Happy Birthday, Quentin Tarantino!
For his third feature, Tarantino decided to adapt the novel Rum Punch into a film, known to moviegoers as Jackie Brown. Up until 2010, it was his only film to be adapted from preexisting material, rather than his own creation. The 1997 hit is said to be the least violent of all Tarantino’s movies since only nine shots are fired. As for Jackie Brown, the actual character, Tarantino changed her race from white to black solely to work with actress Pam Grier.
