Happy Wednesday, TV watchers. A lot happened on our TVs this week: the Grammy Awards aired, President Obama gave his State of the Union address, and… oh, hey, some of our favorite CW shows were renewed!

Celebuzz recaps many TV shows, but we also really love hearing from you. That is why we feature your comments about today’s best TV programs in a weekly feature called TV Recap: Fan Edition. It’s a good day for TV lovers.

On Monday, The CW announced that fan favorites The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural and freshman series Arrow will all be returning for the Fall 2013 season.

“We said last year that one of our goals was to establish building blocks to grow on, and now with our new hit Arrow and fan favorite Supernatural on Wednesday night, and the continued success of The Vampire Diaries on Thursday, we’ve been able to do that,” said network president Mark Pedowitz in a press release. ”Not only do Arrow, Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries perform well on-air, they’re also extremely successful for us both digitally and socially. I’m thrilled to have all three shows returning to our schedule next season.”

Heading to its fifth season, The Vampire Diaries – which stars Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley– shows no signs of slowing down as it remains The CW’s highest rated series for adults 18-34 and women 18-34.

Likewise, Supernatural, which will be heading into its ninth season, continues to be a ratings juggernaut with a 15 percent increase in viewers since paired with superhero drama Arrow this year.

Starring Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, Supernatural was also voted as the TV show with the most dedicated fandom amongst Celebuzz readers.

This Thursday’s episode of The CW’s The Vampire Diaries told quite the tale.

A mythology-heavy hour, “Into the Wild” sent most of the gang to an island off of Nova Scotia to teach us the story of Silas, the cure and the how and why of Professor Shane’s (David Alpay) quest. The episode also brought about an interesting alliance and a new hunter.

Most importantly though, it brought back Caroline (Candice Accola) and Tyler (Michael Trevino) as they dealt with a locked up Klaus.

Note: Spoilers ahead on Thursday’s episode, “Into the Wild.”

Silas and the very confusing tale of the cure. This episode delved deep into the cure’s creation as well as Silas and Shane’s stories and truthfully, it made me so confused my head hurt. So here goes nothing… Qestivah created the cure for immorality hoping Silas would take it and join her but when she found out he planned to use this spell on someone else, she was devastated and buried him alive instead along with the cure. Hunters were then created by her descendants so they could find him, cure him and then kill him.

So how does Shane fit in? Apparently, he had a wife who was a witch and a son who died. And when his son died accidently, she did all she could to bring him back, but she ended up dying in the process. Having heard there was a well where you could see visions of your deceased loved ones, he tried it out and saw his wife. It was there where she told him about Silas and what he needed to do in order to bring them both back including the magic of a witch and three massacres.

“You made her into a bomb only you can dismantle.” Which is where Bonnie (Kat Graham) comes in, who Shane tells Damon (Ian Somerhalder), “Bonnie has to keep me alive so I can keep her alive.” He’s the only one who can help her use Expression without going off the deep end and therein lies the importance of both of these characters. By episode’s end, Shane had her use a locator spell on Jeremy, who his friend (Qetsivah’s son?) had kidnapped for him. And now Shane is set to go.

The never-ending saga of Elena and the Salvatores. While I know Elena (Nina Dobrev) has always been, how did Rebekah (Claire Holt) once put it, “a child who only thinks about herself,” she really got on my nerves during this episode. How many times have Elena and Damon talked about how Elena will still love him after they find the cure? Like 70 times. I’m over it and don’t scream at me Delena fans but I’m kind of over them. Or maybe it’s just I’m over them looking for the cure? Either way they’re making me nuts.

What makes a miserable life? In case you weren’t clear on the difference between the Salvatore brothers, this episode laid it out explicitly. Damon thinks life as a human is the most miserable thing on earth whereas Stefan WANTS TO BE human as “every single moment of the last 146 years has been ruled by the pain of being a vampire.”

We’re the three best friends that anyone could have.Ok, not really but Elena, Stefan and Rebekah are now firmly on the same team in the race for the cure. All three characters want to be human and with their common goal laid out, an alliance has been formed. So after Rebekah freaks out when Silas’ headstone goes missing, Elena makes an offer of peace and hands over the white oak stake. Not that she trusts the original but like she said, “we’re either in this together or it’s over for all of us.”

A new hunter in town. Damon is in for some torture next week, as a member of The Five is on the island.

Klaus’ tears. Without a doubt, Klaus was the best part of “Into the Wild.” When Morgan’s eyes well up, I get emotionally involved. He was once again a rockstar on this episode and I really enjoyed the scene with Klaus and Caroline after his standoff with Tyler forces them to have a heart to heart as she almost dies. I also loved the flicker of hope the writers gave Klaroline fans when she told him, “because I’ve caught my self wishing I could forget all the horrible things that you’ve done.” While I could never really see a relationship between them happening, it would still be pretty fantastic.

Buzz Moments:

OMG: Klaus attacking Caroline made me gasp more than once!

Thank you, TV gods.: For the return of Caroline and Tyler. I missed those crazy kids.

Awk-ward: Bonnie might as well have said, “Hi Jeremy! Let me just rub my hands on your tattoo and then talk to you about it!” An unbelievably awkward moment.

Hotness: But then again Jeremy was rocking no shirt, so I think OK with a little bit of awkwardness.

Fab-u-lous: Elena’s winter hat, which looks like North Face though I’m unsure of the brand was adorable.

Can. Not. Wait.: For the gang to find the cure, or get rid of the cure. Let’s just get this cure storyline over with or at least put into high gear.

Celebuzz (1-10): 6. While I’m sure we needed to know the mythology laid out on “Into the Wild,” Thursday’s episode was a bit aggravating and confusing, save for the Klaus/Caroline/Tyler storyline.

Is it really possible for the two “couples” to come together for their common goal? We’ll have to watch and see!

The Vampire Diaries airs Thursdays at 8PM on The CW.

While we know that Elena (Nina Dobrev) and company are looking for the cure so that she can return to life as a human, Thursday’s episode of The CW’s The Vampire Diaries gave us a peek into the varying motivations of the Originals in finding the cure for vampirism.

Meanwhile, Rebekah (Claire Holt) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) continued their flirtation as she finally got to attend a school dance (sort of) and Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) unsuccessfully set out to kill Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and stop the search for the cure.

Note: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen Thursday’s episode, “A View to a Kill.”

