The 31-year-old R&B singer and brother to Brandy attended the 2012 Billboard Music Awards only to end up going to the hospital the following morning, his rep confirms to Celebuzz. While TMZ is reporting that a confrontation with the late Whitney Houston‘s family member Pat Houston led to Ray J’s hospitalization, his rep tells us,

“He’s been working too hard. He did a concert in China and is working on a new business over there.”

The rep of the For the Love of Ray J reality star’s brother adds,

“All the rushing around and travelling wore him out.”

According to TMZ, Ray J is still in the hospital.

However, on Sunday, Bobbi Kristina looked as composed as she could be on stage, where she stood by Patricia Houston, Whitney’s manager and sister-in-law.

Whitney, who was 48 at the time of her death, was being honored with the Millennium Award, in a tribute that featured performances by her Sparkle co-star Jordin Sparks and John Legend.

Details have emerged of the contents of an affidavit that a top Hollywood lawyer sent to Beverly Hills police investigating Houston’s Feb. 11 death. She was found submerged in the bathtub of her hotel suite, though the case was closed Apr. 12 when it was determined there was no foul play.

According to the sworn affidavit, a copy of which Celebuzz has seen, “Raffles used to pick Federal Express packages from the front desk or concierges at the various hotels they (Whitney and Bobby) stayed at.”

It added, “These packages would have completed air bill’s on them but where not shipped overnight but rather dropped off by “runners” through Bobby Brown’s contacts. These packages contained cocaine among other drugs.”

The document was first obtained by investigative journalist Jacky Jasper who publishes the urban site Diary of a Hollywood Street King and has been probing Van Exel.

The claims made in the affidavit, made under penalty of perjury, appear to contradict Brown’s statement on Wednesday to NBC’s TODAY show, in which he said he has been unfairly accused of contributing to his ex-wife’s drug problem and subsequent death.

“I didn’t get high before I met Whitney,” Brown told Matt Lauer, in the interview below.

“I smoked weed, I drank the beer, but no, I wasn’t the one that got Whitney on drugs at all.”

The R&B singer-songwriter said Houston was taking drugs “way, way before” their 16-year marriage began in July 1992.

“It’s just unexplainable — how one could, you know, (say that I) got her addicted to drugs. I’m not the reason she’s gone,” Brown said.

The affidavit was written by a secret witness whose identity has not yet been revealed.

In another passage, the individual claimed Van Exel, a Dutch entertainment consultant who has gone to ground in the wake of Houston’s death, boasted about his ability to obtain crack cocaine for his friends. The document stated:

“Whenever there were fights between Bobby and Whitney he was the one that brokered peace. At learning that he used to be Whitney’s assistant, I jokingly asked: “So where do you get crack at 3 in the morning?” He immediately picked up his Blackberry, started to laugh loudly and asked me: “Which city?” He was actually ready to look through his Blackberry had I responded with a city. Although he continued to laugh, he proceeded to tell me: “I’m serious.”

Van Exel has not responded to multiple requests for comment from Celebuzz.

Most recently, The Daily Beast offered an even further in-depth look into the Grammy winner’s addiction through the years, with a friend of Whitney’s claiming the singer would “spend thousands of dollars a week buying drugs and stockpile it in the house so she wouldn’t run out.”

So, why didn’t her friends and family step in?

“The family was afraid of the embarrassment on some level and wouldn’t confront her early on,” Monique Houston, who married Gary Houston and divorced him in 2001, tells the Beast. “Her mother would always say, ‘I don’t understand this drug thing.’ And she didn’t. They let it get too bad before they understood she needed serious help, and then it was too late.”

As for the assumption that Whitney was introduced to drugs by her ex-husband Bobby Brown, Monique says that isn’t the case. “Drugs were around her for years before she met Bobby and continued after he left. It was worse when they were together, but he didn’t cause it.”

However, a close friend to the late singer speaks out about the couple’s tumultuous relationship and the ups and downs they shared while they raised their daughter Bobbi Kristina, now 19.

