Steve-O Falls Prey to 'Dancing With the Stars' Curse!

The Dancing With the Stars curse appears to be reaching out to claim another victim

ET Online reports that Jackass daredevil Steve-O is already feeling the pain from his stint on this season's DTWS.

"A physical therapist has told me that nerves are being pinched in my back and it is in spasms because of inflammation related to torn muscles," Steve-O (born Stephen Glover) said in a statement. "I'm doing everything I can to let it heal; icing it, taking Advil, drinking water, visiting a chiropractor, and continuing to be worked on by the physical therapist. I'm still rehearsing every day, but walking through my salsa routine, rather than practicing the physical stunts and tricks that are incorporated into it. It is going to be a risky routine that I hope to pull off."

One wouldn't think that Steve-O would turn out to be such a delicate flower. The 34-year-old stuntman rose to questionable fame for his ability to perform physically risky feats, which to date have included:

• Stapling his own genitalia to his thigh

• Leaping from a trampoline into a running ceiling fan

• Filling his jockstrap with raw chicken and dangling over an alligator pit

• Attaching a live leech to his eyeball

But apparently, a little bit of ballroom dancing can take down the seemingly indestructible prankster.

Then again, even for a show that's known for its physical rigors, this season of Dancing With the Stars has been particularly unforgiving for its contestants. So far, singer Jewel and television anchor Nancy O'Dell were forced to drop out after sustaining injuries, Apple founder Steve Wozniak has fractured his foot, and Gilles Marini has suffered—youch!—a pulled groin.
