PHOTO GALLERY: Newsies: Where Are They Now?
Nov 15, 2009 at 5:00pm
They came, they saw, they seized the day…and then of course conquered. If there was a turn-of-the-century version of boy bands, the Newsies would have been N’Sync.
Their magical dance sequences, perfectly in-tune harmonies and optimistic attitudes made audiences everywhere feel all warm and tingly inside.
Click through the gallery to find out what became of Jack, Crutchy, Mush, Boots and the rest of your favorite newsboys!

Umm…Denton didn’t Adopt any of the boys…I don’t know where Celebuzz gets this info…Apparently they didn’t even watch the movie.
R.I.P Dominic.so so sad :((
Mush didn’t dream of a Saturday night with the Mayor’s daughter. That was Kid Blink.
THIS GUY dreamed of a Saturday night with the Mayor’s daughter. He even adjusted his pants when he sang that line on top of the table during King of New York.
Once again, wrong Newsie. Snitch was sucking his thumb, not Boots.
This is bullsh*t. He didn’t get the part because he could “spin very fast on a fan.” He was an AMAZING TALENTED dancer who, even before Newsies, toured with Michael Jackson and choreographed for Paula Abdul.
It was HIS idea to spin on the fan during King of New York. He was supposed to be doing spins, but thought the fan was a great idea (looks like it was).
He also did speak. His most famous line in the movie was “Look at dat angel.” And “da best.”
Get your facts right before you post a site like this.
Um, no. He was given this part because he was a f*cking amazing dancer! Get your facts straight dumbass!
After his stint with Newsies, he was in the Nickelodeon television show called Roundhouse with fellow Newsies, Ivan Dudynsky (Dutchy), Mark David (Specs), and David Sidoni (Pie Eater).

Or do their research. This whole thing is a bunch of sh*t. Next time, get real fans to write your article.
He wasn’t the worst dancer. They gave him the tap dancing part in King of New York because he had a knack for tap dancing.
To whoever wrote these captions:
…do your research. He was recently in two indie films. Also, your caption doesn’t make sense.
“After 20 years in the acting business, Gabriel decided to pursue a career in post-production. He also has future plans to continue his acting career.”
Read it out loud.
This whole Newsies thing, was bullsh*t. The captions were inaccurate and many Newsies fans (including myself) will be disappointed and pissed.
Don’t EVER say that Dominic Lucero only got the part because he can spin on a fan.
Bull. F*cking. sh*t.
I’m sorry, worst dancer? What movie were you watching?!
Last time I checked, he wanted a pair of new shoes with matching laces.
….like a badass, Mis. Like a badass.
Seriously, did you WATCH this movie? Couldn’t even make it to the first scene to get your facts straight?
I am at a loss for words about how idiotic and misinformed this whole thing is. How about he was a badass dancer and singer? He was f*cking TALENTED.
I think some of you are taking this a little too seriously. The little summaries have a hint of truth and a hint of sarcasm. It’s supposed to be a joke, people. And this is coming from someone who absolutely adores Newsies and everyone in it.

