Patrick Swayze was snapped looking spry on the set of his new A&E series The Beast.

In the show, the Dirty Dancing actor plays an FBI agent who has to contend with a newbie on the job.

"I have searched for quite a long time to find a character that is this mutilayered, unpredictable and downright entertaining," Swayze says about the project.

Tough guy Patrick is undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer at Stanford University Medical Center. He's said to be "responding well" and putting the lie to reports that he was near death.

The Swayze was recently spotted at LAX, where he told the press that he's "a miracle."
