteousness that one term is superior to the other.

“Carole never passes up an opportunity to put me down and unfortunately this is what some people do to make themselves feel or look better.”

Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York City has become well known for its epic feuds: Bethenny Frankel versus Jill Zarin, Frankel versus Kelly Bensimon and last season’s the blondes versus the brunettes. Apparently, it’s a tough habit to break.

This season, Ramona Singer has set her targets on new castmate Heather Thomson and she hasn’t let up since.

What does Heather think of the ongoing feud with Ramona?

“Ramona has to pay attention to something else other than me,” the founder of undergarment company Yummie Tummie tells Celebuzz. “I’m way too heavily on her radar for someone who she doesn’t get, understand or like. It’s just getting kind of old.”

It all started when Singer told Thomson that she talked way too much and made it hard to have a conversation with her. That’s a bit like the pot calling the kettle black in this case and Thomson returned the criticism. Then, things blew up when Singer found out that she wasn’t invited to Thomson’s girls’ weekend in London.

“Ramona criticizes me for potentially being fake and some have said I didn’t invite Ramona to London for ratings,” she explains. “I didn’t even think about that. I’m too yellow-bellied to think about ratings. I wasn’t inviting Ramona to London, because I was worried about my brand.”

Fortunately for viewers (and those castmembers left behind), the London trips winds up on Monday’s episode. And it sounds as if fans will get a taste of new emerging feuds from the other ladies.

“You’ll start to see some other irritations with some of the other women, because up until now it has been very much Ramona and Heather,” Thomson tells us.

“I think you start to peer into some of the things that annoy the other women about each other,” she continues. “That’s going to happen and that’s the reality show. You put six women into a room together and they don’t all have to love each other and they don’t all have to hate each other, but there will be things that wear on people’s nerves.”

After all the drama Heather Thomson caused surrounding her London weekend trip (and not inviting Ramona Singer), Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York City finally hopped the pond on Monday’s episode.

Note: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t watched “The Cool Girls.”

LuAnn de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan and Carole Radziwill traveled to London to meet Heather as she finished her international sales meetings. Jetlagged and hungry, they met up with her at her final business dinner. But, they didn’t realize that they would have to be part of Heather’s cheesy marketing game in which everyone at the table had to stand up, introduce themselves and say why they loved Heather’s bodyshaping line, Yummie Tummie. Carole opted to take a stand by not standing. Good for her.

Clearly, the women seemed to enjoy each other’s company, but small annoyances began to rear their ugly heads. Notably, LuAnn’s need to one up others — especially Princess Carole. Insecure much, Countess?

Back in NYC, uninvited Ramona and flight-phobic Aviva Drescher took the time to hang out together. First, they went shoe shopping, which Ramona just couldn’t imagine for Aviva and her prosthetic leg. Ramona’s wide-eyed questions forced her fellow housewife to give her a full-on lesson of how she leads a fabulously well-hoofed life even with her replacement leg.

Later, the women and their husbands had dinner and Ramona was set on trying to make it seem like they were having a better time than the London crew. Except, Ramona, if you have to point out that you’re having a better time than the other women, it probably means you aren’t. I think Aviva would agree.

Buzz Moments

OMG!: It’s understandable that Ramona would have some questions about Aviva’s leg, but she really went embarrassingly overboard.

Thank you, TV gods.: Seriously, it’s about time the London trip happened. Ramona’s bids to try and get invited and Heather’s sort of insincerity about it had gotten very uncomfortable.

Awk-ward: The London crew is clearly trying to keep the peace, but little jabs here and there are showing some cracks in the foundation of their friendships.

Hotness: This is usually where we talk about the sexiest moment of the episode, but I can’t name one. But, I’m not sure if Heather was desecrating the memory of the former House of Dior by comparing her Yummie Tummie fashion to that of the designer label. But, holding her business dinner there was clearly haute.

Fab-u-lous: Hands down, high tea. I love that Sonja and Carole got really into it by wearing hats. LuAnn’s probably excused, since she’s been diagnosed with “pumpkin head.”

Can. Not. Wait.: More London! Also, I’m sure things are going to blow up once the London women come back from their trip and they begin to talk about what really annoyed them during the trip.

Although Jill Zarin is no longer on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York City, she did leave some loose ends that fans still wonder about – especially when it came to castmate Ramona Singer and her husband Mario’s fidelity.

During Season 4, the Zarin Fabrics queen mentioned on-camera that she had heard rumors that Singer’s husband was cheating on her. Singer says the two former castmates dealt with it when the cameras weren’t rolling.

What words were exchanged between the two off-camera?

“She apologized,” Singer, 55, tells Celebuzz. “Before she knew she wasn’t going to be asked back, she wanted to say she was really sorry. She said horrible things about Mario, too. There were other things, too, that were just as bad. She said to the press that at a party Mario hit her. He never hit her, but she did it to get into the press. She went to the press and made up anything to get her name in print. She is actually pathetic.”

Recently, Bravo had to squash reports that the fabrics queen would make a return to the series. And when we asked Singer about the networks’ statement on Zarin, she declined to comment specifically.

“Do you even want to give Jill more press?” she asks. “Do you even want to go there? How about no comment?”

That may be unavoidable. Zarin has been teasing a return to television since Bravo fired her and three other castmembers last September. This past week, it would seem that Zarin made good on her promise. She announced that she had just landed a special correspondent job on reality shows for ABC’s upcoming daytime show, Good Afternoon America.

A show rep could only confirm to Celebuzz that Zarin would appear on the Good Morning America spinoff next week.

Pretty much from the beginning of Season 5, original Real Housewives of New York City castmember Ramona Singer has had a hard time getting along with newbie wife Heather Thomson. And it seems the window for resolving their differences is closing.

“Expect a lot of conflict between Heather and I, because I keep calling her out on stuff,” Singer, 55, tells Celebuzz. “Either you agree with me or not, but it’s what I felt. There are a lot of things that happen. It was pretty wild. I have to say this is only the beginning. You just hit the top of the cake right now. You haven’t gotten into the center.”

What is at the center of Ramona and Heather’s conflict? The housewife gives her take…

It all started when Singer told Thomson that she talked too much and made it very hard to carry on a conversation. Instead of taking that as constructive criticism, Thomson was offended. Now as Singer watches the conflict unfold on camera, she says she knows why things got so bad between them.

“I watch the episode and anything negative she said about me was always behind my back,” Singer tells us. “She never said those things to me. She never said to me, ‘Oh, Ramona, I don’t think you like me.’ She never said to me ‘Ramona, you upset me when you said I talked too much.’ I rather she address those issues to my face.”

“Put it on the table,” she adds. “Say, ‘You know what, Ramona? I have issues with you.’ That’s what I would do. I was a little surprised by her betrayal and the way she handled it.”

On the last episode, things got “Ra-motional” at a party in honor of Singer’s friend and fellow housewife, Sonja Morgan. Morgan saw nothing wrong with Singer being left out of a girls’ trip to London that Thomson was organizing. That not only drove Singer nuts, but she also left the party early. In her defense, the Ramona Pinot Grigio founder says she had told Morgan that she had another event to attend that evening. Nevertheless, she didn’t stay mad at her friend for too long.

“When you are truly a friend, you can scream your head off and it’s forgotten,” Singer explains. “I guess things got a little emotional, it probably wasn’t the right time for me to get that way. But, you know what? It was something that was pent up and I had to let go. Sonia gets it. Sonia doesn’t judge me. Sonia accepts me for who I am and I accept her for who she is. At this point, I was just really annoyed that Heather couldn’t communicate with me.”
