Patrick Swayze, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year, has checked into the hospital with a case of pneumonia, according to People magazine.
At a press event this morning for the Television Critics Association in Los Angeles, Abbe Raven, President of A&E—which airs Swayze's series, The Beast—announced, "As we arrived here this morning we have some news...Patrick Swayze has checked himself into the hospital. However, he has asked us specifically to go forward with today's panel. We wish him the very best with his recovery."
Things have been touch and go with the 56-year-old actor since he revealed his diagnosis last March.
Though he hasn't let his illness prevent him from filming The Beast and he told photographers in July, "I'm a miracle, dude. I don't know why," his outlook was less optimistic during a 20/20 interview with Barbara Walters that aired on Wednesday.
During the interview, he admitted, "You can bet that I'm going through hell. And I've only seen the beginning of it."
Here's hoping that Swayze is resting easy and back on his feet soon.
