Often comics are known to use laughter as a deflection from their inner turmoil. But in a pinch, ice cream will do, as evidenced by Sarah Silverman.

Shortly after the announcement of her breakup from long-term boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel, Silverman has returned to work on the second season of her Comedy Central series.

The Jesus Is Magic star looked carefree and excited on the set of The Sarah Silverman Program. Her brave face seems eager to get back to the bodily function gags that punctuate each episode.

But expanding hips don’t lie.

It’s a little obvious around the waistline that with every fart joke Sarah cracks, a tiny tear streams down her cheek.
