Move over, Andrew Lloyd Webber; a wacky group of Irishmen have come up with a musical concept more far-fetched than you could ever dream of.
According to OK! Magazine, Dublin theater company Long Road Productions will be producing a "wild comedy romp" based on the life of soccer star David Beckham and his Spice Girl wife, Victoria. The satirical piece, titled MacBeck's, is scheduled to premiere next January.
"We're very excited by the script," says Long Road's Ronan Smith. "It borrows from Shakespeare's Macbeth, King Lear and Romeo & Juliet."
Stupendous! But they should really consider working in a little My Fair Lady. What would the production be without a number called "I've Grown Accustomed to Her Knobby Knees"?
