When the first The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movie premiered, Alexis Bledel and Amber Tamblyn were the high-profile television stars of the four main castmembers.

Bledel enjoyed a seven-year run on Gilmore Girls, as the show's lead Rory Gilmore. Tamblyn was the Joan referred to in her critically-acclaimed, but short-lived Joan of Arcadia series.

These days, America Ferrera, Betty of the hit series Ugly Betty, and Blake Lively of Gossip Girl brought the red carpet star power to their Traveling Pants.

Becki Newton, Ana Ortiz, Mark Indelicato and Judith Light showed up for the Ugly Betty contingent. Chace Crawford, Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick represented for Gossip Girl.

Conspicuously enough, Penn Badgley, Blake Lively's co-star and real-life boyfriend, was  absent from the event. It could have been a simple scheduling conflict. But when these kids star on a show called Gossip Girl, any absence begs for out of context extrapolation.

It's just so odd to see the one without the other, since they're so often attached at the face these days.