“Bobby liked to drink, and when he was drunk, he was really mean and nasty. He’d spit at her and throw things at her, all in front of Bobbi Kristina,” Whitney’s friend recalls. “During one of Brown’s attempts at sobriety in the late ’90s, Houston decided to go along on the tour, baby daughter in tow, to support him. Brown had just come back from a stint in rehab, but Houston continued to use cocaine in front of him. Brown was so enraged he ordered her and Bobbi Kristina off the bus in the middle of the road, forcing another band member to pick them up.”

The holiday comes less than 24 hours after a final Los Angeles County coroner’s report was handed down.

It described how the singer, 48, was discovered submerged face-down in a water-filled bathtub of her Beverly Hills hotel suite, with drug paraphernalia near by. 

Despite a denial that the late pop star’s only child is engaged to Nick — who Houston took in when he was 12 years old and raised him and Bobbi Kristina as “brother and sister” — the pair are dating, a source close to the pair told Celebuzz.

With the full toxicology and autopsy report, the late singer’s sister-in-law Pat Houston is finally admitting she no longer believes there was foul play (via TMZ.) Back when she was interviewed by Oprah Winfrey last month, Pat told Oprah she did not know how Whitney ended up in the tub, suggesting her death was something other than an accident.

The coroner’s final report is still up for debate though with Dr. Drew Pinksy admitting the case shouldn’t be closed because there are other factors that suggest “the possibility of foul play.”

Dr. Drew, along with Celebuzz Editor in Chief Dylan Howard, analyzed the full coroner’s report on-air Wednesday, a document that determined the 48-year-old diva died of an accidental drowning with the “effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use” as contributing factors.

“This theory that she had some sort of heart problem, I take issue with that,” Dr Drew, who did not treat Houston, told his audience.

“She had mild — not even mild — minimal heart disease. Sixty percent coronary stenosis is something that no doctor would do anything with, because it is harmless.”

The report stopped short of detailing how Houston ended up face down in a tub of “extremely hot water,” that was determined to be about 12 inches deep.

Dr. Drew suggested the songstress might have suffered a seizure brought on by the use of cocaine, possibly combined with a withdrawal from alcohol and a prescription sedative.

“The theory that they are trying (to have us believe) that she must have had a rhythm disturbance in her heart, or maybe a clot that formed in one of her arteries,” he said.

“Neither of which there is any evidence of in this report. That’s a pure guess.

“I say there is another clue in this: her being upside down in the bathtub… and low levels of Xanax in her blood, in spite of empty pill bottles behind her bedside.”

He added, “Here’s a way to induce a seizure: not taking Xanax after having been on it for a period of time, the blood level goes low, (chance of a) seizure goes up.

“Cocaine induces seizure as well, cannabis is of no help here. She is on all these things that can create a seizure. Everything looks like she had a seizure and they (the Coroner’s office) are not saying seizure.”

Said Howard: “This is perplexing… When she was declared dead at 3.46 in the afternoon — the temperature of the water was not taken until later that night, at 9.35 p.m. — and it was 93.5 degrees, six hours after she was declared dead.”

“How is that even possible?” Dr Drew queried.

“I feel that this report provides more questions that it does answers,” said Howard, to which Dr. Drew responded: “I completely agree with you.”

Dr. Drew Pinsky is a nationally renowned addiction medicine specialist, the host of HLN’s primetime Dr.Drew  on HLN (9pm ET & PT) and Dr. Drew’s Lifechangers on the CW. He can also be heard on the nationally syndicated “Loveline” radio program.

Whilst Houston’s Feb. 11 death was deemed an accidental drowning with the “effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use” as contributing factors, the 42-page document was short on an explanation of how the singer’s body become face down in a tub of hot water about 12 inches deep.

According to the report, Houston was last seen alive by her personal assistant in her Beverly Hilton hotel room at about 3 p.m. that Saturday.

The assistant left to run errands at Nieman Marcus after telling Houston, 48, to take a bath in preparation for Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy Awards party at the hotel that night, it said.

When the assistant returned to the locked room at 3:35 p.m. she found the multiple Grammy-winner “lying face down in the bathtub filled with water, unresponsive.”

“The assistant called for her bodyguard and together they pulled the decedent out of the bathtub,” the report stated.

Investigators also found “a small spoon with a white crystal like substance in it and a rolled up piece of white paper,” it was also revealed.