“I don’t belong to the spirits anymore, I belong to myself.” Bonnie’s (Kat Graham) dad, Mayor Hopkins (Rick Worthy), went full force in trying to protect his daughter and Mystic Falls during this episode. Not only did he dump vervain in the water and set a curfew (thus canceling all town events), he also enlisted the big guns – Bonnie’s undead mother – to help save her from the magic Shane (David Alpay) says she can’t control. His only problem is that Bonnie’s use of Expression has far surpassed anything that either of them can do and from what we saw, she can MOSTLY control it. As Shane said, she is the key to everything when it comes to the cure. And I’m sure we’ll soon find out what that really means.

“You would have loved it.” The offset of all the action on Thursday’s episode was a pop culture-ridden 80s dance for two. Rebekah and Stefan were adorable as they danced to The Cure (of course) and talked about love and The Breakfast Club. It was upsetting that for most of the episode, it seemed Stefan was sort of playing her for access to the dagger, but luckily she isn’t stupid. When she handed over the dagger and told Stefan, “You’re right, I do care. I want stupid koala corsages. I want someone who stands outside my window with a boom box… I want to be human,” I really wanted that for her too.

“Be bad with purpose, otherwise, you’re not worth forgiving.” While babysitting the compelled Damon (Ian Somerhalder), Klaus (Joseph Morgan) took it upon himself to ask for some advice about love (Aw!). Pondering how Elena could possibly love Damon after all the vile things he’s done, the original vamp inquired as to whether there is more than the sire bond at work in his romance? Otherwise, how could he be forgiven? Damon’s advice – don’t be bad to be a dick, be bad for a reason.

The death of an original. While Elena’s plan may have been crazy, it worked, sort of. Jeremy killed Kol. And by episode’s end, his tattoo began to grow. Next stop on the “Amazing Race” – Nova Scotia.

Team Rebekah joins Team Shane. Stefan telling Rebekah that she has to “take a leap” and trust him, while somewhat far fetched after she’s been screwed over so many times, was exactly what I wanted to happen. I also really enjoyed Elena’s obvious reaction to their tryst. Now, while the Salvatores may still be at war with each other, their teams have seemingly joined forces or are at least “on the same side” to find the cure as Stefan brought Silas’ headstone to the house.

Team Klaus in a box. The teams better start looking fast as they will have an angry Klaus to deal with when all is said and done. To me, an angry Klaus is the best Klaus. Upon seeing his brother dead, a visibly upset Klaus revealed his true motive for finding the cure – to destroy it – and then promised revenge. He’s currently trapped in the Gilbert cabin thanks to Bonnie but with three days, possibly four to find the cure, they better get on it now. Hell hath no fury like Klaus scorned.

Buzz Moments:

OMG: Another episode where I didn’t find myself gasping, but I was surprised when Kol pierced Elena through the stomach with wood. I knew she’d somehow find her way out at some point, but it was surprising nonetheless.

Thank you, TV gods.: For an angry Klaus and more Rebekah and Stefan goodness. Morgan is fantastic when playing the character angry. And I enjoy the chemistry between Holt and Wesley immensely.

Awk-ward: Klaus asking Damon for love advice – I’ll file that under awkward, but cute.

Hotness: Ah! The tattoo is growing and Jeremy is ripping his shirt off like the Hulk!

Fab-u-lous: Rebekah’s 80’s dress was extremely cute. I haven’t been able to find any info on the where you can buy it yet, but am sure Possessionista will be on the case soon!

Can. Not. Wait.: To see what’s actually going to come of this cure storyline. Will it be enough for one? Will it not be there? Is Silas real? Lots of questions and I’m ready for some answers.

Celebuzz (1-10): 7. An overall good episode moving everyone another step closer to the cure. Could we move five steps next episode?

Things are bad between the Salvatore brothers on The CW’s The Vampire Diaries, like really bad.

Of course, when one brother sleeps with another’s ex — who just might be compelled to do so — you know the other is going to have a problem with it. So on last week’s episode when Damon (Ian Somerhalder) was compelled by Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) to kill Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen), it gave Stefan (Paul Wesley) the perfect opportunity to get some revenge for the sake of the cure. He bled out his brother and threw him in their house’s cell.

Now, a new clip from this week’s episode, “A View to a Kill,” shows that Stefan will enjoy Damon’s predicament for at least a little bit longer.

After enlisting Klaus (Joseph Morgan) to look after his older brother while he gets a dagger from Rebekah (Claire Holt), he tells the original, “Give him a vial of blood every few hours so he doesn’t desiccate. If he gets his strength back or if he just annoys you, bleed him out again.”

Ouch, Stefan. Klaus, of course, can’t let their conversation end without telling Damon that he caught Stefan sneaking away from Rebekah’s bed that morning.

“Well, well, looks like my brother ripped out a page of my revenge sex handbook,” Damon snarks at the news.

To which Stefan replies, “Why don’t you two enjoy your villain bonding time?” And it looks like they just might as the episode’s official description says Klaus will ask Damon for some personal advice.

Thursday’s episode of TVD will also feature Stefan making it up to Rebekah for missing yet another school dance. Can we all say, “Awww”?

How does a network figure out how many pilots it can green light for next season? Well, first they have firm up their inventory. That’s what’s going down for several TV networks as several renewal announcements are being given out on Tuesday.

CBS is holding on to its entire daytime lineup. In addition to The Young and the Restless, expect another season of The Bold and the Beautiful, the ladies of The Talk and game shows The Price Is Right and Let’s Make a Deal. [TVGuide.com]

CBS’ cable sister network, Showtime, was also making a clean sweep of renewals for its Sunday night lineup. Shameless gets a Season 4; House of Lies moves on to Season 3; and Californication will move on to its seventh season. All three series debuted on Jan. 13 to their biggest audiences ever and are averaging double-digit percentage increases over their previous seasons. [Showtime]

True Blood’s Alan Ball made the right decision when he decided to step down from his post as the showrunner for the hit vampire series in order to focus on his other projects, including Cinemax’s Banshee. The series, which stars Antony Starr as an ex-fugitive passing as a small town sheriff, has been renewed for a second season airing in 2014. The current 10-episode season airs Fridays at 10PM. BBC America/BBC One has renewed Ripper, its dark series about the aftermath of the “Jack the Ripper” murders set in 1889. It stars Matthew Macfadyen, Jerome Flynn and Adam Rothenberg. Season 2 will consist of eight episodes to premiere in 2014. [BBC America]

Ratings: The Following is gaining a following. The new FOX thriller starring Kevin Bacon is the only new drama this season to improve its numbers in Week 2. It also ranked No. 1 for Monday evening among the ad-coveted 18-49 audience. Bones, which led in to the new show, also saw an increase in its audience with 9.2 million viewers tuning in. NBC came in at No. 2 for the evening with The Biggest Loser and its new drama, Deception. [TVGuide.com]

Warner Bros. TV and The CW are excited to announce that last week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries took the top spot for social media activity. According to the announcement, “The Vampire Diaries fans threw a #TVDparty throughout social media last week, generating nearly 865,000 social interactions across Twitter, Facebook, GetGlue and Viggle according to Trendrr.TV, taking a bite out of former list topper American Idol and besting iconic hits such as The Simpsons, Family Guy and Glee.” [Warner Bros. On the midseason return of The CW’s The Vampire Diaries, we saw Elena (Nina Dobrev) give it to Stefan (Paul Wesley) straight — she isn’t in love with him anymore. Though the confession came while she under Rebekah’s (Claire Holt) compulsion, it was absolutely true. She loves Damon (Ian Somerhalder), sire bond or not.

