Talented thespian Phillip Seymour Hoffman was snapped riding his bicycle around New York City yesterday. And smoking. Well, at least he's SORTA trying to be healthy.

Hoffman (who is reportedly up for the role of the Penguin in the next Batman flick) plays a priest accused of child abuse who faces off with Meryl Streep in the upcoming film adaption of John Patrick Shanley's play Doubt.

Phillip has definitely reduced his emissions by opting to rely on his bike to get around, but then he goes and wrecks it by puffing on a cancer stick.

It's kind of a "why bother?" moment.
