Pete and Ashlee's Gothic Invite

Here's a look at the last-minute wedding invites that were sent out to the guests of Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson's wedding that took place this past weekend. The style of the invite was in keeping with their whole Alice in Wonderland wedding theme, complete with a black background and a key-hole view of what looks like a sketch of a tea party for two.

The mysterious invite told guests, "It's getting late so save the date: Ashlee & Pete, join us May 17, 2008, Los Angeles. Transportation will be provided to the wedding. You will be contacted with additional information." Presumably, this was an effort to keep their nuptials relatively under wraps, even though this is some of the best publicity the couple have had since Pete's wiener hit the Internet and Ashlee did her famous jig on SNL.

As party favors, attendees of the event were given cookies that read "Eat me" on their way out. Interesting.

Maybe if Ashlee's birth control pills would have been equally as aggressive, it wouldn't have been a shotgun wedding.
