Stan Lee’s Most Unforgettable Characters: The X-Men

Jamie Blynn / December 27, 2012

With the Justice League and Fantastic Four flying off the shelves, Lee decided to come up with another group to get teenagers buying comic after comic. However, Lee admits to taking the easy way out when he created the X-men, specifically making them mutants so that he would not have to come up with individual back-stories for each character: “They were born that way,” he said.
