Rob Pattinson Opens Up In Vanity Fair

You've seen the breathtaking new pictures from Rob Pattinson's upcoming Vanity Fair photospread, now it's time to hear what he has to say about his crazy, new life and those pesky Robsten rumors.

On his newfound fame:

"I'm trying not to drown. I guess I'm not the type of guy cut out to do a franchise. I'm not much of a crowd person."

On the Kristen Stewart rumors:

"It doesn't make any difference what you say [to the tabloids]. I've literally been across the country [from Kristen], and it's like 'Oh, they were on secret dates!' It's like 'Where? I can't get out of my hotel room!' "

On his admiration for K-Stew:

"I think she's the best young actress around. She's influenced how I've done all the Twilight stuff. It's quite nice to have someone who is genuinely indifferent to the whole spectacle of everything."

On his audition for Twilight:

"I was still in the mode thinking, I've got to make this really, really serious. This is not just a sexy thing.... I was slamming my head against the wall and kind of going nuts." He was sure he had made a complete ass of himself. "I remember calling my parents and saying, 'That's it. I'm not doing this anymore.' And then hearing, 'O.K., fine,' which was not the answer I wanted to hear at all."

Kristen Stewart is the "best young actress around"? Seriously??

I don't get those two... they both seem totally uncomfortable with fame yet they CHOSE to be actors and CHOSE to not only audition for but accept the leads in a hugely successful franchise. Yeah, Twilight surprised people with it's box office numbers but come on, the books were all very popular. If they really didn't want this stuff, they shouldn't have taken the roles.

When you're an actor you audition for all kinds of crap so they probably did not put too much thought into it. And seeing as neither of them had read the books prior to getting the parts they obviously had no idea that they were such a big deal. Personally I'm just really fed up with the whole thing, I wish people would just get over this Twilight rubbish. I mean, I think Kristen Stewart is really admirable and yes, Rob Pattinson is beautiful but it's gettig a bit out of hand!

I don't think anybody wants to be followed around by 100 fans and paparazzi all day long. I don't think anybody wants to give up his/her privacy, just because they happen to make good carreer choices.
They chose to be actors, but why should that implie that they should like the whole fame-thing. Give them some credit for not craving attention like some other people do.

Everyone knows these two Rob and Kris are definiately together and he did not deny anything at all read carefully never said no they are not dating skirts around the issue like he always does in interviews we never get a denial from either of them - fact. They don't deny anything because they can't instead they both avoid the issue and relationship questions for Robsten remain off limits but they will ask taylor or any of the cast relationship questions. would maybe belive they were just friends if they haven't been acting the way they do. it shows they are together. end of story don't worry everything is fine in Robsten land never fear. oh and btw the press photos of kris and tayor in Brazil no hotness there at all folks Kris needs Rob with her on her arm. not denial here everyone. just bs we were warned that more rumors and junk like this would come out close to new moon not buying don't believe it either Rob and Kris are together and they are fine we'll leave them alone and give them the privacy they deserve.

Rob is such a smart, beautiful, interesting person.. some of those quotes are taken from old interviews, he didnt really deny anything, they never do

You're so ridiculous, How much more clearance do you need? He said it in his own words how wrong the tabloids are. You talk about leaving them alone, but you can't even leave them alone.

I agree. Part of acting is embracing the fame you get after performing. Actors by definition want the limelight. I guarantee you no aspiring actor has every said, "Just put me in the background, I really don't want to be noticed, and I CERTAINLY don't want any fame." Then again, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart can hardly be considered actors after their atrocious performances in Twilight.
