Not everyone is totally broken up over the death of music legend Michael Jackson last week.
With what might be called an anti-tribute, Steppin' Out magazine is lashing out at the deceased King of Pop a mere week after his passing.
In a column charmingly entitled, "*sshole of the Week: Michael Jackson," Steppin' Out scribe Chaunce Hayden lambastes Jackson for his reputed inappropriate behavior with minor children. (Though Jackson had been accused multiple times of child molestation, he was never convicted of such a crime and was acquitted of child-molestation charges during a 2005 trial.)
"I refuse to jump on the 'rest in peace, we love you, Michael' bandwagon and shed tears over someone who was so f*cking despicable. How quickly the world forgets or conveniently chooses not to remember," Hayden writes. "Allow me to quickly recap the life of this troubled superstar: Michael Jackson was a pedophile. Michael Jackson was a drug addict. Michael Jackson abused his own children both physically and emotionally. Michael Jackson was a deadbeat who owed millions in unpaid bills. Oh yeah, and Michael Jackson could sing and dance like a motherf*cker. And now, he's dead. Boo hoo. What surprises me is how long this frail child molester was able to physically walk the earth."
Wow, judge, jury and poison-penned journalist all in one!
The column concludes, "I will not mourn the death of Michael Jackson no more than I would mourn the death of any pedophile that hunts down children for deviant pleasure...Regardless of his musical abilities. Tonight, as I write this column, my heart and tears go out to those children who grew up much too soon thanks to the 'King of Pop'."
Harsh words, but it's hardly a unique sentiment, as the national dialogue about the complicated life of Michael Jackson continues to unfold.
Let us know what you think in the comments section: Is Chaunce Hayden totally out of line, or does he have a point?

When someone dies, it's always best to try to remember the things that they did and offered to others................that includes the bad and the good.
What's more trivial...? If your child was really damaged and hurt from being "molested" by Michael Jackson, YOUR CHILD, would really fold, and take the money and drop the charges? Seriously. Your child. I personally, would not.
you are a f*cking ***hole. you do even know the truth? were you there at the scene where late michael behave with that kid? its all about money. the parent if this kid mus be like hey its michael jackson. lets get something out of him. money is the rude of all evil.
watch his interviews and you will know what kind of person he is. and oh, did you know the boy admitted his parents forced him to lie to get money from michael? ruin a person life for money? such 'beings' shouldnt be alive. they are the ones who should be dead. and i love you, michael.
step all over michael jackson one week after his death? that makes you no better.
The same thing can be said about the parents. If your child had been molested, would you accept $20 million ? or fight "tooth and nail" until you saw the guy getting some type of punishment and public knowledge that would prevent other kids from getting molested...???
Exactly. Only the people involved know what happened. Either way people can mourn whoever they want and people mean different things to everyone. You can not ask someone not to mourn the death of someone else just because of what YOU thought of said person.
I think if the child was really molested, no parent would want to compensate the emotional and physical pain a child suffered with a monetary reward. It is also quite evident that his children really love him, and I think if he did abuse them they would be afraid of him, just as he was afraid of his father. How can you disrespect someone and further stain their memory based on things that have no proof and basically sounds like the opinion of a bitter person. You are being a bitter person by trying to hinder the grieving process of people who respect, love and miss MJ. It does not make you a hero or better person or a disciple of the 'truth.'
Its amusing to me that people say that "no parent would..." Michael Jackson's victims were from homes with greedy and dysfunctional parents.
I could just as easily say that I can't imagine that any grown man would have an unnatural interest in boys he is not related to. i could say that I can't imagine that any grown man would sleep in the same bed with boys.
Michael Jackson had HIS OWN CHILDREN, yet for some reason, chose to create relationships with stranger's children and have them sleep over in his bed! This man was a child molester.
While it's not good to speak ill of the dead, he is right. Michael Jackson WAS a pedophole (being cleared of charges doesn't prove anything. I find it very hard to believe EVERY single allogation was a lie) and pedophiles are the most disgusting, despicable people on the face of the earth. I don't agree with the way the journalist chose to display his feelings, but he was right to hate a child molester.
Wow... how can you say he was "proven innocent in court" (Sarah and others that feel this way). He's FAMOUS! He doesn't have to prove anything as long as he has enough money to pay off the complainers. As far as I'm concerned he was proven innocent the way OJ was. Good for this guy for writing what should be said but won't be by most journalists out of fear! I completely agree with him. Some good songs and the Moonwalk don't make you above reproach. I wrote something similar shortly after his death. You can see it at http://www.bestoftheboring.com/2009/ 06/always-look-on-the-bright-side-of -life/
