Scarlett Johansson Calls Out ‘Cosmo’

Scarlett Johansson is seeing red over UK Cosmopolitan‘s January Issue.

In a statement released to Celebuzz by ScarJo’s rep, the actress says all quotes in the issue related to her recent marriage to Ryan Reynolds are pure fiction–more so, that she never gave the mag an interivew.

“The quotes attributed to Scarlett Johansson regarding her marriage in the UK edition of Cosmopolitan are wholly fabricated. Ms. Johansson has at no point granted UK Cosmopolitan an interview, and she has never discussed her personal relationships with the publication,” the statement read.

The missive goes on to reference the August issue of American Cosmo, wherein the 24-year-old blatantly states she’d go to the ends of the earth to avoid discussing her private life:

“I hate feeling like I have to share my personal life with anybody. So I’ll take the normal celebrity route and just say I’m going to keep my personal life private.”

The article under fire details Johansson’s alleged hectic days leading up to the wedding and the daily joys of matrimony with Reynolds, 32.

“Ryan and I are in love, and we’re enjoying evolving our relationship together. I feel that my life and my work are heading in the right direction,” Cosmo quoted her.

Her official statement makes no bones in saying the misrepresentation is an “obvious attempt by UK Cosmopolitan to gain monetarily by misinforming their readers.”

And there’s litigation coming down the pike:

“She will be seeking legal action accordingly.”

ScarJo will next be seen in Frank Miller‘s The Spirit, hitting theaters December 25th.