Along with cocaine, the toxicology tests, now released in full, established other drugs were in the diva’s body, including marijuana, the anti-anxiety drug Xanax, the muscle relaxant Flexeril and the allergy medicine Benadryl.

Beverly Hills Police Department Detective Eric Hyon told the corner that “the water temperature in the bathtub was 93.5 degrees” at 9.35 p.m., the report revealed.

Paramedics determined death much earlier in the day — at 3.46 p.m., he said — but investigators did not test the temperature of the water earlier.

In the 42-page document, it is reported that a “spoon with a white crystal-like substance on it” and a “white powdery substance” — later tested for cocaine — were found in the suite at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Other developments include:

• A Beverly Hills Police Department detective said he found a “small spoon with a white, crystal-like substance in it and a rolled up piece of white paper.” 
• He also said, “located in the top drawer … were remnants of a white powdery substance and a portable mirror on a base.” 
• First responders found Houston, 48, “lying supine on the floor in the central portion of the living room floor.” Earlier, she had been pulled out of the bathtub by an assistant and bodyguard who found her “face down” in the water.
• Evidence collected from the scene included a “plethora of prescription medication bottles, prescribed to the decedent, multiple blister packs and a loose tablet.” Other medication bottles and loose tablets were also collected. 
• Toxicology testing showed cocaine, benzoylecgonine , cocaethylene, marijuana, alprazolam (Xanax), cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril), and diphenhydramine (Benadryl).
• During the autopsy, it was discovered that she had perforated nasal septum.
• The autopsy showed atherosclerotic heart disease (a condition in which plaque builds up inside the arteries).

In a recent interview, the diva’s mother blasted media reports that her daughter died broke.

“Whitney did not die broke. She’s not broke. She’s not anything … None of that crap,” Cissy Houston said in an exclusive interview on My9′s The 10 O’Clock News, that aired Monday.

“They think they know everything,” she said, referring to the tabloids. “These people don’t know anything about her. The media doesn’t know what they are talking about.”

The Los Angeles County coroner’s office is preparing to release its full report into the death of singer Whitney Houston as soon as Wednesday afternoon, Celebuzz has learned.

Multiple sources inside the coroner’s office have confirmed that the investigation into the diva’s bathtub drowning is finally complete — almost two months after she died, on Feb. 12 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in in Beverly Hills, Calif.

“The preliminary release (on March 22) was the initial finding of the the L.A. County Department of the Coroner,” one source told Celebuzz.

“What is going to come out now is the investigators’ report, detailing the full autopsy, toxicology, neurology and other elements — it’s the whole big thing.”

Another source said: “The reports are ready, but we’re not sure when they are to be released — today or tomorrow.”

All physicians and pharmacies with ties to Houston were contacted as part of the probe, sources added. Family members were also interviewed as part of the death investigation.

In its initial report, the official cause of death for Houston, 48, was listed as drowning and “effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use.”

In addition to the coroner, the Beverly Hills Police Department is investigating.

It has not responded to our request for comment, though in a statement to Celebuzz on March 30, Lt. Mark Rosen said the “investigation is still open pending receipt of the final report from the Coroner’s office.”

On The Today Show Monday morning, a teaser trailer for Sparkle was released, and the “I Will Always Love You” singer is showing off her acting chops for the first time in 16 years. The last film Whitney acted in was The Preacher’s Wife in 1996, where she shared the screen with Denzel Washington.

Though Whitney had some very public struggles in her last few years, as expected, the diva is shown singing in the trailer, and it appears as though she still had it.

The film also stars American Idol winner Jordin Sparks, and is expected to mirror a bit of Whitney’s own life, with a plot as follows:

“Three sisters form a successful singing group and must deal with the fallout of fame and drugs.”

It’s expected to hit theaters on August 17, just a little over a week after what would have been Whitney’s 49th birthday on August 9.

The 19-year-old has been cast in a new TV role, according to a People source. She will reportedly appear as a recurring character on Tyler Perry‘s For Better or Worse — which is a continuation of his Why Did I Get Married? film franchise.

“I have to carry on the legacy,” Bobbi Kristina told Oprah during her OWN special. “We’re going to do the singing thing. Some acting, some dancing.”

Her big break is also a convenient one — Tyler’s production studio is located in Atlanta, where Bobbi Kristina lives. 

