Selena Smacks Love-Life Rumors with Vague Blog

Nov 18, 2008 at 6:39pm

Selena Gomez wants to set the record straight—by making us wonder exactly what she means with her latest blog post.

Selena calls shenanigans on this quote from OK! Magazine: “I get so mad about ex-boyfriends, but if a boy hurts me, I don’t write a song about it. They don’t deserve it!”

This statement was supposedly in response to ex-boyfriend revenge tactics used by Taylor Swift.

Taylor and Selena have common ground.  Each girl has been romantically linked to her own Jonas Brother. Although only one has been publicly humiliated.

“I may have been misunderstood and would like to clear that up,” Gomez blogs. “Most of my songs are about love, I am a 16-year-old teenager and I sing about what is on every girl’s mind. Love.”

Fair enough! She elaborates:

“What I was implying was that the songs I sing about, the boys who have hurt me or that are no longer in my life don’t deserve a song to be written about them but, that’s impossible. Writing and singing is a gateway to sharing and getting out feelings. I hope that I have cleared up any confusion I may have caused to my fans!”

That sort of clears things up.  But if Gomez’s songs are indeed a gateway to her feelings, expect a few about confusion in the near future.

But maybe one or two will have Cinderella endings—Cinderella endings that were previously discarded by Taylor Swift.
