7 J.J. Abrams Hallmarks You Might See in ‘Star Wars VII’
Score Sets The Scene
As George Kirk uses the starship Kelvin to engage an enemy long enough to buy time for his wife and newborn baby to escape, sound drains from the scene and is replaced by some serious heartstring-tugging music. Abrams also did something similar during a key emotional moment in M:I-3; it's as signature to his filmmaking style as lens flares. Whatever emotional highs or lows are in store for Episode VII, expect at least one scene where an absence of sound brings the theater to tears.