And now it looks like the younger Salvatore is ready to move on as well. He’s gone long enough being a slave to his feelings for Elena, and Thursday’s episode showed he is more than ready to take a big leap away from the Petrova doppelganger.

Note: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen “Catch Me if you Can.”

“You don’t know what I look like when I’m not in love you.” BAM. Stefan Salvatore for the win. Hands down, the MVP of this episode of TVD was Wesley, who is simply fantastic when he’s playing a Stefan that doesn’t care for Elena. The truth is Stefan is a much more interesting and charismatic character when he’s not pining over Elena. Rebekah hit it on the nose when she described the baby vamp as a “child who only thinks about herself.” And damn, it was nice to see Stefan put her in her place for once. Is it just me or does it seem like Elena is getting more aggravating and annoying each week? Regardless, this exchange between the two exes brought us to…

“Crazy sex is always good.” After two scenes filled to the brim with sexual tension, Team Rebekah – Stefan and the original sister – got it on. The pair said there were “no feelings and no attachments,” but who are they kidding? Those agreements never really work. The former lovers went back to their fun ways from the 20s and I, for one, couldn’t be happier about this development and have fast it took place.

The Amazing Race. With the now retrieved headstone of Silas, Team Rebekah pulled ahead of Team Shane and Team Klaus during “Catch Me If You Can.” Let’s see if they can remain the top contender as the season progresses.

Elena’s plan. At the same time, Kol (Nathaniel Bulzoic), spent the episode vehemently against the gang finding the cure and therefore extending Jeremy’s (Steven R. McQueen) mark because of Silas. Apparently a group of Silas worshippers once told him his resurrection would bring forth the end of time and for an immortal this is just no good. Kol’s unsuccessful plan to kill Jeremy via a compelled Damon pissed Elena off so much that she’s decided her brother should go after the Original effectively killing off his entire sire line and thus leading to a full blown hunter’s mark. Two birds, one stone – plans like that never work in Mystic Falls. So just when exactly should we expect it to blow up? Meanwhile, Damon looks to be out of commission in the race as Kol’s compulsion is still active. He ended the episode locked in one of the cells.

The all mighty powerful Bonnie (Kat Graham). Team Shane attempts to recruit Bonnie by using the death of her Grams into helping him on his mission. The witchy Bonnie has more magic than ever at her hands now and loses control shortly after learning Shane’s (David Alpay) truth. And, of course, the good professor is the only one who can bring her back from the ledge. He tells Bonnie’s worried dad that without his guidance, his little girl is going to go off like a time bomb.

Some other moments I though were worth noting – Rebekah and Kol each threatening to dagger each other; Matt telling Elena the “old her” would never have trusted Damon; Klaus offering to keep Jeremy safe (for his own good of course); Stefan snapping Damon’s neck and saying, “You’re welcome,” to Elena.

Buzz Moments:

OMG: While no scenes on Thursday’s episode made me really gasp, I’ll have to go with the Stefan and Rebekah hook up. While I was expecting it to happen, I did not think it was going to happen so soon.

Thank you, TV gods.: Oh hey, Matt’s (Zach Roerig) still around! I feel like every episode he’s still alive is a good one since he’s technically our last non-supernatural human.

Awk-ward: Stefan’s smackdown of Elena. Awkward, necessary and so great.

Hotness: I can’t tell what was hotter – Stefan and Rebekah’s scenes leading up to the hookup or their tryst itself? Ah well, both were fantastic.

Fab-u-lous: While I don’t have any info about where it’s from, I really enjoyed Rebekah’s outfit in the episode. Cute and comfy.

Can. Not. Wait.: What will Elena think when she learns more details (ahem… the sex) about Stefan and Rebekah? THIS is going to be good.

Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) the vampire slayer is going into full effect on Thursday’s episode of The Vampire Diaries.

As we saw on The CW show’s fanastic midseason return, Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) new love, Damon (Ian Somerhalder), has been helping the younger Gilbert to hone his vampire hunting skills to keep him alive and grow his hunter’s mark. Impatient with his progress, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) decided to speed things up by turning a bar full of patrons into vamps.

Though he may not be happy with the Original’s plan, now it’s Jeremy’s turn to take some action and save Matt (Zach Roerig). In a new clip from the episode (watch it above) shows Damon and Jeremy getting ready to do just that.

“Listen just go one at a time, only shoot for the heart, don’t hesitate and don’t miss,” advises Damon on killing the vampires.

To which Jeremy retorts, “Save the teaching moment. Elena’s not here, you don’t have to pretend like you give a damn about me.” Of course, there is some classic Salvatore snark in return: “I’m trying to keep you alive you dumbass.”

According to the official episode description, Elena will go to Klaus at some point to protect Jeremy. But by episode’s end, she’ll have contrived her own possibly dangerous plan for her brother. Uh-oh!

Also expected on the episode are some good Rebekah (Claire Holt) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) scenes. Now that the two are pairing up to find the cure, could there be romance in their future? Not just yet of course, but another clip of the show shows Stefan sans shirts as Rebekah lies on his bed.

The Vampire Diaries airs Thursdays at 8 PM on The CW.

Claire Holt’s Rebekah ruled the school during Thursday’s midseason return of The CW’s The Vampire Diaries.

In one of the most fun, entertaining and informative episodes of Season 4 thus far, the original sister did what she does best – be the ultimate mean girl and drop some awesome one-liners – while manipulating the love triangle and getting some of the answers she wanted.

Rebekah also brought Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) back to town, making her return even more badass. My take on her return — Welcome back girl! We missed you!

