Robert Pattinson Is Cheap
From reportedly skipping showers to switching between just two pairs of jeans, Robert Pattinson is clearly a penny saver.
And that apparently extends to his tipping policy.
OK! Magazine reports that the Hollywood heartthrob spent $350 while visiting ritzy Greenwich Village Italian eatery Il Cantinori on Monday night, but only tipped $50. That’s less than 15%!
Pattinson dined with three guys and a lady friend just before 10 p.m. R-Pattz enjoyed a couple bottles of Moretti Italian beer, grubbing on the Caprese salad as an appetizer and the veal Milanese for the entree. The restaurant even comped a round of prosecco for the table.
Onlookers report that the casually dressed group had a ball laughing and cracking jokes until nearly midnight.
Well, we are pretty sure the waiter wasn’t laughing over the joke of a tip Pattinson left.
Even though the cheap tip was shocking, the waiter tells OK! that Pattinson was “very nice and friendly.”
Tell us in the comments section: How much do you usually tip when you go out to eat?

so now your judging him because of how he tips…?? that is UNBELIEVABLE i mean come on leave him alone at least he gave you a tip
ROB’S MANAGER PAID FOR THE MEAL.
Idiots ,his manager Nick paid so if anyone is cheap it;s him not Rob.
who cares…??? Us is soooo Anal when it comes to tipping, long live italy noooo tipping!
I wouldn’t expect anything less from an alcoholic racist.
ahaha, the old “I’m British, I wasn’t aware you have to tip” routine. Well played, Sir Douchebag. And yeah, the Italians love to pull that one too – “We did not know that waiters only get paid $2 an hour in this country”
Tipping is a way overrated and over expected American thing.
Remember in some parts of Asia, a tip is an insult.
You are doing your job, and getting pay for it, a tip is a VOLUNTARY nice gesture to be kind and grateful for a good service render and an expected tip on % of your bill seems mandatory.
Isn’t tipping based on service recieved. @ $50.00 that’s 14.3%. Maybe the service sucked. Besides the US is the only country that tips so high. Losts of countries don’t tip at all, several only 10%. So be thankful. Maybe next time you won’t complain to the press.

Totally. Hey, R-Puttz; you’re working in our country, you’re earning our money, you play by OUR RULES! Or it’s deportation time!

