In HBO’s latest film, Game Change, Julianne Moore takes on the role of Sarah Palin (the 2008 vice presidential Republican nominee) and is so dead on in her portrayal, it’s a little scary. Documenting her rise from Alaskan governor to VP nominee, and the many infamous moments that came from her campaign (“I can see Russia from my house!”), the film debuts on HBO this March.

Julianne wouldn’t be the first actress to take on the role of a real life person.

While HG is hitting theaters on March 23, 2012 and Catching Fire is set for November 2013, Woody Harrelson sat down with MTV and accidentally mentioned (while talking about his “marvelous” co-stars) that he had signed on for “four friggin’ movies.” (!)

So does this mean we’ll get at least one extra dosage of Katniss, Peeta and Gale?!

We’re not 100% sure!

There is definitely a lot to cover in these books, so it would make sense to break it up.

The Hunger Games, starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth, is based on Suzanne Collins‘ popular book series about a dystopian future where kids from the age of 12 to 18 are sent to an area to fight to the death — all filmed on live TV.

Woody also mentions in the interview that his brother Brett inspired Haymitch’s long ‘do, and also says the film will be like “nothing you’ve ever seen before.” Check out what else he has to say in the interview!

The latest actor to do so? Woody Harrelson, who plays the hard-drinking Haymitch Abernathy, mentor to Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) as they prepare to enter the deadly arena.

The Oscar nominated actor opened up to 24 Frames (via the LA Times) and said that although Haymitch (and the book in general) definitely has a dark side, he tried to play it with as much humor as possible.

Harrelson told 24 Frames:

“It was my objective to give the character as much comedy as I could without it seeming not to fit. I tried to take a certain comedic aspect and give a sense, through that, that he’s been through a lot and is anesthetizing himself as a result of that.”

Haymitch is the sole District 12 victor, and has spent a number of the last years watching young kids go to the arena and die immentent deaths which is a large reason for his drinking problem.

“I didn’t want it to feel like just because he’s an alcoholic that he would look just like any bum on the street. So there are things that go against your expectation of what a washed-up guy would look like.”

He also mentioned that:

“The essence of the book is going to be in the film. It’s something we’ve never seen before. We have the best wardrobe, the best costume people, the best makeup people. There’s a level of commitment to innovation that [filmgoers] have never seen. I think they’re going to be very pleasantly surprised by it.”

He mentors Katniss (Lawrence) and Peeta (Hutcherson) in the Hunger Games. Haymitch Abernathy is the only victor from district 12 so he automatically has to train the two tributes from his district that compete every year.

Only problem? He is a big drunk! This character is hilarious, rude, and likeable all at the same time. Mini spoiler alert: he takes a big liking to Katniss because he thinks she can win the games, and in turn, wins readers over with his compassion in the end.

We think Woody Harrelson will be perfect!

The 25th Film Independent Spirit Awards went down at the Nokia Theatre last night, and Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire dominated the evening, scoring awards in all five categories for which it was nominated.

Not only did Gabourey Sidibe and Mo’Nique walk away with trophies in the Best Lead Female and Best Supporting Female categories, respectively, but the film itself picked up Best Feature honors, and helmsman Lee Daniels was named Best Director. Precious screenwriter Geoffrey Fletcher also walked away with Best First Screenplay honors.

Other big winners of the evening included Jeff Bridges, who scored Best Lead Male for his work in Crazy Heart (Bridges also sang “Fallin’ and Flyin’” from the movie during the ceremony) and Woody Harrelson, who scored a Best Supporting Male win for The Messenger.

The couple, who have been together for 20 years, were wed near Harrelson’s home in Kipahulu on the Hawaiian island of Maui.  According to Us, friends and family including Owen Wilson, Willie Nelson and Sean Penn gathered for the afternoon ceremony on this past Sunday. Alanis Morissette attended as a guest and also sang.

Woody, 47, and Laura, 43, have three daughters: Makani Ravello, 2, Zoe Giordano, 12 and Deni Montana, 14.

The bride, who first met her husband-to-be while she worked as his personal assistant in 1987, reportedly wore a white wedding dress, while the groom opted for cream-colored slacks and a short-sleeved aloha shirt.  The private ceremony included a native chant and a blessing by a local minister.

This is the second marriage for vegan Harrelson who was divorced in January 1986 from playwright Neil Simon‘s daughter, Nancy Simon.

Former Republican Party Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin is a grandmother. The Telegraph reports that Palin’s daughter Bristol gave birth to her son, Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston, with boyfriend Levi Johnston on Sunday. The baby was 7 lbs., 7 ounces.

Rehab center Promises in Malibu, California is denying a Star report that they recently allowed actress Tara Reid a free stay complete with no bag check-in for publicity to revive their ailing business. TMZ reports that Promises released a statement that said “the suggestion that Promises would search Hollywood for a celebrity who needs rehab in an effort to garner publicity is libelous, offensive and without merit.” Star has recently taken the story off their website, and had no comment.

Woody Harrelson married his longtime girlfriend Laura Louie on Sunday, reports People. The couple “were officially married yesterday on the island of Maui,” Harrelson’s rep says. Harrelson and Louie have three daughters together.

Yes Man actress Zooey Deschanel is engaged to Death Cab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard, Us reports. Deschanel is “so thrilled,” a source says. “Zooey was swept off her feet, and Ben is so excited.”
