American Idol contestant Jennifer Hudson is going through the worst kind of nightmare imaginable.
The tragic slaying of her mother, brother, and nephew has been all over the news, and the killer might still be out on the loose. While police have named her sister Julia’s ex-husband William Balfour as a “person of interest,” no arrests have been made.
This sort of violence is unfortunately common in the Chicago South Side neighborhood in which the Hudson family lived. While Jennifer had tried to get her family to move to a safer neighborhood, her mother had refused to leave her roots. Jennifer, meanwhile, found fame in movie roles in Dreamgirls, Sex and the City, and, most recently, The Secret Life of Bees.
Jennifer is a strong woman, and her friends and family are very hopeful that she will be able to rise up against the odds once again and eventually learn how to move on.