you don’t get out much. or you clearly can’t afford fine dining… at a 4 or 5 star restaurant (like where these guys dined) you don’t get bad service.
15% gratuity is standard in western and industrialized societies. you don’t know that because you’re not well travelled i guess – even in europe. however, in europe it is usually automatically included in the bill so the guest isn’t aware of it – unless they are intelligent enough to read the breakdown of their simple bill…
fyi celebuzz, tips in england are only 10% and he payed even more than this, as an english person himself he probably was unaware that americans tip so much so dont judge and call him cheap
hispanic and terrence,
stfu!
that was the night that was caught on tape, where Robs manager took them out to dinner… so if you complain, say it about the right person!
oh and hispanic, i am first nation, and who’s country did you say this is?
sh*tt, i wanna know someone in this country that would pay $50 on a tip with the economy. dipsh*ts. grow the f*ck up.
Then he’s an idiot for having a stupid manager. Like leaving a crappy tip isn’t going to reflect on your famous, rich-ass client who’s sitting at the table. Try to justify it all you want fanboys & girls – this was a chump move.
Wow lotta, cheap people cruisin the celebuzz… he’s friggin LOADED
THESE ARE ALL RUMORS!!!!! HES NOT CHEAP!!!!
He ears it very hard and because he is famous he gives it easily. did you do it? I am not because life is very expensive.
I also heard that he left the $50 tip in cash… and that he used that $50 bill to snort a line of cocaine right before hand at the table! Then he spit on the bill and threw it on the ground.
(He also assassinated JFK back in 1963, but that’s a story for another time.)
nobody ever believes what that noah user says because he just hates rpattz and makes up incredibly fake and horrible lies. pathetic….
I wouldn’t expect anything less from an alcoholic racist.
You just love to be s*** started don’t you?!
The tip culture in the UK is quite different from that of the states. I know, when in Rome do as the Romans do… Maybe he will get more accustomed to the American tip culture after this report?
So you think 50 $ is cheap??
I’m sorry, I don’t agree. What kind of tip do you usually give??? 100 $? As a tip? I know american waitresses don’t earn much but 15% of that sum is just too much.
So the waitress of a 4 Star restaurant is so lucky to get a 50 Dollar tip while the same waitress could only get 10 Dollar in a cheaper restaurant for the same service??
What do you give as a tip for a party when you’ve invited 10 guests an you have a bill about 1000$? Would you give 150$?
I’m sorry that I don’t understand that rubbish, I do come from a “western industrialized” country, but we don’t have to give a 15% tip.
I prefer the way we do it in our country: waitresses get a propper pay and so they are not dependent on a tip and nobody gets pissed.
God forbid he’s $2.50 short. This is not that big of a deal.
Totally. Hey, R-Puttz; you’re working in our country, you’re earning our money, you play by OUR RULES! Or it’s deportation time!
urrrr… I think its your US company squeezing money out from this British citizen, making him work 24/7 for $$$$ then left him on the street right in front of the effing cab! hadnt even paid him back in November when the movie came out!!! F 8#ckin Y..I…
cheap tip? my god, thats like a week of the guys salary…u ppl are CRAZYY
In England we only tip if the service was worth it, in some restaurants it’s already included in the bill so you don’t have to work it out. If Robert pattinson was with some of his crew (I am assuming they are all American) and I am also assuming he paid the bill (which seems unlikely) why did they not tell him he was not leaving enough? and Noah you need to get a life.

….
I am a server here and we get a payrate of $2.13 an hour
so yes we depend on those tips ….I am a mom so this type of joib works for me with my husband working…. so if you may think it over rated but that means you have never needed to take care of you famuily on the wages of a sever so don’t judge The fact is that Some people including Robert only tip
at a 15% rate . I have seen a many diffret variety of tipping but until you walked in a severs shoes don’t act as if we are lower then you beacuse with out the sever you would have to go into the kitchen at a resturant and hope you knew what dinner was your so for those people who think that the it is just a nice gesture thing again we depend on the tip wether its 5% 10 % 0r Higher …….So really think about it before you go out to dinner and run your sever around like they are you personal butler and be nice to them….

Yeah lets forget the massive revenue that hes bringing in for your nation shall we? Tipping is totally outdated, it was brought in when there was no minimum wage and so, yes, waiters etc. depended on good tips to make money. Today it is unnecessary and outdated. Why the hell should people tip waiters for a service that they SHOULD provide, they get paid for it ffs!! It’s also unfair as people who do far worse jobs get absolutely no recognition or tips. I hate the way its just expected, and if you don’t your some sort of bad guy. I used to go out to eat as a treat when I was younger but I did not have much money at all, why should I give money to those people for no reason when they probably earnt more than I do, its ridiculous.
Anyways – Rant over. hahhah

Thats not a “cheap tip” comparable to how much the staff probably earn, its a lot of money. Why should richer folks be prejudiced upon and be expected to give outlandish tips when they receive the same service as everyone else? FYI – rich people want to stay rich and they don’t do that by wasting their money. I know rich people who you’d think were average the way they’re so careful with money.

