This is not true. There’s a big difference between seduction and rape. There’s a lot of jealousy in the salsa scene. Alex worked hard for everything he has and instead of trying to tear him down be more productive and do the same. And ladies, please take responsibility for your actions. I have know Alex for more than 5 years. He is sometime playful but I feel he is a good man and very giving most of the times I know that everywhere he goes, there are many girls who would do many things just to be near him.

In my opinion up to 70% of all famous male dance instructors worldwide who have more than 1,000 students will have some unjustifiable accusation make against them by student who wants to have power over their dance instructor or have a crush on them, these girls are manipulative and very dangerous, they tend to make their own rules and expect others to follow. They are willing to gamble with their life at times just to achieve this.

For Alex there are millions of girls who knows him, his chance of being accuse is hundred of times higher that the average instructor. Girls are know to come thousands of miles from the other side of the world just to get to know him.

In my frank opinion, I feel that Alex will not touch a lady who does not want to bed him. Those whom I know who are also dangerous, have already have their intention written over their body language that they do not mind bedding Alex when they see him around . These girls tend to say that they are not interested but if given a chance and Alex were to just lead them a little and no one step in to stop them, its almost certain it always happen. I agree with everything this teacher is saying. I have taken many; many classes from Alex and although he is playful he knows what his limits are. I do not believe this accusations and I believe Alex has over-exposed himself when it comes to women because of his accomplishments yet I don’t think that the fact that he did not reciprocate on anybodys expectations should be a reason to crucify him.

I agree with everything this teacher is saying. I have taken many; many classes from Alex and although he is playful he knows what his limits are. I do not believe this accusations and I believe Alex has over-exposed himself when it comes to women because of his accomplishments yet I don’t think that the fact that he did not reciprocate on anybodys expectations should be a reason to crucify him.

I am really shocked to hear this news about Alex. I have gotten the chance to meet Alex in some of the Salsa scene around the L.A. area and I even wanted him to train me to be a better dancer. Although I really don’t know him very well he seemed like a real cool guy. He has won numerous times at the Salsa competition at the Mayan and other locations. He is a great dancer and the ladies love him. They are some devious women out there that are full of hate and are totally bitter about men period. I am not taking sides, if Alex really did do this act then shame on him but if the girls are liars then shame on them. Salsa can be very sexy, sensual, provacative and this is why I much rather dance with my partner and don’t share her. Because some men in the Salsa scene just want to get a quick feel and I am not comfortable with my women being touch by any other men but me. If she is single do what ever you want dance with the owner of the club for all I care. I am not that liberal and I am sure not sharing what’s mine. My partner and I dance really well together we took classes and now we dance good. Maybe some of you couples should find a partner and stop swapping your significant other to a random person at the dance floor. You can avoid things like this from happening on either sides of gender. Good luck Alex.

Alex for sure is not guilty, this girls are telling lies. He don´t need to use force to have a lady, and he is short and not strong enough to intimidate a lady. I knew him, he is a gentleman.

Ok. Let me start by saying this: if you’re going to place a post on a web site that can be read be English speaking people, then please, for the love of God, use a spell / grammar check! “Engles Sin Barreras” has had wonderful reviews. Your writing skill is at a 3rd grade level at best. Just getting through the first paragraph gave me a headache. Now, with that being said, I have been dancing for over 8 years. I have competed and taught as well. In that time I have never been accused of being “grabby” or referred to as being a pervert. I don’t know De Silva personally, but I do know people who have been close to him. The things they say are not very flattering. This post, however is not to slam him or judge whether or not he is innocent. This post is simply to warn salsa dancers of the failed thought process that seems to be passing through the minds of many of these “artists.” Salsa dancing is a fun skill. Don’t get me wrong. Once you get into the professional side of it, yes, there are many girls that try to make moves because they think they can get free classes. And I am not denying that there are “dangerous” girls out there. However, being armed with this knowledge, why would a professional dancer with a promising career be alone with a student? I’ve seen many dancers do their slick moves on the dance floor. It is truly pathetic simply because salsa dancing is all they have. As seen in the preceding post, some of these idiots can’t even hold an intelligent conversation. To the new girls learning to dance: this is a very fun and sensual dance, but by no means is it sexual and raunchy!! A kiss on the mouth is not acceptable once the dance has ended. There is no move where the male dancer has to have his hand on your breast or ass or any other intimate part of the body. I believe that many of the males defending this type of action are rapers in the making, so please be careful.
