Shia LaBeouf and Michael Cera: Facing Off for Facebook Movie?
Uh-oh, looks like we got a good, old-fashioned Hollywood casting showdown a-brewing.
CNET reports that casting for the upcoming film The Social Network—which will chronicle the rise of Facebook—is starting to shape up, and both Shia LaBeouf and Michael Cera are being considered for the role of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.
CNET’s source says that Superbad actor Cera currently has the inside edge, because his overall likability would make audiences more sympathetic to the Zuckerberg character. (What; are there people in the world who don’t find Shia LaBeouf likable?)
The script for the movie, which is based on Ben Mezrich‘s upcoming book The Accidental Billionaires, was written by West Wing guru Aaron Sorkin. Actor Kevin Spacey is among the movie’s producers.
Time will tell whether Cera or LaBeouf get the role—if the producers don’t decide to go with someone else altogether.

Hum, I don’t know who I’d pick. There both amazing actors…and their both likable. This is going to be a hard choice.

If you watched Even Stevens or Tru Calling– you’d know that Shia LaBoeuf does the opposite of playing one type of character
I love both of them, but I think Michael Cera is more right for this character. I just don’t see Shia as a geek any more, but Cera fits that bill. Plus I think he looks more like Zugerberg.

You know.. I haven’t seen Michael Cera in too many serious movies, so let’s hope this Facebook movie isn’t supposed to be serious!! I think Shia Labeouf would be better for the role because I’ve seen him play serious roles AND funny roles.. and partially romance.. partially!
But to be honest, I don’t think a Facebook movie is a great idea.. it sounds.. strange!! HAhaHaha.. I mean, what’s next, an MSN movie where they just type back and forth and send nudges and little smiley faces!
Unless of course something happens to FAcebook in this movie, like it’s taking over people’s lives and becomes a world-wide issue (although.. is it doing that already.. lol), then maybe I’d see it!
