Rihanna to Sing for Obama
Rihanna is quite the multitasker–and not just when she’s doing double duty as Chris Brown‘s personal groomer and secret girlfriend.
People reports that the 20-year-old singer will help usher President-elect Barack Obama into office by performing at the Recording Industry Association of America’s Presidential Inauguration Charity Ball, to be held on January 20.
But the Barbados-born songbird won’t just be welcoming the nation’s next Chief Executive aboard. The bash will benefit Feed America, the country’s largest hunger-relief organization.
“We could not be happier that Rihanna will be performing at the Inauguration charity ball to benefit Feeding America,” says Feed America president and CEO Vicki Escarra. “Rihanna’s involvement will help raise awareness about the prevalence of hunger in America and help bring more aid to the 36 million Americans who do not always know where they will find their next meal.”
Quite the vital service, indeed. After all, not everyone is lucky enough to actually get paid for the simple act of eating.
That Rihanna; she’s a real stand-up gal. Well, most of the time, anyway.
