Robert Downey Jr. Speaks on Howard 'IM2' Firing
The outspoken Robert Downey Jr. has, um, spoken out regarding the casting swap of Terrance Howard for Don Cheadle in the anticipated Iron Man sequel. And Robert has nothing to say.
"I had nothing to do with that decision. I love Terrence very very much. That’s all I’ll say because I haven’t talked to him yet,” Downey told MTV News.
Nice to know RDJ is flexing his couth when not lighting fire to his crotch. That still doesn't answer the big "Why?" in the room.
Howard was dropped from the role of Col. James “Rhodey” Rhodes in mid-October and replaced with George Clooney-pal and critic fave Cheadle.
Initial speculation over the casting shuffle said Howard wanted more green the second time around in Jon Favreau's budding franchise. Looks like now Terrance will just see red, with no chance for another go with RDJ and Gwyneth Paltrow.
"Here’s what happens too: things happen and you wind up commenting on them before you’ve actually talked to the people and it’s in poor taste,” Downey added.
Robert is a man always known for his impeccable taste.