#thebexfastclub. I think Rebekah may be a better mean girl then Regina George. The blond vamp gathered and compelled three of her least favorites – Elena (Nina Dobrev), Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candice Accola) — for some answers in what’s gone down since she was daggered. The biggest, of course, were about Elena and Stefan. And how uncomfortable was it to watch Elena tell Stefan all of her feelings for Damon (Ian Somerhalder)? Heartbreaking. I felt horrible for the younger Salvatore as he listened to her say, “I think I make him sad and I can’t be with someone like that because when he looks at me all he sees is a broken toy.” Eh, gut wrenching.

Then for a second, I almost thought Rebekah may go through with erasing all of his memories of Elena later on the episode. Obviously this wouldn’t actually happen as the Original sister wants her revenge, but I was momentarily shocked and saddened by his and Rebekah’s pain.

Those three little words. After she dropped a truth bomb to Stefan while compelled by Rebekah, Elena went and dropped another bomb to Damon – the “L” bomb. When Elena uttered, “I love you,” to Damon over the phone, I think I imagined every Delena fan’s brain exploding. (Hope you’ve recovered since then!) But as a TVDfan who is team Switzerland when it comes to the Salvatores, I have to say Somerhalder absolutely slayed this scene. I’m pretty he sure he portrayed at least a half a dozen emotions with his look. It was a great Delena moment.

The professor’s plan. The writers wasted no time in giving us more details of the Shane’s (David Alpay) plan on this episode, which I sincerely appreciated. Now, we just need to know the why. Apparently the massacres of the 12 council members and the 12 hybrids are all a part of the ritual to bring back Silas, who will then raise the dead. Original brother Kol is definitely not OK with this plan, but thanks to Bonnie’s (Kat Graham) training in the magic of Expression, the protection spell she enacted kept him alive, while almost killing April (Grace Phipps). According to Shane, Bonnie is the key to everything, which we know from TVD history is never a good thing.

Partners? Holt had told us that Rebekah and Stefan’s relationship would definitely be changed after this episode and it seems the two have formed a partnership. Since both are left with nothing and no one, they decide to team up to find the cure. Of course, for Stefan, part of his reasoning for doing so resides in really knowing where Elena’s true heart lies. I, however, hope these two eventually end up taking a romantic route. Rebekah was once in love with him, and who knows what could have come of the pair had Klaus (Joseph Morgan) not made Stefan forget about his sister?

Jeremy the Vampire Slayer. When Klaus is unhappy with Jeremy’s (Steven R. McQueen) progress as a hunter under the tutelage of Damon and Matt (Zach Roerig), he decides to take matters in his own hands. And by episodes’ end, Damon agrees, as they walk into a bar full of people in transition to the undead. I’m sure Damon’s along with the plan, in part, because of his love for Elena and promise to get her the cure, but it should be interesting what she really thinks about the plan when it’s revealed?

April. At the very end we see April telling Sherriff Forbes (Margaret MacIntyre) and new mayor (and Bonnie’s dad), Rudy Hopkins (Rick Worthy), about Shane’s involvement in the council explosion. She tells them, “It’s time people in this town start telling the truth.” So, will they?

Buzz Moments:

OMG: I’ll admit I gasped for a second when Stefan told Rebekah to take all his memories of Elena away but I was even more shocked when Elena told Damon, “I love you.” I wasn’t expecting that so fast.

Thank you, TV gods.: For Rebekah and Kol coming back! I’d like Elijiah (Daniel Gillies), too, please!

Awk-ward: Rebekah’s sick and twisted mind games made us cringe as Elena essentially took Stefan’s heart and stomped on it repeatedly.

Hotness: Hey Jeremy! Keep rocking that tank top!

Fab-u-lous: I loved Rebekah’s white tank, which thanks to coolspotters I found out was from Anthropologie. Unfortunately, it’s no longer available through the store’s site.

Can. Not. Wait.: Looks like Jeremy is going full slayer mode next week! Maybe he can hang with Buffy?! I kid. But really, I’m looking forward to seeing how Stefan and Rebekah’s relationship will continue to evolve.

Celebuzz (1-10): 8. Fun, funny, sad, and great; I really enjoyed this episode!

Gear up Vampire Diaries fans! Rebekah (Claire Holt) is back with a vengeance on The CW show when it returns Thursday night.

“Rebekah is really angry and looking for answers,” Holt told Celebuzz when we chatted with her about her character’s return to Mystic Falls. “I think that she goes about doing that in the way that is really the typical classic mean girl.”

“She gathers Elena [Nina Dobrev], Stefan [Paul Wesley] and Caroline [Candice Accola] in the high school and gets the answers she wants about the tattoo and the cure and Elena and Stefan’s relationship,” she continued.

Of course we should warn you, that she also threw around the words “psychological torture” and “revenge” when discussing her return. Uh-oh!

In addition to dishing on what to expect on the midseason premiere of TVD, Holt also gave us scoop about the return of Rebekah’s brother, her friendship with April (Grace Phipps) and a big change for Stefan and Rebekah’s relationship.

Celebuzz: Another Original, Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic), is back on “After School Special.” What can you tell us about his return to Mystic Falls?
Claire Holt: He and Rebekah sort of have a little alliance. She’s using him to help her by bringing Shane [David Alpay] to the high school. There are going to be some pretty violent results. Kol has some different motives, but right now she is using him to help her get the answers.

CB: What are Rebekah’s thoughts on the cure? Would she take it if given the opportunity?
CH: She definitely wants to find the cure. There’s always going to be that inner conflict between giving up immortality and the life of a vampire and becoming human. But, I think she wants to know what they’ve discovered since she’s been daggered and she wants to definitely go in search of it.

CB: Besides the cure, you noted that Rebekah also wants answers about Elena and Stefan’s relationship. What’s her reaction to the news?
CH: During her questioning, some really uncomfortable truths come to light and Rebekah loves that. Rebekah loves watching them both feel the pain that she feels they caused her in the past. So, it’s definitely going to be an issue and Rebekah is going to play on that. It’s sort of a messed up game of truth or dare with their feelings for each other.

CB: Is there a chance for a relationship with Stefan maybe? We hear there is a future episode where he will make it up to her when she, yet again, misses another school dance.
CH: I think their relationship is definitely going to change after this episode. They’re going to go on a journey to an island of Nova Scotia in search of the cure and the Rebekah/Stefan dynamic is definitely going to play a part on that journey. [As for the school dance,] Rebekah has always wanted to go to a school dance so there’s another disappointment for her in not being able to make it. Stefan definitely makes it up to her in some way.

CB: Rebekah’s new BFF April was the one to take the dagger out of her. What can we expect from their interactions on this episode?
CH: Rebekah is less focused on her friendship with April and more about using April. So, there will definitely be an interaction more along the lines of getting April to help her get the answers that she wants.

