Shia LaBeouf continues to keep us guessing with fresh fashion.

After a hobo-chic bagged head and plastic-wrapped cast, we evolved to a black safari fedora reminiscent of his Indiana Jones stint.

Now—enter the plaid.

LaBeouf was spotted rocking a decidedly rugged look en route from his native Los Angeles to New York’s JFK International Airport.

Climbing into his car service, the 22-year-old sports his best blue flannel and a multi-color backpack that just screams, “granola.”

Perhaps the outdoorsy motif is in contrast to the metallic, future-focused themes of Transformers 2?

No matter. As long as he’s grabbing headlines with fashion (not faux pas), then we’re satisfied.
