Those black spots are put on him as part of special effects for the scene, they're where the sparkles go.
I don't understand why people talk about Rob's body. He has ZERO abs at all. NOTHING. He even admitted himself that his abs were airbrushed for the scene because he was too scrawny. There are pictures from the paparazzi with him out on a "normal" day without the airbrush and you can clearly see he has absolutely zero muscle tone ANYwhere on his entire body.

Yea I heard they used some air-brushing jus to make them more defined. I'm not sayin he doesn't have abs cause he obv. is muscular (look @ his arms-u can see tha muscle definition there etc.) it's jus his muscles weren't as defined as they needed 2 be so tha special-effects ppl fixed them up. It looks like they also made tha "v-shape" @ his sides more defined too which there's mothing wrong with. I prefer Rob's body-type also to that of Taylor Lautner; I'm not sayin there's anything wrong wit Taylor, it's jus my preference =) I'd rather snuggle against a chest that's jus comfortable instead of against one that's rock-hard :s

those spots are for CGI effects... not for sparkling... they're what makes the painted on muscles look real when he's in action... you twihards need to take a cold shower and look a little closer at these pics lol not to be rude, but your wrong. I have proof, in the official illustrated movie companion for newmoon on page 109 it says "Pattinson had had to film the scene with dots marked on his skin so that the computer generated "diamond guy" effect could be exactly matched in postproduction."
