Looks like Brenda Walsh may finally be changing her professional-student status and heading back to California's most famous Zip code.

E! is reporting that Shannen Doherty is "currently engaged in formal talks" to reprise her role as Brandon's twin sis on the forthcoming Beverly Hills, 90210 spinoff for the CW. Hmmm, what convoluted plot line will they come up with to explain her character's, oh, 14 years of ~~banishment~~ acting school in England?

Don't start disinfecting your old Shannen lunchbox in celebration just yet. E! also notes the raven-haired starlet wants to see what the full story for the show will be and would like a bigger payday than what is being offered before signing on.

Oh, right—a script! Think the CW thought hype alone was going to carry this project!

But poor Tori Spelling. First her pet pooch heads to the big dog park in the sky, and now she's faced with once again working alongside her old archnemesis.

“Shannen Doherty is in talks to star in the new spin-off of Beverly Hills 90210, reprising her role as Brenda Walsh, according to EW.

The 37-year-old actress will not commit to the role until she has seen her character’s storyline and is apparently asking for money than she is currently being offered.

Shannen’s former co-stars Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth have already agreed to reprise their roles in the series. But a source reveals that, “There’s still some animosity there,” and that Garth wasn’t exactly jumping for joy upon learning of Doherty’s potential hiring.

However, Garth then said, “A lot of time has passed, and I’m a big girl. I’d have no problem with her coming on the show.””

So many shows TV producers could choose to remake and they choose 90210, after all, there aren't enough TV shows about spoiled Californian teenagers who are alienated because they chose to wear red sneakers on a Wednesday. Why not bring back T J Hooker, The Fall Guy or even The A Team. They could update The A Team:

"In 2002 a crack commando unit was sent to prison..." and make them Iraq War veterans. The new BA could be scared of sudden explosions and only drink neat vodka and the new Murdock could have Gulf War Syndrome (TV producers please don't steal my idea).”
