Spike Jonze and Michelle Williams Go Public
Dawson’s Creek actress Michelle Williams and Being John Malkovich director Spike Jonze were photographed holding hands in New York City Tuesday night.
The pair were snapped on their way to the 18th Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards.
Earlier in the day, Michelle, 28, was seen grabbing coffee and walking around her Brooklyn neighborhood with three-year-old daughter Matilda Ledger.
Williams and Jonze, 39, have been quietly dating since earlier this year, when Michelle auditioned for a role in his upcoming remake of Where the Wild Things Are. Michelle didn’t get the part, but the pair hit upon a personal connection.
More recently, Spike produced the October release Synecdoche, New York, which Michelle starred in.
Tuesday it was announced that Williams was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award in the Best Female Lead category for her upcoming film Wendy and Lucy. She portrays a quirky lady (Wendy) who travels with her dog (Lucy) to Alaska for a summer job.
Synecdoche, New York was nominated, as well, in the Best First Feature and Best Screenplay categories.
That’s because Spike could no longer come up with plausible excuses for the bruises on his neck, caused by Michelle Williams’ massive thighs.
She got the role for Where the Wild Things Are in 2006 but dropped out later in the year, then she got the role for Synedoche New York, which Spike coproduces. Talk about the casting couch! Makes you wonder if she wasn’t secretely dating Spike already since mid 2007 or so, because Heath had already secretly dumped her early in the year but they only made the split official in late August 2007 because Heath was preparing the way for his coming out as a couple with Gemma Ward. Apparently, there is a big rumor around that Michelle was so jealous of Heath and Gemma that she prohibited him to see his daughter for up to 2 months before his death and he was getting ready to take her to court.