CB: The previews for Thursday’s episode also show Rebekah getting Tyler (Michael Trevino) involved in the situation. How does he factor in to her plan?
CH: In order to get him to the high school, she’s going to manipulate him as well. She’s going to use him as one of her pawns. It could have a violent end depending on – I don’t want to give too much stuff away, [so] I’m just going to say she uses him as part of her mind game and as a torture tactic.

CB: Though she spends much of the episode going after Elena, Stefan and Caroline, wouldn’t Rebekah rather go after Klaus, who betrayed her yet again?
CH: I think she really wants to take down Klaus. But at this point in order to get the answers that she needs, she has to use Stefan, Elena and Caroline. Klaus and Rebekah’s relationship is so fractured. I don’t know if it can be repaired. It would take a lot and I don’t know if Klaus is willing to give that or if Rebekah will ever forgive him.

CB: The April 25th episode of the show will serve as a backdoor pilot for a possible spin off about the originals with Joseph Morgan and Phoebe Tonkin (Hayley). Have you been approached about it at all?
CH: There will be a backdoor pilot. It’s Episode 20, I think. Joseph and Phoebe are amazing actors and it’s going to be a great show. Anything can happen. I think that’s more of a question for Julie [Plec] than for myself.

The first ever holiday episode on The CW’s The Vampire Diaries was a bloodbath… literally.

While we knew one character would be dying on “O Come, All Ye Faithful,” we didn’t anticipate the carnage that would come.

But the holidays weren’t just full of death in Mystic Falls, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) also made a big decision about his relationship with Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Jeremy (Stephen R. McQueen) attempted to train away his urge to kill his sister. Not many characters on the show had themselves a Merry little Christmas.

Note: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen “O Come, All Ye Faithful.”

Jeremy’s cured. Well not really, but by using Bonnie (Kat Graham) as an emotional touchstone for persuasion, the newly anointed hunter, actually, can I just call him slayer?, is able to be around his sister without wanting to murder her. The episode was not without a close moment between Jeremy and his vampire sister though.

Damon releases Elena. Despite Elena’s insistence, Damon succumbed to his guilt over the sire bond and lying to his brother and told her to leave. It was sad but I’m not necessarily sure how to feel about it quite yet. It seems their “relationship” can’t be ending as it did with a kiss goodbye and a lame “suddently every part of my body is telling me to leave you” comment. I want more.

“That little werewolf slut has lot her mind.” Ok first of all, that may have been Caroline’s (Candice Accola) best line on this episode. Second, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) and Shane’s (David Alpay) hidden agenda was nothing I anticipated. Apparently, they needed Klaus (Joseph Morgan) to sacrifice the twelve hybrids, but why? And what is this Cylus and the cure map deal? I need more back-story because I’m feeling confused. Though seriously, that scene where Klaus killed the hybrids — best part of the episode.  But I felt bad for Tyler. He was devastated when Hayley told him of her betrayal and then even more so when walking through the decimation of his pack. I can only imagine what he’ll do when he finds out that Klaus has killed his mom.

RIP Carol Lockwood.  You weren’t a great mayor but with your death, hopefully, comes some great storylines for Tyler. Poor kid can’t catch a break.

The Return of Rebekah (Claire Holt). While the original lady vampire wasn’t resurrected on this episode, April (Grace Phipps), who was rocking Jeremy’s vervain bracelet, found her casket and opened it to find the vamp daggered. With the preview for the next episode in January, we can assume that she helps put the original vamp back in action. I personally can’t wait to see the other originals as well. Paging Elijiah (Daniel Gilles), you’re wanted in Mystic Falls.

Buzz Moments:
OMG: I don’t care that Caroline didn’t die when Hayley snapped her neck…I literally covered my mouth with my hands.

Thank you, TV gods.: For Klaus’ artistic ability. How about those snowflakes, huh? Almost better than the horse he drew last season.

Awk-ward: Jeremy telling Elena she ruined their family, even if it wasn’t really how he feels, that hurts.

Hotness: Are those new hunter arms Jeremy?! Looks like the little Gilbert has got some increased strength and it comes with a nice set of biceps! Don’t mind me I’ll just be over here rewinding that scene on my DVR for a bit.

Fab-u-lous: As always there were lots of cute clothes in this episode, especially Caroline’s dress (anyone know where it’s from?) but I really loved Elena’s camel colored leather jacket. It’s available at Nordstrom.

Can. Not. Wait.: To get more information on Hayley and Shane’s plan and see the return of Rebekah and the other Originals.

Celebuzz (1-10): 7. While the episode was good, it was far from the best we’ve seen this season and the death, while sad, wasn’t all that shocking. I often have that ‘I need more feeling’ after a TVD midseason finale, and this episode has left me with an ‘I need to watch it again’ feeling.

Tyler’s (Michael Trevino) plan to take down Klaus (Joseph Morgan) with his pack of unsired hybrids is about to come to a head on Thursday’s first-ever holiday episode of The CW’s The Vampire Diaries and it appears that not everyone will make it out alive.

Candice Accola, who plays Tyler’s girlfriend and the object of Klaus’ infatuation, told Celebuzz that our nerves over the situation are justified: “I think there’s always reasons to be nervous when watching the show so I think that the viewers definitely have a lot to watch out for.”

Fans “already expect a certain amount of drama and craziness to happen so I think they’re already expecting a lot and the writers delivered.” And as always, she teased that you should definitely be ready for a cliffhanger on the midseason finale.

But how will this impact Tyler and Caroline? What does Accola think about ‘Klaroline’? Can we expect more BFF moments between the blonde vamp and Stefan (Paul Wesley)? We spoke with the actress to get all the answers you’ve been searching for.

Celebuzz: Caroline and Tyler haven’t had the happiest times in their relationship recently and now with them at odds on the plan to take down Klaus, what can you tell us about the tension they’re facing?

Candice Accola: This is kind of a very human thing for Caroline and Tyler to go through within their relationship. Their communication, just to be quite frank, sucks this week. It’s not been very good in the past weeks. I think what’s funny is that Caroline is just convinced that if Klaus can go away and Hayley [Phoebe Tonkin] can go away and all these plans can work out then magically Caroline and Tyler can be just be perfect together and live in this beautiful little Mystic Falls bubble.

Their disagreements are very human right now. They both are having perspectives on what they feel is right and neither one is really forgiving of agreeing with the other person so that is definitely a recipe for some miscommunication in this episode. There’s definitely conflict. Just because you love someone doesn’t mean that magically makes everything else go away so I think they are going to start realizing that, not just in this week’s episode but in episodes to come.

