Us Weekly has confirmed that after weeks of skepticism and time apart, 27-year-old Paris Hilton has split with Benji Madden, 29, after 9 months of dating.

The pair came together over little Harlow Madden, the daughter of Nicole Richie, 27, and Benji's twin brother and band mate Joel Madden. After Harlow's birth in February of this year, Hilton rushed to the aid of new mom and BFF Richie. The dedicated partygirl collided with Benji, and their love connection sparked a media craze.

Hilton toured Africa and Europe with the sometimes-DJ and collaborated with him on tracks for her gal pal centered MTV reality show. But for weeks now the romance has been plagued with rumors of a split, largely due to time spent apart.

"I wear my feelings on my sleeve. I'm very open about how in love I am," Madden told People magazine last month. "Paris and I are very happy."

Sources indicate the split was amicable, and both intend to remain friends.

Paris seems to have an ability to retain intimacy with figures from her past.
