Gwyneth Insults Americans, Branding Them Stupid

She may be a Los Angeles native, but that doesn’t mean that she can’t snub her fellow compatriots anytime she feels like it. The London resident Gwyneth Paltrow has offended all Americans and stirred quite a huge controversy with her latest interview for ‘NS’, the weekend supplement of the Portuguese newspaper ‘Diario de Noticias’.

If her remarks would have been limited only to said newspaper, maybe the fuss wouldn’t have been that big. However, she took her opinions with her and voiced them on various radio stations, a thing that prompted many listeners to make furious calls, asking her to leave for Britain at once.

Ever since she married, Gwyneth lives in London with her rocker husband Chris Martin from Coldplay. This is not the first time that she says living in the UK beats living in the US, but until now she had cited only the paparazzi insistence (she doesn’t feel so harassed in England as she does in America) as an argument for that.

When the reporter asked the actress how she became accommodated to the British way of living, she said: ‘I love the English lifestyle, it’s not as capitalistic as America. People don’t talk about work and money, they talk about interesting things at dinner.’ But that’s not all she appreciates in Englishmen: there’s always their intelligence and their excellent manners to consider.

‘I like living here because I don’t fit into the bad side of American psychology. The British are much more intelligent and civilized than the Americans’, Paltrow explained. She also added that she received a lot of help and support from another American star married to a Brit and established there, Madonna. Well, the listeners said, at least she won’t be alone when they will not receive her in the US anymore.