Celebuzz: Fans love everything about Klaroline, especially after that flirty adorable scene at Miss Mystic Falls. What is your take on their relationship? Is more flirting on the horizon?

CA: It’s just Caroline and Klaus being in conversation. She’s still not — By no means is Caroline like ‘Now I think he’s really cute and I really like this guy.’ There’s an ease to a conversation that’s also just really human. Tyler went to take care of himself and in doing that found a comfort and a friendship with Hayley. While Caroline was back in Mystic Falls, she was kind of using Klaus, or manipulating Klaus for the grand plan and in that came a different kind of comfortability in their conversation.

I think that that never went away and now that Caroline and Tyler [are] starting to be at odds against each other and their communication isn’t very strong we’re just going to see glimpses of Caroline searching for that communication with other people. I know that the viewers are going to read into them and by all means, have at it because I do really love those characters together and the dynamic that they have but I just don’t see the longevity in it and I don’t see any emotional truth to it. Sometimes if you’re going through some hard times, sometimes it’s just nice to have someone make you laugh when you haven’t had that with your partner in a while and I think that’s what Caroline is experiencing. I don’t think by any means does she like him. She just thinks that she’s laughing again for a second.

Celebuzz: We love the scenes we’ve seen between Caroline and Stefan this year. Their friendship has been a highlight of the season. How will it continue to develop throughout the course of the season?

CA: That’s something that’s very strong with Caroline and Stefan is their communication is just very on point. They’re very much on the same page. It’s nice. They trust each other’s judgments very easily. I love those scenes too because it’s just Caroline is so strong and comfortable and able to say things very clearly when she’s around Stefan. I love the dynamic of their talks.

They’re definitely on the same page with the plan that’s ensuing and I just love watching this friendship build. She is Team Stefan all the way. She knows that the root of him is a very selfless, good man and she wants that for her friend. She doesn’t want Elena [Nina Dobrev] to get hurt. That’s why she wants to just hit Elena over the head with a frying pan being like, ‘What are you doing? There is this great man that has done nothing but prove that he’s selfless and yea maybe he was the Ripper and maybe he messed up but he works on it. He wants to be better. Damon [Ian Somerhalder] never wants to be better. Damon’s always Damon.’ That’s very much the tone of what Caroline has been giving Elena.

Thursday’s episode of The CW’s The Vampire Diaries took us back to Bourbon Street to learn some very important things about present day Mystic Falls, including some insight into the vampire sire bond and Professor Shane’s (David Alpay) big plan.

The episode also gave us both Salvatores looking dashing in a uniform and the welcome return of Stefan’s BFF Lexie (Arielle Kebbel).

Note: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen Thursday’s episode, “We’ll Always Have Bourbon Street.”

Girls’ night. When the boys go to NOLA, the girls will play. With Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) headed to the Big Easy to figure out the hows and whys of Elena’s sire bond, Elena (Nina Dobrev), Caroline (Candice Accola) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) decide to have a slumber party, complete with some drinks and “spirit tea,” at the Salvatore mansion. While Caroline is super judge-y the whole night, especially once she finds out Elena and Damon have since slept together, it’s kind of hilarious and awesome. There’s some major tension, but in the end it’s all good between the three besties.

Tyler is the Top Dog. Julie Plec had told reporters that Tyler (Michael Trevino) becomes a hero this season and this episode of TVD definitely cemented him in that role. Kim, the hybrid we met last week whose sire bond was broken by Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), decided to take him on as leader of their pack by kidnapping Caroline. After she attacks Tyler, he takes her down, telling the other released hybrids that her revolt put them all at risk. Convincing his “troops” that they need to work together in order to defeat Klaus, Kim finally submitted and Tyler became the alpha wolf.

“The [sire] bond affects how you act, not how you feel.” Delena fans, hopefully, can breathe a sigh of relief after seeing this episode as we learned that the only reason Elena is sired to Damon is because of her human feelings for the older Salvatore brother. (See, their hook up wasn’t completely invalidated! The feelings are real!) Meanwhile, Back in 1942, another young lady, Charlotte (Madeline Zima) was also afflicted with a sire bond to Damon and has spent the last 70 years pining for him. But by episode’s end he set her free, which leads us to…

A selfless Damon. Despite Damon’s sometimes jack-ass ways, he really is a stand up guy. Back in 1942, at the bequest of Lexie, he let his baby brother go off to war alone so that his ‘live with no guilt’ ways wouldn’t influence Stefan to become the ripper again. Then, in present day, he was ready to break Elena’s sire bond by telling her that she is free, and thus never being able to be with her again. Of course, she stopped him before he could do so (at least by this episode’s end), but he was there ready to do the right thing even though, admittedly he doesn’t do that. Did anyone else’s heart want to break during that final scene? Seriously, the first and last five minutes of this episode were simply so fantastic – especially if you’re a big Delena fan.

Expression. During the Salvatores’ trip to New Orleans, we learned that expression is a deep and dark magic that requires a lot of sacrifices. And it appears this is the magic the good professor has been teaching to Bonnie. What will he use her and the 12 hybrids he made Hayley de-sire for? It’s not entirely clear to me just yet but given that the old witch in NOLA also mentioned the No. 12 too, I’m processing some theories.

“We’re the beginning.” Shane IS SO CREEPY. Recalling Pastor Young’s final words, Shane told Hayley that they are the beginning. What does that even mean? And will Hayley stick with him now that she knows her parents have died? So many questions, which I’m sure won’t have answers until after the New Year.

Buzz Moments:

OMG: Well this is weird…there actually weren’t any moments in this episode that made me gasp. I’d have to say this may be the first time I can ever say that for an episode of TVD.

Awk-ward: Will it ever not be awkward when Stefan walks into a room moments after Damon and Elena were locking lips? Though this week’s awkward moment upped the weirdness 10 times more from last week.

Celebuzz (1-10): 8. An overall great episode that clarified several things, featured some hot scenes and really fun action.

The holidays are coming to Mystic Falls on The CW’s The Vampire Diaries as the town is set to throw a major winter wonderland-themed bash for charity on next week’s holiday episode.

“The episode is very much about loyalty and relationships and betrayals and all that kind of drama that tends to come around family holidays,” executive producer Julie Plec told reporters.

And now Celebuzz has your first look at the holiday party in two exclusive photos featuring Candice Accola (who plays Caroline) and Michael Trevino (Tyler).

In the shots, the tension between the scheming lovers seems to be coming to a head at the charity event. With the holiday décor surrounding them, Caroline looks like she’s ready to blow at Tyler and his plan for Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and his hybrids.

