Shannen Doherty, experiencing a career revitalization due to reprising her role as Brenda Walsh on the new 90210, tells Radar that the tabloids have long been her enemy with their vicious lies.

The new drama teacher at West Beverly High says that she was trying to find herself in her early 20s, which got her labeled as a "bad girl."

"Many nights I cried myself to sleep over that stuff," she claims.

The worst part was when she was labeled as a drunk!

"They said that I was so, quote, 'scared of the drink' that I was sleeping on my sponsor's couch," she recalls. "Now, I've never been in AA. I accompanied my husband to AA meetings—actually, I forced him to go to one—but I’ve never actually gone for myself."

Shannen Doherty, a lush? How could people have gotten that idea?