I’m sorry, but when it comes to Dominic, you don’t say sh*t like that and NOT have people get offended. People will get the most offended over this guy.
Umm.. I’m sorry, did you even watch the movie?!?!
Excuse me? Worst dancer? TOO YOUNG?!! Lemme tell ya something here…Max Casella is an EXCELLENT dancer! The special features on the disc Kenny Ortega even says that Max was a natural “hoofer” or tap dancer. And as for too young…*die laughing* Max was TWENTY-FIVE YEARS OLD when he made this movie…get your facts straight.
Like the two that commented before me… Mush wanted a pair of new shoes with matching laces… Kid Blink wanted a Saturday night with the Mayor’s daughter.
Boots… yeah, he was the cute [[short(because he's young)]] black kid at the beginning. The first one Kloppman personally yells at to get up. I’m pretty sure Snitch[[the one actually sucking is finger]] is anything but short.
I would like the track down the person who did this…beat them over the head REPEATEDLY…tie them to a chair…tape their eyes and ears open…and them make them rewatch the move cuz obviously they weren’t paying attention the first time.
Maybe I’m wrong here but…I thought Aaron was only in Mighty Ducks 2 and the very end of 3…never in the actual series…but, I could be wrong.
*snarl* That’s all the people who put this together had to say about Dommie?? That he died?! What about RH? He was fantastic! He was always fantastic! And they should have put the rest of the Newsie/RH boys here, too! They might not have gone on like everyone else did, and stayed in the spotlight as much, but….darn it!! David Sidoni is a Real Estate agent now, and he hosted several game shows post Newsies! Ivan has his own production company now! Mark David…I think is in the music biz, but I apologize that I’m not fully sure. But…gah!!
Whooo to all my fellow Newsies fans who don’t think this is in the least bit funny!!!
Mischief is right… you do NOT say anything about Dominic. Honestly, I believe I am the most emotional over him[[Bumlets is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!!]] and most of the things I am going to say are going to be stuff that was already said, but I don’t care, it needs to be said.
Dom did have lines [["Look at that angel!" is probably my favorite]]. If you haven’t noticed already, most of the newsies on that movie hardly had any lines.
Second, Dom was given the part because of 1) His UH-MAH-ZING dance skills, 2) His incredible singing voice, and 3) His acting abilities… Dominic Lucero is, IMO, the BEST dancer EVER. Besides, it was his idea to do the spinning on the fan in KONY. Oh, and I’m pretty sure they chose him to do the part BEFORE they added KONY as a song.
Just saying.
Wow…you truly fail at life, don’t you?
I agree with Mischief! It’s hard not to get offended!! Dommie was amazing! He could sing, he could dance, and he could make anyone swoon. In full honesty, I wasn’t as attracted to Dom as I was to some of the other newsies, but I loved him to pieces! He was fantastic. And it’s tragic that he isn’t here any more.
I don’t care that this is “supposed to be a joke”, it’s not funny. It’s never going to be funny. Dommie was amazing, and if someone is going to say he only got the part because he could swing from a ceiling fan……they need to be slapped, and someone has to stick up for Dominic, to make sure some folks keep their facts straight, and don’t piss off the wrong people!
In my opinion…Dommie is the guardian angel of all the former Newsies and their fans, and nobody –I do mean NOBODY– disses on Dominic Lucero and gets away with it.
And just to further amplify what my dear friend Polaroid and Mischief have said, King Of New York was a last minute add on…that wasn’t even originally scripted so let’s think about this? Hmmm…he got hired for a song that wasn’t even supposed to be there? Woooow…psychic casting director, me thinks…
PFFFT!
Dominic was the best dancer out of ANY of them!
PERIOD. ((This coming from a die-hard Dutchy fan))
We miss you and we all still love you Dom!
And I agree with Megan! David Sidoni was on Roundhouse, he was on Bing! The Sound of Something New, he has done children’s game shows, he traveled with the Wheel-of-Fortune bus for cryin’ out loud!! And now is a VERY successful Real Estate agent in California.
Ivan after Newsies and Roundhouse choreographed and toured with *N Sync, he was a very successful choreographer. He also went on to do production work on shows for MTV and CMT. After that he went on to form his OWN PRODUCTION COMPANY called Live Animals Inc who shoot music videos, do editing work, and direct different live performances!
And Mark…well…Mark actually kinda fell off the edge, I haven’t been able to hear or find much about Mark lately.
150 of them? Really? Seriously? In his tiny little apartment? Please.
This is worst than tabloid trash.
Well at least they got SOMETHING right!! Except they left out two of my all time FAVORITE Bill Pullman movies (next to Newsies).
He was also the dad in “Casper”
And he was Sandra Bullock’s inadvertent love interest in “While You Were Sleeping”
((Ooo! NE!! My code post code is New York! WOO!))
Look at this…Skittery is even front and center on this cover and yet there’s no “Where’s Michael Goorjian Now?” photo! This is just wrong.
I wish I could fix/add on to this cuz damn it needs some work!!
“Jack Kelly blowup dolls were manufactured shortly after the DVD release.”
That’s. Just. Wrong.
Wow…can you at least TRY to get some facts straight and watch something BEFORE you post? Everything you posted is a LIE and completely false! And clearly you have no heart if you say some person got a part just so he can spin on a ceiling fan…he actually contributed A LOT to the making of the film and the spinning on a ceiling fan was just ONE of the things. Buy the movie (or even just rent it) on DVD and watch the special features. And, by the way, Max Casella was in his 20s when they filmed Newsies and he wasn’t too young to be smoking cigars. Get your facts straight and you wouldn’t have so many people leaving you “You’re stupid” comments all over your little gallery page.
“For the past 17 years we actually thought his name was Spot Collins. Thanks for the correction IMDb.”
Maybe YOU thought it was Spot Collins…but everyone else knew it was CONLON! It didn’t take us 17 years…
This whole Newsies thing, was bullsh*t. The captions were inaccurate and many Newsies fans (including myself) will be disappointed and pissed.

Bull. F*cking. sh*t.
I agree with Mis 100%! This was just…oooo…irked me! Irked me to no end!
Plus, we’re missing Newsies…What about Michael “Skittery” Goorjian?
After Newsies Michael went on to be in plays, he continued to be in a few movies (i.e. “Deal of a Lifetime”, “Something More”, “SLC Punk”) and even wrote, directed and shot his OWN movie that won “Best Screenplay” at the Hamptons International Film Festival and starred Kirk Douglas (movie is called “Illusion” and is absolutely amazing). He has also been in episodes of House MD, Touched By An Angel, CSI, and also starred in “Party of Five”.
This is missing great actors and it’s information is wrong…it’s very aggravating for true fans. Very disappointing.
I never comment on BS like this but… When it came to facts this full of bullsh*t about our newsies I can’t help myself. To the person who wrote this… STRAIGHTEN YOUR FACTS OUT DIPsh*t!!! GO BUY YOURSELF A BRAIN WITH THE PRETTY PENNY YOU SHOULD’VE GOTTEN FOR WRITING THIS f*cking BS!!!
This is so ironic! I literally listened to the soundtrack on my way home today!
Wow. Was this the only photo out there? I’m a little scared right now.
I’m really glad to see so many great people standing up for Dom.
What the description says is just downright ignorant. There is no doubt that he was the best and most experienced dancer in Newsies, and if he were alive today, I’m positive he’d be an A-lister celebrity coreographer/dancer/singer/etc.
RIP Dominic, we miss you and love you!
“Jack Kelly blowup dolls were manufactured shortly after the DVD release.”That’s. Just. Wrong.
I agree….
I think wen he got older he just got….messed up.

god he was 25? wow. he was one young looking 25 year old…
WTH?!?! I mean yeah in the beginning he sed tht he met this girl last night but he had nothing to do w/ a mayors daughter. Darling…tht was Kid Blink…..i think u shud get ur eyes checked….
he was always so cute…. *sigh*
