Robert Pattinson's Shirtless 'Twilight' Scenes Scrapped

Robert Pattinson knows a thing or two about fan hysteria.

With less than two weeks to go before the release of Twilight—the high-school vampire thriller that's set to make him a household name—Pattinson was the cause of a 3,000-person mob scene at San Francisco's Stonestown Galleria this morning, reports TMZ.

Thus, the event that had to be canceled.

And in an interview with E! Online, Robert said a seven-year-old girl crossed the line from cute to creepy with the actor at a New York City Apple Store publicity event.

Pattinson says, "She went really quiet and she was like, 'Can you bite me?' It wasn’t a joke...I looked at her and thought, 'Do you know what you’re saying?' There are these kinds of sexual thoughts that come out of people that they don’t even know are sexual.”

Speaking of sexual, the 22-year-old Brit admits that, at first, he wasn't so keen to shoot Twilight's scenes that required him to be shirtless.

“I was just trying to lose like every ounce of body fat so when I took off my shirt, I would look like an alien. I thought that kind of worked for the story.”

When shooting started, Pattinson had lost 30 pounds since the last time director Catherine Hardwicke had seen him.

“I was so much more muscular than I had ever been in my life, but I looked weird.”

The scenes of Robert without shirt were eventually cut.

i just hope that we can see them later not in the movie but like in the bonus features....

that would have been like the BEST part in the movie!

I am a fan of Twilight and all of the books. I think the director for the movie did an amazing job casting Robert for the part. But its not just that fans are crazy over Edward Cullen. Its all because of Robert. People saw how hot he is and they fell in love. I thought he was hot in Harry Potter. And thats pretty pathetic of how fans go up to him saying 'bite me?' Hes not actually a vampire! But it does suck that they took out the shirtless scenes. And I personally think Robert would still be hot they way he is and-or- 30 lbs heavier. From all his interviews, he really is funny, and a good guy. And its not like any fan will marry the guy. He's 22 years old and has his own life.
