Rihanna Says Chris Brown Incident Brought Her Closer to God
|
Apparently, Rihanna is a big believer in the silver-lining-in-every cloud thing.
The "Russian Roulette" singer opens up in the latest issue of Glamour about the past year's events in her life—specifically, about the beating she received from ex-boyfriend Chris Brown after a pre-Grammys party in February.
According to Rihanna, the incident—and the flurry of negative publicity that followed—had at least one bright side: It strengthened her relationship with the Man Upstairs.
Says Rihanna,
"My friends and family have been extremely supportive, and everyone has been there for me. But at some point you are there alone. It’s a lonely place to be—no one can understand. That’s when you get close to God."
The Barbados-born songbird was particularly stung when a photo depicting her injuries was leaked onto the Internet ("It was humiliating," she reveals). But, with the incident behind her, Rihanna figures that she's emerged as a better person from the ordeal:
"I’m stronger, wiser and more aware. You don’t realize how much your decisions affect people you don’t even know, like fans."
Let's hope Brown has experienced the same epiphany.

Rihanna sucks. "Closer to God"? Whatever. yeesh
Yeah it brought her "Closer to God" she almost met her maker at the hands of Chris. Good thing we don't prosecute almosts.
BULLsh*t! i f*cking hate when celebs bring up GOD. most of young celebs worship money, idolize the business, don't contribute much to the world. they only bring god into the equation if they go broke, survival some sort of crash, or overcome a violent/hostile situation. other than that god and what they believe tends to be secondary to their fame and fortune. such BS.
thats a good thing for Rihanna
