Will Smith is the highest paid actor in the business, with $80 million in his name. Miley Cyrus rules the teen scene, making $25 million last year for Hannah Montana, and $17.5 million on her tour. The richest couple, by far, is Beyonce and Jay-Z, who make a respective $80 million and $350 million each. Simon Cowell wins the reality scene, making a shocking $50 million per year for his time on American Idol.
The richest stars love to spend their money! Mel Gibson loves to invest in land, with a $30 million Malibu estate, $35 million home in Connecticut, $25 million ranch in Costa Rica, and $15 million private island in Fiji. Jerry Seinfeld has a car addiction, with a collection of more than 46 Porsches, including his coveted $700,000 Porsche 959. And everyone’s favorite actress, Drew Barrymore, is a notoriously grateful restaurant patron, often tipping over 100% of the bill.
Not all celebrities manage their money so well. Lindsay Lohan has blown through her cash, spending more than $1 million on beauty treatments and hotel stays, $10,000 on drinks every night (pre-rehab), and over $315,000 on rehab last year. Another party girl, Tara Reid, who used to command up to $25,000 to $35,000 for promotional appearances, now scrounges up a measly $3,500 to show her face at events.
