Lance Armstrong: A Career Dogged by Doping
July 2001: As Armstrong begins the 2011 Tour de France with two titles under his belt, a fellow cyclist takes aim at Armstrong in the London Sunday Times. "If Lance is clean, it is the greatest comeback in the history of sport. If he isn't, it would be the greatest fraud," wrote Greg LeMond, a three-time American winner of the Tour de France. Publicly, Armstrong responded by rebuking Walsh as a "f***ing troll” but, in private, he threatened to expose Walsh as a doper, claiming he had witnesses to support his story.
