In a blatant attempt to stroke the teen-dream show Gossip Girl, the CW has turned up the heat with two new promos putting sex front and center. The net is hoping the recipe for success is to give the kiddies some lovin'. You know they want it.
Though the series has never consistently cracked the Top 100, series creator Josh Schwartz has told Entertainment Weekly, ''This show is a bigger deal than the ratings are reflecting. I can honestly say I don't check the ratings after the show airs."
Then came the writers' strike, which brought endless reruns and poor reality substitutes, leaving GG viewers hungry for some action. On April 21, they get it.
The new push features either Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Blair (Leighton Meester) or Serena (Blake Lively) and Nate (Chace Crawford) and the in-your-face snipe OMFG!
That crowning touch will only appear in "select" markets, but you know how the kids talk. So, is it too much too soon? Comment below.
