BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A MOTION PICTURE – DRAMA: Marion Cotillard, 'Rust and Bone'
Marion Cotillard’s role as whale trainer terribly injured after a tragic accident certainly deserves its nomination, and a win would find Cotillard with her second Golden Globe in this category. She previously won for her portrayal of the iconic French singer Edith Piaf in the extraordinary drama 'La Vie en Rose'. However, 'Rust and Bone' – while praised by critics – flew well below the public’s radar. Set against the attentions of a much-discussed drama like 'Zero Dark Thirty', it’ll likely be over-shadowed. Chances of winning: Snowball in Hell