Also at odds with Tyler – Caroline’s new BFF, Stefan (Paul Wesley). But when the blonde vamp tries to offer a possible solution to their disagreement, werewolf Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) will take issue.

Could it be because of her recently discovered (by the audience) partnership with Professor Shane (David Alpay)?

The good professor will become even more integrated into the group on “O Come, All Ye Faithful,” as he and Bonnie (Kat Graham) will help Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) work with Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) to conquer his vampire hunter urges at the lake house. Expect shocking news on this last episode before the New Year as well: Shane will reveal some history which will make jaws drop.

While the young ladies of Mystic Falls donned their prettiest dresses for the Miss Mystic Falls pageant, and Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas made an appearance on Thursday’s episode of The CW’s The Vampire Diaries, there were some MAJOR developments for Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder).

But the newbie vamp’s relationship with the sexy Salvatore wasn’t the only one which saw some progression on Thursday’s episode.

Note: Major spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen Thursday’s episode, “My Brother’s Keeper.”

Sired for sex? OK, “Delena,” fans take a breath and soak it in, because this is the moment that you’ve been waiting on for four seasons… Elena and Damon slept together. The problem is Caroline (Candice Accola) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) have an inkling that these feelings that Elena has for the “sneaky” Salvatore are a result of her being sired to Damon. Could this be true? Of course, it’s totally possible but I’m going to stick with this being just a theory for now. Though it’s also a theory I can’t believe I never thought of.

“Friend-tervention.” While I am firmly on Team Switzerland when it comes to picking which Salvatore I want Elena to be with (seriously, can’t she just be with both?), Caroline is clearly the president of the Team Stefan fan club. In fact she tells her BFF that the thought of her with Damon “makes [her] want to barf.” As the president, Caroline and Stefan shared some adorable scenes together throughout the episode. Her explanation to Stefan about Elena:  “You and her, epic, her [and] Damon, uh god.” I am kind of obsessed with their friendship.

Klaroline. Damon and Elena’s relationship wasn’t the only one developing during Miss Mystic Falls. Though Caroline only agreed to attend the event with Klaus (Joseph Morgan) to keep up Tyler (Michael Trevino) and Hayley’s (Phoebe Tonkin) plan and fufill her promise to have a date, the pair shared some poignant moments within the hour. With him opening up to her about the only moment he ever wanted to be human and teasing her by reading her Miss Mystic Falls application aloud, I could totally see this actually happening. I say, let’s do it. The duo have a good chemistry together. Also, the strings playing “Falling Slowly” from the film, Once, during their scene pretty much stole my heart.

Super Slayer Strength. Jeremy  (Stephen R. McQueen) the vampire slayer has got super strength and energy now that his hunter potential has been awakened. Too bad most of his friends are vampires. In the name of love and by Klaus’ order, Stefan gets Jeremy to kill a newborn vamp. But as his tattoo grows , so does his urge to kill the undead – especially his sister. With just two kills under his belt, he’s already thinking like “Connor 2.0.” And within the course of the episode, he attacks both his sister and Stefan. Seeing his difficulty in the situation, Elena takes it upon herself to move out of the house and tells Matt (Zach Roerig) to move in.

Hayley’s secret. Well wouldn’t you know it, the two newbies in town – Hayley and Professor Shane (David Alpay) – are in cahoots. Apparently breaking the hybrids of their sire bonds to Klaus is all a part of the plan, though Tyler of course knows nothing of that. Professor Shane also clued Damon in that whatever the hunter’s mark map leads to, only the magic of a Bennett witch can unlock it. Looks like Bonnie’s (Kat Graham) role just got bigger!

And the next Miss Mystic Falls is…. April Young (Grace Phipps).

Buzz Moments:

OMG: UM, ELENA AND DAMON SLEPT TOGETHER! And WHAT? He’s probably her sire?!?! Bananas.

Thank you, TV gods.: Can I use that last five minutes for all of our buzz moments? I’m pretty sure “Delena” fans are watching those last scenes on repeat for the rest of their night.

Awk-ward: “Hey boys, I’m moving in!” Stefan’s exit as Elena let he and Damon know she would be living with them was awkward to say the very least. It was also kind of sad.

Hotness: Again, Elena and Damon’s bedroom romp has to take this. Though, Wesley opening the episode with push ups comes in a close second.

Fab-u-lous: I was loving everything about Dobrev’s look at Miss Mystic Falls from the dress to the earrings to the fishtail braid. While I have yet to be able to find where to get that dress, the earrings are here.

Can. Not. Wait.: A flashback to the past complete with a guest spot by Arielle Kebbel (Lexie). Get us to Bourbon St. stat.

Celebuzz (1-10): 9. While I’m still processing the implications of all that went down on the episode, this was definitely one of the best episodes of the season thus far.

Thursday’s episode of The CW’s The Vampire Diaries features a return to one of our favorite events in Mystic Falls and a very special guest star.

Women’s Gymnastics All-Around Gold Medal Olympian Gabby Douglas will be popping up in Mystic Falls on Thursday’s episode as Elena (Nina Dobrev), Damon (Ian Somerhalder), Caroline (Candice Accola), Tyler (Michael Trevino), Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and all of our favorites attend the annual Miss Mystic Falls pageant.

Douglas, who is a massive fan of the show, nabbed her guest spot after her medal-winning summer in London. During the Olympics, the “flying squirrel” had exchanged tweets of admiration with executive producer Julie Plec. Then in August, the cast made a video congratulating the Olympian and her fellow Fierce Five teammates on their individual and team performances.

In these recently released photos we see the cast including Dobrev, Somerhalder, Accola and Steven R. McQueen getting cozy with the Olympian and her medals on the Atlanta set of The CW show. The pictures also appear to show the Olympian  picking a side amongst the Salvatore brothers as she is seen holding an “I heart Damon” shirt.

With the Olympian appearing to be Team Delena, she will definitely love this episode as Elena and Damon appear to be getting close after the breakup of Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Elena in the most recent episode.

Tension between the brothers will also be at an all-time high. In the most recently released clip of the episode, fans saw the two discuss the couple’s epic breakup as Stefan tells Damon, “Let’s not pretend this isn’t the best day of our life.”

