Are you a fan of The Office? Well, we’ve got some pretty crappy news for you.

At last night’s premiere of Despicable Me, 47-year-old funny man Steve Carrell confirmed that the rumors were true—he is leaving the show.

Unfortunately, on last night’s red carpet he told UsMagazine.com,

“Yes, it will be my last [season.] It’s the last on my contract, and I want to honor my contract.

I am excited — just so I can spend more time with my family.”

Just because he’s leaving, doesn’t mean he won’t miss his Office family.

“I’m sure I’m going to be very nostalgic. I mean, these are some of my best friends in the world! But it will be good — it will be good for everybody.”