The second season of For Better or Worse is shooting now. It will premiere in July on TBS.

Perry is a dear friend to the Houston family. After Whitney’s death, he provided his own personal jet to fly her back to the funeral service.

When asked if she was proud of her daughter and the choices she made, Cissy insisted she raised Whitney the best way she knew how.

“I know I did the best I could,” she said. “I don’t blame myself. I know I did the best I could for everything.”

Houston died on February 11 in her hotel room at the Beverly Hilton. She was discovered in the bathroom of the suite, where investigators found prescription pills.

The official cause of death was determined to be an accidental drowning, although other medical issues — such as cocaine use — were listed as contributing factors.

As the Beverly Hills Police Department probe how Houston acquired the drugs that contributed to her death and whether they were hidden from police and first responders, prominent attorney Ronald Richards has come forward and revealed he received a sworn statement from a Dutch national.

The “material witness” reportedly had an extensive history with Raffles van Exel — a Dutch entertainment consultant — who admitted he removed items from Houston’s Beverly Hilton suite, as Celebuzz previously reported.

“I have received a properly executed affidavit from a material witness who has first hand knowledge of Raffles narcotics related activities,” Richards told Celebuzz, in a statement.

“He/She had extensive involvement with him. The witness has no motive or claim against Raffles and simply wants the BHPD to utilize him/her in any fashion they choose. I have transmitted the affidavits to a homicide Detective and I am waiting his/her response.”

Richards added, “The BHPD has been given his/her full name.”

When asked about the affidavit, Beverly Hills Police Lt. Mark Rosen told Celebuzz that their “investigation is still open pending receipt of the final report from the Coroner’s office.”

“The integrity of our investigations prevents me from commenting on open cases,” he added.

Van Exel has not responded to multiple requests for comment from Celebuzz, as stories about his involvement with Houtson dominate blogs, including journalist Jacky Jasper’s urban site Diary of a Hollywood Street King, which has been investigating the Dutchman and first reported about the affidavit.

Houston, 48, died on Feb. 11. She was found submerged in the bathtub of her hotel room.

Whilst her death has been ruled as accidental, several bottles of prescription medications were found in her hotel room and traces of cocaine were found in her system.

The late Whitney Houston‘s ex husband has had more than a few run-ins with the law.

He already has one DUI on his record, and Bobby was also arrested for battery in 2003 and again for a parole violation in 2004.

In an interview with respected Dutch newspaper The Telegraph on February 15, just four days after the singer’s death, Raffles van Exel confessed: “The room had to be emptied.”

“Someone had to do it,” van Exel told the newspaper, according to a translation of the article published online. 

Van Exel stopped short of telling The Telegraph what exactly he removed from the suite and he has not returned Celebuzz’s request for comment. 

Last week, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office declared Houston, 48, died from an accidental drowning in a hotel bathtub with the “effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use.” 

Sources tell Celebuzz that Beverly Hills police are still investigating how Houston acquired the drugs that contributed to her death and whether they were hidden from police and first responders.

No cocaine or drug paraphernalia were found in the suite at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif., the source adds.

However, Houston’s cocaine use appeared to have occurred “in the time period just immediately prior to her collapse in the bathtub at the hotel,” Chief Coroner Craig Harvey said when he announced the findings of his report, last week.

“(Houston’s case) is still an open investigation for us… I can’t disclose any details about the investigation,” BHPD Lt. Mark Rosen told People on March 23.

In various media released, Van Exel, a Dutch national, touts himself as a “highly respected entertainment consultant” who has “guided some of the world’s most acclaimed executives and celebrities.”

His relationship with Houston and other stars, including late King of Pop Michael Jackson, have been the focus of investigation on two websites, including the urban blog Diary of a Hollywood Street King and Forbes.

Whilst Houston death was caused by accidental drowning, the Los Angeles Assistant Chief Coroner Craig Harvey said the singer used cocaine “in the time period just immediately prior to her collapse in the bathtub at the hotel.”

However, no traces of the drug were found in Houston’s suite at the Beverly Hilton when she died on February 11.

TMZ reported the individual who removed the cocaine was also the person who supplied it to 48-year-old Houston.
