Shania Twain to Appear on Tonight’s 2008 CMAs

Nov 12, 2008 at 1:19pm

Yee-haw! Shania Twain will appear on the 42nd Annual Country Music Awards, People magazine reports.

This will mark the first public appearance for the 43-year-old songbird since her split from her husband, producer Robert “Mutt” Lange, in May. Twain has primarily been holing up in Canada since the breakup, which was reportedly due to Lange fooling around with the couple’s former secretary, Marie-Anne Thiébaud.

According to a source close to Twain, she “hasn’t put down her guitar since the split” and “the songs are pouring out of her.” Maybe the CMA audience will be treated to a new Shania song or two.

In the meantime, gear up for Twain’s appearance tonight with this clip of her performing “Honey I’m Home,” from the 1998 CMAs:

The 42nd Annual CMAs airs live at 8 p.m. from Nashville tonight on ABC. The ceremony, which will be hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, will also feature Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus as presenters.
