'Supernatural': Dean kills the djinn
Look, it takes digging really deeply physically to be able to have the life draining from you one minute to turning around and stabbing a creature the next, but for Dean, killing the djinn was metaphorically important, too. More than anything the Winchesters had hunted before (and arguably since), the djinn got to Dean. The djinn showed Dean a version of the life he should have always wanted, and damn it, it was just picturesque enough that he wanted to stay—despite it not being real, despite not having a great relationship with Sam. It almost, almost knocked the hunter right out of him, but in the end, Dean wouldn’t be defeated.
