Snookie, your not supposed to go above the line where the brush steam starts….this can lead to the inside of the metal rotting and infecting your brushes…it’s best to just clean the actual bristles themselves so they last longer….just and FYI….I never soak my brushes and they have lasted a while.

Oh girl you should never put the entire brush in water!! Gah this makes me cringe. You are going to loosen the glue and cause the handle to fall apart.
If you soak your entire brush like that the part that holds the bristles on will separate from the handle