FOX’s The Mindy Project will be seeing some cast changes from its series. Amanda Setton, who portrays sexy receptionist Shauna will be written out of the show mid-season, while Anna Camp‘s Gwen is being bumped to a recurring role. [EW]

Law & Order veteran Dennis Farina has been cast to play Nick’s (Jake Johnson) scam artist father in a 2013 episode of New Girl. In the story, Nick is highly suspicious about his dad’s impromptu visit, though Jess (Zooey Deschanel) couldn’t be more delighted to meet the elder Miller. [TVLine]

Judd Apatow‘s The Simpsons episode is getting made — more than two decades later. The FOX series’ executive producer Al Jean confirmed that the script the Knocked Up and This Is 40 writer-producer-director penned 22 years ago will (finally) air next season. [EW]

Whitney Cummings has announced the first guest on her new E! talk show, Love You, Mean It With Whitney Cummings. The Office and The Mindy Project star Mindy Kaling is set to appear on the inaugural episode. Will Ferrell, Lizzy Caplan and Ginnifer Goodwin will also be guests in the near future. [E! Two new faces are heading to Mystic Falls as Camille Guaty and Charlie Bewley will guest-star on at least two episodes of The CW’s The Vampire Diaries. Guaty, whose credits include Prison Break and Las Vegas, will play Caitlin, a woman from Professor Shane’s (David Alpay) past. [TV Guide]

Sitcoms across the board failed to make people laugh and many comedies suffered a ratings drop on Tuesday night. FOX’s New Girl took a hard hit and managed to rake in only 4.1 million viewers, falling two tenths to a series low. Meanwhile, NBC’s The New Normal hit a new low in their demographic, drawing in only 4.35 million viewers. [TVLine]

It’s time for Mike Rowe to clean up his act. After eight seasons, the Dirty Jobs host announced that the Discovery series has indeed been canceled. “A few weeks ago, I was officially informed that Dirty Jobs had entered into a new phase,” host Mike Rowe wrote on his blog. “One I like to call, ‘permanent hiatus.’ Or in the more popular industry vernacular, canceled … Dirty Jobs is a very personal show, and it’s difficult for me to imagine a future that does not involve exploding toilets, venomous snakes, misadventures in animal husbandry, and feces from every species.” [EW]

Though recently canceled, ABC’s Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue will not leave fans hanging, promises their respective showrunners. “We have time to tweak,” Last Resort creator Shawn Ryan confirmed, adding that Episode 13 will serve as a full-fledged series finale. Meanwhile, 666 executive producers David Wilcox and Matt Miller teased that the show “is building to a powerful and surprising series finale, where all your questions will be answered. We hope fans of the show continue watching all the way to the end of Jane and Henry’s incredible journey to the dark side.” [TVLine]

Thursday’s episode of The CW’s The Vampire Diaries was all about Elena (Nina Dobrev) dealing with the consequences of her actions while recognizing that her undead status has changed her from the person she was once was.

With these consequences came the reemergence of Katherine (who again had some great lines), the fallen hunter, Connor (Todd Williams) and Elena’s mother. As these apparitions tortured Elena, information was revealed about “The Five” and a major development in the love triangle to beat all love triangles came to.

Note: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen Thursday’s episode, “We All Go a Little Mad Sometimes.”

Is this the end of Stefan and Elena? It’s been fairly evident, that Elena’s new status as a vampire has changed her in more than just the fact that she’s dead. Stefan (Paul Wesley), recognizing that, sent Damon (Ian Somerhalder) to help her get through this tough situation. Then at the end of the episode, it happened – Stelena broke up.

Elena admitted to the softer Salvatore that something has changed between her and Damon since she became a vampire. Heightened emotions, Stefan suggests. Hearing this though, he tells her, “When I was the ripper, I understood why you cared for him but now I can’t do this Elena – not anymore.”

So what does this mean for Delena fans? Well, there sure is going to be a present of an episode for you when the show returns after Thanksgiving. Stefan and Elena have broken up plenty of times before but this time it looks like things will be different. I can’t wait to see how!

Hallucinations. As for what we saw on the rest of the episode, things picked up where we left off last week with Elena suffering major consequences for murdering Connor. Little did we know that she would often hallucinate other people like Stefan and Jeremy were these blasts from her past leading to some shocking scenes.

Apparently Klaus (Joseph Morgan) has been there too, as he informed the gang that he suffered from these hallucinations for more than 52 years after he killed all of “the five” in the 1100s. He tries to help Elena but as it always happens on this show plans go awry.

Wait, am I watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer? With all these ghosts trying to convince a vampire to commit suicide by sunlight (ala Angel in the “Amends” episode of Buffy) and talk of potentials and “chosen ones,” I was getting some major BTVS déjà-vu. Not a bad thing, but definitely something to note. And also if you haven’t seen Buffy… get thee to Netflix NOW.

The game of Caroline, Tyler and Hayley. As teased by both Julie Plec in our recent interview with her, Caroline (Candice Accola), Tyler (Michael Trevino) and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) are playing Klaus in order to enact Tyler and Hayley’s plans to de-sire the hybrids. It looks like things are a go with the plan until Tyler gets very jealous when he learns Caroline made a date with the original.

The Klaus/Caroline scenes on this episode were fantastic and left us wanting more of the duo. This situation also brought us some terrific acting by Trevino. I especially enjoyed his scenes at the end of the episode when he was lamenting his friend and fellow hybrid, Chris.

The creepy Professor. Professor Atticus Shane (David Alpay) has got some explaining to do. After filling Damon and Bonnie (Kat Graham) in on how to stop Elena’s hallucinations, viewers learned that this mysterious man has connections to April (Grace Phipps), Pastor Young and the Founder’s council. With some detective work by Matt (Zach Roerig), it was revealed that the Pastor had a standing phone call with the professor. And on the day he blew up the council, he called him 10 times!

Buzz Moments:

OMG: Elena, thinking he is Connor, STABS JEREMY in the neck! What a way to start the episode! I literally gasped out loud.

Thank you, TV gods.: The return of Katherine, even though it was just for this episode, was more than welcome. I’ve missed that sassy vamp so much! And kudos to Dobrev, who always plays the original Petrova and Elena so distinctly that I often see them as two completely separate actresses.

Awk-ward: Caroline bringing Tyler his box of things for their “breakup” while Klaus and Hayley look on. Awkward and Hilarious.

Hotness: There actually wasn’t too much hotness in this episode (What’s with that, huh?), but we wouldn’t mind Connor coming back in his tank top.

Fab-u-lous: I would KILL for Dobrev’s hair as Katherine. It is perfect.

Can. Not. Wait.: For Miss Mystic Falls! An episode of TVD, which features a town event, is often one of the best of the season! I’m looking forward to what is definitely going to be a heavy Delena episode.

Celebuzz (1-10): 8. Shock, sadness, happiness– this episode pretty much made me feel most emotions and was probably one of my favorites so far this season.
