Presidential hopeful Barack Obama and his lovely wife, Michelle, invited People into their six bedroom Chicago home for an exclusive look into their lives, both at home and on the road.
The Harvard-trained lawyers, who married in 1992, have lived in a Georgian revival house near the University of Chicago for the past three years with their daughters Sasha, 7, and Malia, 10. The Obamas appeal to a younger generation and symbolize a new hope for the future, especially with the possibility of their two young girls living with them in the white house – a first in 30 years.
It’s not all fun and games for the kids in the Obama household. House rules include “no whining, arguing, or annoying teasing,” making their own beds, and a $1 allowance from dad for doing their chores. The children are also actively involved with after-school activities, like gymnastics, tennis, piano, and dance.
Michelle keeps active with 90 minute workouts, 3 times a week. Before joining her husband on the road in January, she handled a full time, hospital executive job, along with taking care of the two children.
Time will only tell how the future pans out for the Obama family, but if they get their way, they will be taking interviews from a much bigger house!
