Too Hot For Hollywood

“Looking a certain way has sometimes hurt me,” model-turned-actress Jaime King admitted in ‘Inked Magazine.’ “There have been times when I was up for a role, and it was between me and someone else, and I didn't get it even though they said I was a better actor.” But type casting has dampened the blonde bombshell’s spirit. “If anything, that's added more fuel to the fire for me and made me work even harder.”

She is not very hot in real life. I remember her in Sin City where she looked amazing.

as an actress myself, God, I have to agree with you. I absolutely HATE it when directors typecast because the actor, in real life, resembles the character exactly. That's not the reason actors act! Actors act precisely because they are ABLE to transform themselves into characters who are NOT like them.

I am honestly surprised at this! I mean come on this is HOLLYWOOD we're talking about here. The place where illlusion is rampant and the impossible becomes possible! Do directors seriously have no vision when it comes to transforming a star?!? I find that hard to believe. I mean did no one see Charlize Theron in Monster, Rihanna in Battleship (so i don't see what was so wrong with Scarlett J being the star in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo), the hobbits in Lord of the Rings??! Ya never know what people are capable of until ya give them a chance. Regardless of a person's image a movie role is just that, a role and people go to see the movie because they like the storyline, because it looks interesting not only because they think an actor is sexy. Yea that's a plus I guess but shit...they could easily look at pics on the internet if that was all they were interested in...just sayin
