Robert Pattinson Has a Plan B

How hot are Robert Pattinson's acting prospects right now? The Twilight actor and tousle-haired changeling can actually consider a music career as a back-up plan.

Pattinson—who sings under the name Spunk Ransom and contributed a song, "Never Think," to the Twilight soundtrack—tells the Los Angeles Times that he doesn't want to be seen as an actor using his big-screen career to push a music sideline.

"I've never really recorded anything—I just played in pubs and stuff—and I really didn't want it to look like I was trying to cash in," the pasty-faced heartthrob says. "Music is my backup plan if acting fails. I don’t want to put all my eggs in one basket."

Pattinson claims that he had nothing to do with his inclusion on the Twilight soundtrack.

A third party supposedly passed a copy of his tunes to director Catherine Hardwicke without his knowledge, and she decided to include them.

"When I went to see the [Twilight] cut," Pattinson recalls,"she'd put these two songs in. One of them specifically, it really made the scene better. It was like it was supposed to be there. It's strange because what was supposed to be at that point in the movie was a big orchestral film climax. Instead it's this little song with acoustic guitar. I'm singing it, maybe that makes it different, but it's kind of overwhelming. I hope it's overwhelming."

Wow; talent, looks, and humility. And like some other singing thesps, he can probably even remember the lyrics to his own songs.

I'd rather he focus on acting too. To get to the very top in Hollywood take such dedication that its hard to fit in a musical career as well.