Hey “a server” thats total utter bollocks and you know why? Ever heard of minimum wage perhaps? What you are quoting as your pay per hour is well below what is LEGAL, so if you didnt know that, shame on you, you deserve to be underpaid for not bothering to educate yourself. I would reccomend reporting this place you are working at to the appropriate organisation and leaving (thats if what you say is true).
i would love to be tipped $50 bucks that would be awesome im pretty sure the waitress had other tables to tend to so she would have got more then $50 that night.
big woop im pretty sure just cause he is a movie star doesnt mean they should expect anything more then the norm. thats just being stuck up
Why can’t you all just leave him the hell alone.I work as a waitress and I would be very grateful for a 50.00 tip.Just being his waitress would be enough for me!!
Hahaha, What a bunch of whiney lazy brats the americans are!!! Why should you automatically get a huge tip for carrying my plate of food from the kitchen to my table? Don’t you get paid by your employees? And if you don’t earn enough, well here’s an idea, use your brain and get a better job!!!
Who cares if he tipped or not. You pay the ticket price and if service is above and beyond then a tip comes into it.
If america had a decent minimum wage they wouldn’t neet tips to supplement sh*tty incomes.
first the server should have been sacked for revealing what money people spend where they work and secondly if they are so disappointed why don,t they apply for a job in a burger outlet and see if anyone there leaves them a $50 tip!!!!
dude this is ridiculous
“is standard in western and industrialized countries”
no sherlock!
im from australia and 15% seems absolutely ridiculous!
$50 is just barely under a 15% tip. maybe the service at the restaurant wasn’t that great. and honestly who cares. id be happy with a $50 tip
wtf? you’re judging him because of his tps?? that’s stupidd!! leave him aloneee!!
$50 is not exactly a cheap tip. It’s just under 15%–By British standards, that’s a good tip. Mr. Pattinson is young and new the United States. Give him a friggen break.
Not until this info comes from Rob Pattinson’s beautiful kissable lickable suckable lips, I wouldn’t believe a word of this bull dinky.
who cares…??? Us is soooo Anal when it comes to tipping, long live italy noooo tipping!
Unfortunately Waiters and such live off the tips ..They pay little things like rent and other bills. So the standered 15% -20% is what is appropriate . Good thing there are laws in the mainstream jobs to keep someone from paying at least Min. wage.. last of all it should be common practice if you can not afford to tip appropriately you should go somewhere there is no tip is required. Have a great day….
I wouldn’t expect anything less from an alcoholic racist.
What gives the idea that he is a racist ?
Why the f*ck are you accusing him of being a ‘light tipper’ because he’s British.
Sure the guy has money, but he’s smart enough to save it and not spend it, like most Hollywood douchebags. In Britain, that’s more than enough for a tip.
Your yank ways are strange to us, so stfu.
Totally. Hey, R-Puttz; you’re working in our country, you’re earning our money, you play by OUR RULES! Or it’s deportation time!
SHUT UP.
why are you so rude? you think that because you’re american you’re better? no, to us british you americans are sh*tbags.
ugh build a bridge and climb over if for crying out loud atleast he gave a tip usually people just leave. i dont understand im refuse to understand the needs for a tip atleast he paid full price for the blinkin food so whats the deal really????
i honestly think its PATHETIC the way people are acting to this news really do you not realise how stupid you sound its either true but atleast be grateful he gave a tip or false and the people at the restaraunt are pathetic lowlifes who need to get a life.
Let’s do basic math:
15%, $53
20%, $70
So he was $3 short of the low end! A waiter who talks about tips should also disclose what portion he gives to the bus persons, hostess/maitre d’, or bartender.
I give 15% only to encourage poor servers to do better.
Anything more has to be earned.
ahaha, all these little fangirls so desperately trying to defend this wanker, just because he’s famous, “dreamy,” and in their favorite little movie of the moment. One day, when you’re out working and making a living, you’ll understand why this just ain’t cool.
hey, the manager paid for the damn tip, leave rob alone. i swear people are f*cking idiots. if ppl werent all up in his business, which i understand hes a celebrity, but he needs some privacy of his own, and if people cant just give him the littlest bit of f*cking privacy its bullsh*t. btw…u never know if that waiter was a good waiter or not….if she was…then yeah i get it less than 15 percent of a 300+ bill is ridiclous.
a $50 tip is very good i think!!!
and leave him alone, just cos he doesn’t blow his money on drugs and stuff like other stars
thats only 2.50 less then 15%. just fine for a tip!! learn some math!!!
